Went to try the haggis and it was excellent!
Went for my birthday. Would highly recommend, had the haggis and was amazing. Really good choice of cocktails and drinks to go with the food. Very good service from the staff, friendly. Definitely going again!
Good ambiance and the food is amazing. Waiters were very sweet. Haggis is very very good and the fish and ship also.
The food was good and the waitress was helpful and friendly.
Excellent food and lovely service. Will definitely be back.
Really enjoyed catching up with my friends over a great meal. Service, food and ambience were great
Great food, amazing whiskies, this is what I call paradise on earth
Lovely food for mains and great ambience. Ordered the cheese board for pudding, had to ask, after being served it, which cheese was which and the grapes were frozen. Got told they serve them no other way. Very odd.
We had a lovely diner with excelent service and good advice for an accompanying whiskey. Best place to go on your weekend in Edinburgh!
We were a party of 8 and were given an alcove to ourselves.
Amazing food and friendly waiters. Great atmosphere, would highly recommend
Ambience and service were excellent, cannot fault them at all. Food on the other hand was "ok" we ordered the Charcuterie board and that was fine but we then ordered steaks and they were a real disappointment, no seasoning on either one, an undressed salad and frozen chips. If you are going to charge this much for a steak especially one of this quality (meat quality far outweighed the chefs ability to cook it) then it needs to be good not "ok" Wetherspoons can cook a steak like this for half as much.
Overall it was a let down, as City visitors we read some excellent reviews and some of the other dishes coming out looked great but we wouldn't return based on our experience.
Fantastic restaurant, really beautiful and cosy. Brilliant food - we had the Valentine’s Day specials of sea bass and lamb cutlets and they were cooked to perfect! Would highly recommend a side of dauphinois potatoes! Service was great and friendly.
I was u sure about booking not particularly wanting a tourist venue but read lots of good reviews and we had a really lovely experience.
The service was excellent, such a nice guy, funny and helpful!
The Food quality was perfect, the salmon beautiful, the lamb so tender. The cocktails, old fashion, delicious! The price was on the high side, but I guess this reflected the location but we couldn’t fault the food. Thanks for a lovely night.
Another excellent meal. Food and wine amazing. Even got a candle in the ice cream for my birthday!
Pleased to recommend lovely food and friendly service
Great drinks, great food, great service!
A real authentic Scottish treat. Couldn't think of a better place to experience Scottish flavour during a shirt break to Edinburgh. Excellent
Second time I’ve been here, and it never disappoints. Lovely food in a really nice restaurant
Took my friend from Australia for haggis. It was very quiet but the staff were fantastic and the food was excellent. My friend had a wonderful experience
Very good, Alis!
Very good dinner, extremely nice service
Very quiet when we visited, but it was 3.39 on a very windy January afternoon. Had the two course lunchtime menu. Very tasty and good value for money. Would certainly go again .
The best fish and chips i ever had.Making such a simple dish outstandingly delicious is not easy i think!
Atmosphere was lovely very cosy and warm. Food was delicious and very filling we couldn't manage a dessert. The thistle cider was very nice would highly recommend trying it.
EXCELLENT. The service was amazing, with our waiter being very attentive, topping up glasses, including water, replacing the ice and constantly keeping an eye on us, without being in our way.
Dinner here for Burns night on our weekend away in Edinburgh, food was good but felt quite rushed as hardly any gap between starter and main courses.
Great meal in the lovely whiski rooms with exceptional service and fantastic ambiance. Will definitely return soon!
We had a lovely experience at the WHISKI rooms - both with a tasting and then a meal. Sean was great as our host at our whiskey and chocolate tasting - very informative and entertaining - he was obviously very well informed and passionate about whiskey - really made it a great experience. Our meal was lovely, service very good, environment and ambience good. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
The (traditional or vegetarian) haggis with whisky sauce seems to be a favourite - and justifiably so.
The cocktails are rather modest in size for their price.
Service attentive and quick.
The 25% discount on food was not applied so make sure you insist if you got one.
I booked this restaurant because the menu looked good and they offered a wide selection of whiskeys. Ultimately however, this place is a bit of a tourist trap. The food was okay, decent, but nothing I would rave about or remember. Service was nothing special, and the general atmosphere was a bit "underwhelming", perhaps the other diners felt the same as we did. There are pubs in the area ordering similar food of better quality, at a better price.
Enjoyed dinner on holiday. We had a delightful young waitress and an attentive bar staff that made for a very special evening.
Gentleman working probably as the manager (or waiter lead) of this place wasn’t too friendly.
Waiters were nice though.
I also think the place is overrated in regards to the food.
Lovely food waitress was very nice and recommended dishes on the menu. Will be returning my only moan is that the restaurant was cold it could have done with some extra heating as it was cold and wet outside. Apart from that worth a visit
It was good food and service although place looked dirty, floor, table bases, shelves and toilets were not tidy.
We came here for lunch with two young children. It was nice a quiet in the day. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious!! The only negative is that the set lunch menu was not on that day and this was not communicated online but other than that we have no complaints. It was a really lovely experience and we would eat here again.
The food was excellent (with the only cavate that an order was slightly wrong). The sirloin steak with Ardbeg sauce is my new favourite...
Delicious food & whisky. I was disappointed to find out that the kitchen was next to the toilets but luckily it was after I had eaten.
It explains the few tiny mosquitos flying around in the restaurant area.
If wasn’t for that I would’ve given 5 stars.
Very friendly staff and great value for money... Food was of a very good standard.
Nice food. Shame the vegetarian haggis wasn’t home-made for the price. Ambiance was lovely, staff were very friendly.
