Brilliant food. Would recommend highly
Cannot recommend enough! Food was outstanding and service equally so. If only there were more places like this.
A hidden gem!!
Really enjoyed the meal and lovely staff. Pity it is not busy. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Unfortunately the restaurant accepted bookings despite shutting down. Nothing about this was communicated through open table as the booking still appeared to be on. Having arrived 30 min before closing down, we were not even allowed to stay for a drink. Would not recommend
We didn't actually have anything to eat but other customers did and their meals looked delicious.
Intended to go for quite a while and whilst some of the decor could do with improvement - everything else was excellent. Great service and excellent food quality. Of particular note was the perfectly cooked vegetables!!
We had a lovely family meal to celebrate our son becoming a Chartered Accountant on 2nd October 2020. Waitress was lovely and food was excellent.
Super food, super service. Chicken main and Lamb shoulder main brilliant and smoked salmon was amazing. Apple tartin was soooo good. Ok costs for such good food, I’ve rapid more and eaten much poorer food elsewhere
Salmon was really good but had a bit too much kale. The venison was excellent and was cooked too perfection.
Gorgeous food great service, seated quickly , would go back
Food was ok but overpriced. Lovely looking place, long wait but waited roughly half an hour slot the staff polite and helpful
The food wasn’t great, it was awful to tell the truth. Service was ok, the place itself had a nice vibe but didn’t make up for the expensive dinner. Not a good example of Scottish food. To sum it up, take one look then run away.
Super good service
Tasty tasty food
Great boozer selection
Great location
Lovely place to eat out .. lots of choice on the menu, lovely atmosphere and fully enjoyed our meal .. made for the perfect date night !
We returned to WHISKI for the third time in as many years and it fulfilled our expectations in all areas. Great place to eat and relax.
Fantastic food and great drink options - would recommend!
Food and drink selection was fine but generally over priced. Service was ok, and I appreciate that the server discounted my whisky as it was an older age statement then what was on the menu; however, we went an hour without anyone coming by.
First night in Edinburgh had an amazing meal here would 100 % recommend great food and loads of choice at the bar
We enjoyed your meal on set menu soup and main course delicious however the dessert was overly creamy. Would have preferred an additional choice for dessert. Wine slightly overpriced. Service great and overall enjoyed dining experience.
Very good steak and pie, very good whisky tasting!
Very nice service and ambiance
The mushroom soup is great, but the bread is a bit over toasted. Ribeye is fresh and fantastic, love it!
Really nice. Worth visiting. Service was outstanding and the food was delicious.
Geordie waiter pretty rude. It’s a whisky speciality place - my friend asked if he would recommend anything ‘like a talisker, so smoky and good?’ And he said ‘well for a start I don’t think it’s either smoky or good’- unnecessary comment. Then recommended just another more premium talisker at about double the price, and when my friend commented that he couldn’t taste much difference between them, he said “not really surprised after you ruined it with a great big chunk of ice”. And that sort of summarised the experience! He rushed us from start to finish whereas by contrast his female colleague was very nice and helpful. Definitely wouldn’t recommend going back. Food was quite nice and a beautiful setting but he dampened the entire experience!
Lovely food with good friendly service, good choice of cocktails and of course Whisky
Lovely food from starter through to desert.
Restaurant a bit worn down however food and service excellent!!
Desided to choose this place as a treat even though a little on the pricey side, I was expecting it to be good. And wasn't disappointed really good food and drink. Shame the innes & gunn was out on the draught but managed to fit in some wee dram. Very good place to dine out for a nice treat.
First visit to the Whiski rooms, great service and a lovely ‘cosy’ atmosphere. A great selection of food, drinks and whiskies! Really enjoyed by both myself and my partner, and we even returned the following day for drinks. Would definitely recommend!
Venison beautifully cooked with perfect grill marks and garnish and great atmosphere.
Myself and my partner had a great experience while on our holiday up to Scotland - we were met by a warm welcome from staff whom were all very friendly and had a great sense of humor. At first we went just for a few drinks and then upon discovering there is vegan haggis on the menu (my partner is vegan) it was a very easy decision as that is where we'd have our dinner that night if they had space for us to do so. We were surprised though that they were able to accommodate us that evening for dinner which was excellent as we'd all but given up finding anywhere else still offering vegan haggis (all closed temporarily due to the covid-19 situation). We returned a couple of hours later for dinner, upon which I informed one of the staff (a lovely and funny gentleman whom I'm afraid I never learnt his name) that we had in those two hour away become engaged after I proposed to my girlfriend (now happy to say is my fiance) and to my surprise he brought out a couple of glasses of bubbly on the house for us which was the nicest touch to such a special evening - thank you again so much for that if you read this!
The food was brilliant; I had the Scottish salmon which was cooked perfectly and the sauce/ jus and accompanying vegetables complimented the salmon perfectly whilst ensuring not to steal the show from the fish. The vegan haggis dish was also perfect; my partner absolutely loved it (and said it was the nicest, softest mash she's ever had). Our waitress was super friendly and lovely, and helped add to making the evening feel special - thank you :)
Overall it was the perfect evening and we had a brilliant experience here, and can highly recommend it to anyone looking to either go for drinks and experience different whisky's, and/ or for the amazing food, you can't go wrong :)
Great service, great food. Would visit again just for the chips!!
Food was amazing as usual and in spite of COVID restrictions the atmosphere and staff were friendly and welcoming
Nice food, lovely atmosphere, service was great. A very enjoyable place to dine.
Really good food- the steak and ale pie was outstanding and the white chocolate creme brûlée memorable! Very good staff service- would definitely recommend and will go back.
Lovely restaurant, fab service from Kim, the food was really good, the rib eye steak just melts in your mouth and the whisky sauce is amazing, we asked for the recipe and Kim got it for us, would definitely visit here again for a lovely experience
Wonderful meal. Lovely staff
Amazing food, certainly the best meal we’ve had in Edinburgh.
The staff were friendly and inviting without being overbearing, and were highly knowledgable and more than able to make suggestions for the huge array of whisky they have available.
Really good traditional food will visit again if able once CoViD situation improves
Lovely place to eat but little expensive for what you get
Lovely restaurant sitting up off the Royal Mile, good selection of food. The restaurant has a nice warm friendly feel and the service was great and food tasted great!
