Whiski Rooms has a reputation as being one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh, one of the best Whisky Bars in the world, the first Ardbeg Embassy in the UK, a whisky and gift shop, and a tasting room for daily whisky tastings.
Whiski Rooms is located off the Royal Mile in the city centre looking over Princess Street where you will experience traditional Scottish food.
The food was very good and the whisky exceptional! It’s a great place have a relaxed meal in a friendly local restaurant. The service was wonderful especially Kim who was very helpful. Definitely a restaurant to visit when in Edinburgh.
Best vegetarian haggis in scotland, portions are small but very tasty served with neeps mash and whisky sauce
We had a lovely steak and mushroom pie.
The pastry on the Scottish Pie was light as a feather. The haggis was delicious! Excellent dining experience!
This was my third visit to whiski rooms, I’m never disappointed. We are from the set menu which offered outstanding value for money. The wine was also lovely! Thank you, fine Scottish food, fantastic value and a great central setting.
The food excellent. Excellent selection of whisky to accompany the dishes
Birthday meal so expected a great meal and service. Did not disappoint. Loved the whiskey flight choices and the steak was amazing. Only down side was my wife’s Lamb meal. She thought it could have been better. Overall fantastic restaurant.
Had a great time
Food was amazing
Perfect setting for dinner, combining great food and whisky tasting!
Great friendly service and food
We had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent must have the butterscotch old fashioned.
Well organized Restaurants. For early evening bookings you have to be aware that there is a „second round“ and tables have to be left.
Nice Whisky flights
Exceptional service. Great menu. Would highly recommend.
Great simple food, very tasty and generous on portions. Big Whisky list and a waiters who know what to suggest. Nice candle ambiance and overall pleasant evening!
Good food and friendly atmosphere. Steaks were cooked to perfection
Excellent food , very well look after by the waitress
Great recommendations and service from Sasha, and the kitchen didn’t let us down! Would recommend.
Great menu, something for everyone in our party, tasty, wholesome food.
Second time round and once again it did not disappoint. Amazing food.
Lovely setting and food was great apart from the fact our whisky sauce tasted like soap, ordered a chataeubriand steak which was the best part of £60 and they only wanted to give us £4 discount for a sauce that ruined the whole taste. They then wanted to charge a £35 service charge as we were in a large group! Not acceptable and wouldn’t go back based on the fact the food is not value for money and the service left a lot to be desired. Also the wine we ordered was poor and at £30 a bottle I didn’t expect it to have a screw top! very disappointing.
We made a reservation here, having walked past it on the previous day. The service, food, atmosphere were all first class and the Steak was cooked exactly how we wanted it. Prices were reasonable and the choice of Whisky and knowledge of the staff was invaluable. We would definitely recommend.
We had a good time at the Whiski Room even though after a tour of the Western Isles we were a little whiskied out to start with. So I was super happy to find a good gin selection too; but I really hope they step up the on-tap beer selection to round off an otherwise great night out. I had really looked forward to the Steak the service was superbly friendly and helpful. Heartily recommend a night out at the Whiski Room.
All good. Great food.
Lovely waitress, very friendly and helpful. Great food and cosy atmosphere. Very good value for money. Would definately eat here again when next in Edinburgh.
This was a great spot. Very innovative to include whisky pairings with the entrees. If you enjoy single malts, this is the place for you. The selection and presentations are awesome. Choose from multiple flights, all depending on taste and cost. Lots to choose from. I went high end because I did not know when I might be back. It was worth every pound. My son enjoyed his flight immensely too. Service and ambiance were great. We had the window table which was wonderful. It was, however, a mild September might and it became a bit warm inside for me. This was my only complaint ( and not a serious one). Cheers.
Great venue, well prepared food but fantastic service - will be back (thanks Kim for looking after us)
Great food, friendly service, and great decor. Would definitely recommend for a good evening as our was 😁
The food at the Whiski Rooms was excellent and the service was exceptional. All staff were welcoming and helpful. They worked together as a team to ensure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing - perfect for an autumn night out - and the views over Edinburgh are spectacular,
Had a lovely meal however it was a little tight in the space we were seated for 2 people..great service and could not fault the food at all. Hope to return again sometime soon.
We had a really pleasant dinner at Whiski rooms. The interior wasn't necessarily my favourite, but it suits the name - it is publike, but made a little more special with a beautiful rock wall. I had the lamb which was really succulent and tasty with roast vegetables. The puddings were super tasty - we had the sticky toffee pudding and the whisky carachan, which rounded the meal nicely. I must say the Old fashioned was the best Old fashioned I've ever had (which is what you'd expect from the name!). Additional lovely little detail was the hand cream used in the bathroom - it was Whisky and honey cream, and it was super soft!
Good selection of food and drinks.
Great food. Amazing haggis. We ate here twice on our trip to Edinburgh. Great whiskey selection.
Great location, had a window seat which was fantastic! We weren’t rushed at alll, only thing was we all had salads and didn’t think they were great value for money. Desserts were too expensive also we felt.
Excellent evening had by all, great service, lovely food with an excellent buzz about the place.
Great food, phenomenal environment in a great location. Lukas was a great server! The whisky tasting was fun as well.
Haggis spring rolls w plum sauce was excellent. Main dishes were good but not amazing. The dessert however, sticky toffee pudding, was amazing. Best we had in Scotland or England. Definite recommend.
I wrote a more extensive review today on TripAdvisor. Went there last night at 9 p.m. for a quick dinner service was poor or drinks took too long and we didn't stay for dinner. And after to eat at Angels and bagpipes instead which was fabulous!
Great whiskey flights available.
