Amazing location, Delicious Food, Superb Service, Mesmerizing views!! A must go if you want to WOW a special person.
Beautiful view, excellent food. Ordered rib-eye stake, loved it! French fries are the best in the town. Love this place! Will come back again!
Seated immediately. Champagne flowed. Wait staff never introduced themselves. Did not direct you to food areas. Did not explain how buffet experience was to work.
Whiskey Reds is always a great spot for brunch. They just never disappoint.
Gorgeous location, right on the water. Beautiful grounds. Excellent Sunday brunch; the seafood spread is a particular highlight. The staff responds quickly to special requests and they keep your champagne glass filled. Go early (they open at 10 am and the crowds don't arrive till 11) and watch the sea lions swimming. This is a particularly good place to take out of town visitors you want to impress!
This was my second time visiting the restaurant. My first visit was several months ago and the food was really good. It just the opposite during my most recent visit. The room where the food was displayed had an unpleasant smell. Also the food was not prepared well. The food displays were constantly low or out, especially the desert table. I don’t know if you changed cooks, but I will be hesitate to visit the restaurant again.
Come here once or twice a year to celebrate birthdays, and always leave happy. The food is adequate, the service good, but the ambiance is wonderful with the view of the marina with the sail boats, sea lions, dolphins, and assortment of seabirds; the covered entrance with water dribbling off the eves and the koi pond underneath suggests you are leaving the hubbub of the a ho-hum city to some more exotic realm …will be back next year!
It was all okay. Food wasn't stupendous and neither was the service. However, it wasn't awful either. Go and enjoy, just don't expect to be wowed.
We arrived just when the restaurant opened and yet the bathrooms were a hot mess, stuff on the floor, not flushed, nothing picked up in both the men’s or women’s restrooms. 😳 We were entertaining out of town clients and the dinginess inside and the average food and cleanliness didn’t match the view on the patio which was great and the waiter who was attentive.
I have visited LA several times and always make sure I include Whiskey Reds Sunday brunch in my itinerary
View and weather were spectacular. Food was OK. Organization was underwhelming. People were finding empty food trays in the brunch buffet. Impression is nice employees needing leadership.
So much potential unfulfilled.
Great place I planing celebrate my birthday there
My girlfriends and I had an amazing Sunday brunch. Ruby and Chris were our servers and were professional and personable. The food was good with the exception of the seafood paella. It quickly lost its appeal when I realized there was chicken in it and I’m vegetarian/pescatarian. Overall, we had an awesome time and great conversation!
View was lovely, and servers were very accommodating. The Brussels sprouts were incredible as was the halibut. Scampi was a little under seasoned but still yummy.
however the food is Meh
Service not great
We picked a 11:30 arrival to avoid the crowds. It was perfect. Only a few diners at that time of morning. We were able to have brunch on a peaceful and quiet outside patio. The waiter was personable and somewhat entertaining. He had a quick wit about him and we found it delightful. The food was good but you really can’t screw up scrambled eggs and tater tots.
The good thing about the place is the view. The food is overage, the service isn't great too - we were waiting a bit too long to have our burgers. Also we needed to ask several times to get our utensils. They have a good cocktail and wine list, so probably Whiskey Red's is better for having a drink rather to to have a dinner.
Food and drinks are great kid friendly just overall good place to go
Victor the bartender made the day ! He was an amazing host/ waiter/ bartender . He took very good care of us . He was very attentive. Others is the restaurant were nice. The food was not good. There was no real variety and the quality wasn’t there for the price. I would return only if Victor took care of us. The chairs were dirty and old . Even through the restaurant has been remodeled in places it just looks like it needs a good cleaning.
Food took about 30-40 min from order to table. And it 2/5 things were incorrect from the order.
Appetizers showed up 30 minutes later
Sunset view happy hour is the best on the Westside
Absolutely fantastic time. Service was excellent. Staff very attentive to your needs. Ambiance was friendly and welcoming
Loved our beautiful view of the marina from our patio table. Our server, Maria, was fantastic. The buffet selection keeps you coming back for more and the bottomless mimosas made for a wonderful experience.
