White Dog Cafe-Haverford
All good. Erica waitress is the best!
Good menu. Excellent food. Friendly service. Never disappoints.
Quiet during lunch in bar area
Very poor service- disorganized and haphazard.
Compared to other times we have been to the WD our experience this night was sub-par.
We had reservations and had friends from out of town join us. We showed up 5 minutes early. We were seated in a wooden booth at the bar section. We asked for a table in the restaurant and we were told we would have to wait another 30 minutes. Our guests missed out on the ambiance of the restaurant and had to we sit in the bar with HSN playing on bar TVs. It was embarrassing and such a disappointment. Our server was lovely. Honestly, reservations should never be placed in the bar section.
I have given the Dog two tries. Once good food but poor service, this time it was reversed. The food is incredibly bland. I doubt I will go there again.
Butternut squash soup was excellent! Would have enjoyed more variety on the entrees, but my salmon was very good. More gluten-free options for my husband would have been appreciated. When I made the reservation, I did state it was our wedding anniversary. Coincidentally the couple next to us was also celebrating their anniversary and were given a complimentary dessert. We sadly got nothing.
Another wonderful dinner and celebration. Thank you!
Service was incredibly slow… A salad with grilled chicken at it at $22 is a very high price point for every day lunch. Love the restaurant, food and Decour but I’m always disappointed by the slow service and cost
Food excellent, drink great, comfortable
Only complaint, I ordered a glass of to be served with my dinner, I did not receive the wine and finally saw the mgr walk by and told him to tell the server to cancel my wine order as the other diners at the table were half way thru their dinner.
Also had to request a soup spoon for my first course ,
We will dine with you again and we are sure the next experience will be better
As always, great food and great service. In the future I will avoid going before 7pm on a weekend, as it appears that the cafe has significantly more families with young children. Although I love kids I'd rather not have them screaming through my dinner. :)
The food is perfectly fresh, and I particularly appreciate the honest flavors. The short rib was super tender, and the gravy and vegetables around it were perfectly flavored. No part of the dish overpowered the others. The puff pastry "dog bones" floating on top were delightful and lent lightness to a hearty dish.
Service was TERRIBLE!!
Our waitress, Gordana, was excellent. She was pleasant and patient. It was nice of her to recognize my daughter’s birthday with a treat for dessert.
Waiter was great. Very attentive and food was very good
Food, service and atmosphere are top notch!
The food and ambiance were excellent. It was a very busy night and we showed up with and additional person and they accommodated us with no problems!
New autumn fare was delicious
Wonderful meal that was locally sourced, highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!
The overall food quality seems to have slipped over my last three visits
So glad White Dog is still going strong. Still a unique dining experience where the food is fresh and well thought out.
I usually stay away from bread but they serve such good bread that I couldn’t resist.
Still a bit pricey
But will definitely visit again!
Great food and service!
Only issue are the seats at certain tables are very low! Should be higher.
Surprised how interesting menu was presented for restaurant week. Elysian was an excellent server.
The atmosphere was lovely and the food was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable and professional... cannot wait to go back!
Nicole was great!
The food, the service, the drinks, all excellent. Couldn’t be happier with our anniversary dinner.
Love, love, love this White Dog restaurant. Quieter and more subdued than Wayne. Menu and food were great including the Vegan Menu. Service was spot on. Dine early for quieter times.
Always agreat dining experience. We go so frequently they know us, and what dishes we like. Homey environment.
Ambiance and service are amazing. It is a little noisy and parking can be a challenge but the food and ambiance make it all worthwhile. Great place to meet a friend.
We always enjoy lunches at White Dog Cafe. The menu is interesting, the food good, and we do not feel hurried.
This is a beautiful restaurant with an incredible bar area. We sat in the dining area and were pretty close to the table next to us but were able to hear our own conversation without raising our voices. That's rare. The hamburger was one of the best I've ever had. I don't eat it on a bun so the quality is very evident and this one was quality and cooked well. The one glitch was that the burger came with fries which I don't eat. If I had known that (I don't think it was specified on the menu) I would have asked for a different vegetable. Overall a great place for lunch!
Great food and service!! They also happily accommodated dietary requests!! Love the food!
The White Dog never disappoints. The food is great, the ambiance is wonderful and the service is excellent. You can go more casual at the bar or more formal if you like.
We have been to White Dog many times for various occasions. The food, service, and ambiance is excellent. We have recommended this restaurant to many friends and family.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, very nice people
I love the White Dog Cafe and I am a frequent visitor when I am in this area. I love that I can get gluten free bread with my meal and that they use high quality, often locally sourced ingredients. I ordered the Farmer's Plate and asked for gluten free bread. It came with a dry multi-grain toast that I had not seen before as a gluten free option. I had to ask for butter. When I took a bite, I felt some doubt as to whether or not the bread was gluten free. I tried another bite or two and then became quite concerned that it might not be gluten free. At that point the waitress came over and I asked her if the bread was gluten free and she said that it looked like a multigrain bread and removed it from my plate. Another server brought out the familiar gluten free rolls to me. Later the waitress came back and said that the bread was gluten free but not baked in a gluten free facility so that there could be some contamination. This was quite upsetting for me because I really did not trust the waitress at that point. I am going to take a break from dinning at the White Dog and then I will be traveling, so I'll try it again when I come back to town.
It took 27 minutes to get the bread basket, oj glass arrived with a chip on the lip, Bloody Mary arrived with Gin despite me specifically requesting Vodka, the biscuits were hard, French toast was eggy and the short rib hash was luke warm at best.
The Butchers cut and mushroom soup were outstanding! The cheese plate and mushroom gnocchi were serviceable but not exciting. The cocktails, wine, and particularly the port were just sublime. Thank you for a lovely evening :-)
