Whiski Rooms has a reputation as being one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh, one of the best Whisky Bars in the world, the first Ardbeg Embassy in the UK, a whisky and gift shop, and a tasting room for daily whisky tastings.
Whiski Rooms is located off the Royal Mile in the city centre looking over Princess Street where you will experience traditional Scottish food.
Went for a late lunch. We both had sirloin steak which was divine and shared a platter to start. The service was excellent and thorough enjoyed the who experience and would definitely go again.
Tasty food and great service. Nice atmosphere in a cosy trendy restaurant.
The food was excellent! We had a little mishap with the starters, but the staff was quick to get everything straightened out! They truly went above and beyond! Great evening!
A super meal, glad we booked. Tasty food and good service
cool location, great service, delicious food & drinks - Whiskeys are excellent!
Excelent Haggis and whiskey selection with great service!
A great place for tasting whiskey and trying a haggis! Lovely view from the window table
Great place for local food - love the pairing with different whisky
Overall very good. However, though service was friendly it was very slow and inattentive. Get more staff on busy evenings!
Really enjoyed our visit to Whiski Rooms. Excellent food and service. Will be back.
It was delightful!!! We went for dinner for our 1st year anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. When the coffees came out slow because the machine wasn’t working well, they gave them to us free. Great service. Amazing food.
Excellent food. Plenty Scottish options for our foreign friends. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Well worth a visit.
Food was generally very salty and over cooked. Of particular poor quality was the Haggis, macaroni cheese bake, and chicken salad. Mushroom soup was good
Food and service was very low for price. Wouldn’t recommend!
Great place to catch up with friends. Lovely atmosphere and food
Awesome food and drinks! We went two nights in a row.
We had a reservation for two and ran into a friend on our way there. They were able to add him to our table which was wonderful. At one point I did hear a little crash behind me with a little mishap. The next thing I realized the waiter was cleaning my jacket. I was very impressed that he jumped right on it and it came through with minimal damage. Naturally they took care of everything and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Please try the lamb cigars!
Visited here twice on different occasions to Edinburgh
Didn’t disappoint great food and location
The veggie haggis was not bad, not as good as the reviews. A wee bit spicier would have been good. Service was excellent.
Excellent food. Would go back for sure. We had the slow cooked lamb with roasted vegetables and it was superb. For starters we had the salmon three ways which was delicious. Dessert was yummy too. Recommend.
A lovely evening with great flights of whisky and excellent food
We had a lovely family meal together, 6 of us and were treated wonderfully. Amazing food and drink within a lovely atmosphere. Great price and great location, we’ll be back for more!
We came back after 6 years and experienced the same good food&drink, friendly staff and nice atmosphere,
It was the perfect place to meet up with friends for a spot of lunch. We had a lovely window seat, looking out over Princes Street. The food was very tasty (I had the fish and chips) ! We were looked after by a very efficient young man, who even took time to chat to us. It was very handy for the station, which one of my friends was using.
We were a group of 8, visiting Edinburgh for the weekend. The service was great, the food was spot on, ambience was perfect, in a stylish, central location. Thank you!
My husband and myself visited whiski rooms while staying in Edinburgh celebrating my husband's birthday. We had a wonderful meal. We would highly recommend taking a visit of you are in the area
This was the second time I visited Whiski Rooms. The first time was amazing. The second time it was just the short blonde haired waitress which spoiled the entire birthday evening. She was short tempered and clearly not interested in good service. Two things stood out when our food arrived. My fiance asked why her bearnaise sauce was brown, and she said that it was indeed bearnaise sauce and that's the colour of the sauce. It turned out to be Pepper Sauce. A scary proposition if you consider allergy reactions. The second was when I asked why if medium rare at this restaurant is equal to medium well done at other restaurants. She said it is indeed cooked medium rare, which is wasn't when I consulted another waitress. It was not a good experience, and we're not ever heading back, and will not recommend it to friends.
Wonderful place for dinner if you're visiting Edinburgh. I asked our waitress to decide if I should get the lamb or the venison. She recommended the lamb. The venison dish is what came to our table and it was so good I just ate it and never mentioned the mixup!
The food was lovely as where the staff....food and drink is a bit pricey ... it’s more for the tourists than the locals .
Excellent food, quick service. Haggis was delicious.
We really enjoyed our time at Whiski Rooms.
Kim did a great job. It was s fullfilled customer experience.
Super Essen, erstklassiger Whisky, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service.
Really nice staff, food was excellent! Even gave my dad a birthday dessert which was really nice of them!
Lovely restaurant, great food and great location. The service was very good
Location, ambience, service and food is exceptional .
Simply superb! High quality food, friendly and informed service, good value and superb selection of whisky all delivered in a relaxed, informal ambience. Highly recommend this bistro.
Scottish pub feel with five star food and whiskey. A definite must for dining while in Edinburgh!
Have to try the braised lamb shoulder! It's to die for! Everything else was very good & we had a great time there!
Very good. Restaurant was quiet and our table was at the window. Two of us had the fish and chips which were visually stunning and a taste sensation. Veggie burger was a treat as was the apple tart. Staff were attentive and courteous. A great time was had by all and we ll def be back 😄
Classy without being posh, great service (thank you Kim, you've been amazing), amazing food, perfect whisky pairings, and an outstanding selection. My friends and I had a wonderful time. Would definitely go back on my next visit to Edinburgh!