Maria was amazing! Our party of 7 had to wait some time for the food (roughly 30mins) but Maria made sure to check in a lot. The live music www phenomenal. I will definitely be back to hear the sax player!! He was jamming!
Drinks and food were delicious. Loved the ambiance here. This is the msin readon why I would return. Service was just okay. 3 things we ordered were forgotten, we were rushed to pay and the place was not crowded. Our server was very nice so we weren't too annoyed with all of this.
Our waiter/bartender Roger was great. Was very knowledgable about Whiskeys, which we drink alot of. We went on a Tuesday night, place was dead. The food was just okay..not stupendous. I ordered the Steak and Frites. Steak was med-well done, but was very chewy and wasn't juicy at all. My wife had the Angus burger and that was on point! Mom and Aunt had the Shrimp Scampi and they both enjoyed it with plenty of shrimp! Only downside was that they didn't have any FRESH parmesan cheese for their pasta. Won't come back here for dinner again, but we will be back for the Saturday & Sunday Buffett and bottomless Mimosas. This we know they're good for.
We would recommend only for atmosphere, food was only ok...Did not feel we got value for what it cost. When I got the bill I was surprised and no one even mentioned our anniversary! Great place for an expensive cocktail on a summer afternoon, but there are soo many better places for cocktails!!!!! Need to step up your game!!!!
We got a very good service ... a special shoutout to Chelsea!
Outside of the ambiance, this place would get a negative rating. The food was abysmal. No flavor. Small portions. Not worth your time, energy or money.
Food was OK. The appetizer, brussel sprounts were amazing.
Our meat was burnt but they did provide a discount.
My burger was ok.
Whiskey Red's is located in a beautiful scenic area. Plenty of sunlight and fresh air. It's conveniently located near several LA areas. The price was affordable which included bottomless mimosas. My only complaint was that there was only one chef at the hot food station.
Great quality food, with a nice view. Great for special occasions.
Whiskey Red’s main attraction is the view from the patio. It has a lovely view of the marina and it is a great place to watch the sunset. Very romantic. Aside from that, the menu is limited, although it is well prepared, and the service is very good.
The receptionist who sat us down gave us some attitude. There was numerous open tables and she insisted that they were all spoken for. By the time we left, 2 hours later all those tables were still open. Not a very friendly welcome and a lot of ego. Our waiter was just awesome though. Such sweet and attending person.
It was just ok, I didn't see the big hype. Food was fair not great nothing special, our waiter was so so and I feel they are a bit over priced. Drinks and view were the best things about the place. I won't be going there again unless it's to hangout and drink a little.
We've been coming here for brunch for years and it has gone downhill little by little over time. The most recent visit prompted this review as they just don't offer enough options not do they refill the food fast enough to justify the $49.95/ person cost. They used to have sushi (no longer), a robust carving station (now just one very sad-looking piece of dried out beef), waffle station (now only pre-made and sitting out to get cold), a decent salad bar (now one small bowl of limp mixed greens and an empty bowl of romaine that never got refilled, along with only cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, and two dressing choices). There used to be guacamole and other taco/nacho toppings ( no longer). We had to ask three time for more shrimp to be filled at the seafood station and that took 20 minutes. All the while, the price keeps going up. The view is great but does not justify the lack of options and high price.
For the amount of money we paid for the brunch, there was a minimum amount of food choices. The seafood station was very sparse and was not replenished too often. The women’s bathroom was so filthy that I would have turned around but my drive home was too long to wait. I’ve been to this restaurant several times before but was never as disappointed as my visit on Sunday, August 18th. I will not go back again.
There was plenty of food, but most of it was mediocre. Three exceptions:
1. The cook at the omelet station knew his business and turned out competent omelets.
2. The corned beef hash was fairly good, though not as good as what I make at home. But going to Whiskey Red's saved me 45 minutes of work making one dish.
3. The deserts were generally very good, some of the truly outstanding.
