It's not a bad idea to dine outside. Nice as always.
1). We made reservations 4 outdoors. However, when we got there, we were told we had to go indoors to let them know we were there. These days, I get paranoid about going indoors in an establishment. That’s y we chose to eat outdoors. I think there should b a host(ess) outdoors rather than forcing patrons to go indoors.
2). It was a bit chilly outdoors, so we asked 4 the (excellent) heat lamp to b turned up. It was, but only after we had to ask 4 times & a good while after we originally asked. Maybe they should just b on unless a patron asks 4 them to b turned off.
3). On the Open Door reservation, I asked 4 a piece of birthday cake for my wife’s birthday. It never came & it was never acknowledged. If the special request won’t b honored, or even acknowledged, y bother asking 4 it?
4). Our server (I’m sorry but I don’t remember her name) was nothing less then tremendous. She made us feel extremely comfortable (admittedly I was a bit shaky about eating at a restaurant), was incredibly efficient & a lovely person. She is an incredible asset to this restaurant.
5). Under current circumstances, I think restaurant patrons should consider leaving a larger tip than usual. These ppl’ work hard under conditions we’ve never experienced & deserve any support in any way we can give them.
Top notch as usual in spite of covid19 restrictions
Second time dining out during green phase. The staff were very conscious of social distancing etc. Found the menu somewhat limited and prices were mostly on the higher end . We spent 77.00 not including tip . No drinks , just water. Burger for my guest, crab chowder for me. Fried pickles were shared. I did splurge on crime brûlée. Very nice service but food didn’t wow me.
We felt very comfortable and safe, and we were able to relax in the current COVID environment. All appropriate precautions were taken by the restaurant and guests. The food was great, and the service was excellent.
The food was not good. We have been here many times, but this visit was a major step down from previous visits.
In pre-Covid times, I’ve loved going to White Dog. This experience was understandably different. We arrived for our 12:30 reservation promptly on a beautiful Sunday, excited to try outdoor dining at one of our favorite spots. Unfortunately, despite having checked in with the maître’d on time, we were thoroughly ignored as we stood outside the door (as instructed) in the parking lot, waiting for our table, until I asked for someone’s attention at 12:45. Then we were hastily seated at a table immediately near the entrance door, in no way socially distant from those going in and out. Once seated, we waited another 15 minutes for a server, who apparently was the waitress serving the table next to ours, and who I had to stop and ask “excuse me, do you know who our server is?” We placed our entire order, drinks and lunch, and had to wait another 15 minutes for our cocktails to arrive! When our appetizers were served, my soup was poured ceremoniously as the server noted I needed a spoon. He said he would go get one, and disappeared into the restaurant, never to be seen again. After 5 minutes, I stopped a hostess and asked her to bring me a spoon. Things got back to normal after that, but I was pretty surprised and disappointed by the overall experience. I would love to go back, but I’m not sure I feel WD is quite up to par, even understanding these challenging times.
Not your usual everyday foods. The experience and the food were good!
Our server Daniel was amazing! He knew the menu and helped us make delicious choices.
Amazing food & service however there was a bit of a wait for us to even receive our menus. Other then that...great place to dine and I’ll be back!
Dined outside on Friday, September 18. It was chilly, but the food is fantastic, as always, and service is excellent.
except for the bees everything was great, servers were j8ust lovely and attentive
Delicious food. They handled all the Covid -19 precautions well. Very prompt at cleaning tables and chairs as soon as someone left. Only downside was they were a bit slow with the check. Overall, a great evening.
The service staff needs a little training as our coffees were cold and she didn't know to bring salt and peppers to the table and was generally very slow in responding. She told us she was new, so her lack of knowledge is understandable. But we felt the management should provide her a little more training before letting her take care of the customers all by herself. The food was excellent and tasty and had a nice presentation otherwise. Will go back again and hopefully be served by better trained staff.
The seasonal menu had a number of excellent offerings. The service was attentive and tables were well spaced under a large tent.
Love how White Dog pivoted and provides an outstanding meal in a outside environment that seems classy and private for each table. Excellent evening!
We had been to the original one in Philadelphia a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We didn’t want to go into the city and decided to go to haverford location. When we go there the place was packed, inside and out. The food was very good but the service was extremely slow.
Safe. Well spaced. Only complaint was noise level but that was because we were all in a tent and sound carries.
Celebrated a 82 birthday under the tent for a party of 6. Everything was delightful as usual. When Erika arrived as our server, the evening was complete as she is one of our favorites. A totally perfect evening.
Large parking lot dining and enjoyed it- for weekend dining it’s best to get there earlier... from 6:30pm onwards on a Saturday night, the parking gets full and it takes a while for the servers/waiters to attend to you because the restaurant is so busy. The food was excellent and service was friendly, but we had to constantly call the staff over just to order drinks.
Wonderful brunch with my girls. Food and service was exceptional!
Pleasant , but sloppy service. Lack of structure and training.
Absolutely love white dog! One of my favorite cozy restraunts!
We've eaten here frequently as it is close to home and has lovely outdoor seating. However in the past we've always had an early dinner - 5:00 or 5:30 - this time we did not go until 6:30 p.m. and the service was quite awful. The only good news was there was a large crowd which was good for the restaurant in these times, but it greatly impacted what we had previously experienced as great service. The food selection is quite good for some items and a bit mediocre for others - prices are pretty hefty.
Veggie were Not cooked I really thoroughly
Felt very safe under the tent with the fans and good social distancing I think it was even better than eating inside except on those wicked hard days. Our waitress was awesome and the food was as always incredible
We felt very safe in the tent, and service was very good. A bit over-priced, but a solid positive experience
A bit pricey but our server was fantastic and the food was delicious! Great night out with our son!
Our service was mediocre. He claimed to be on top of things but not for the manager, we would have waited forever. That said, we give them slack given the circumstances of covid.
I have been eating here frequently with friends since they are close to my home and have very pleasant outdoor dining. However most of my meals have been closer to fairly mediocre until my last one when the three of us each tried something different and we all agreed our meal were excellent. I had the crab cake chowder, another the salmon and the other the scallops. All were yummy. Service was terrific. Prices a bit high but not outrageous
We had an enjoyable Sunday lunch under the tent and the food and atmosphere was perfect! Well done in a very difficult time! Patrons of all ages seemed to be having fun enjoying a great meal on a beautiful day!
Brunch was excellent and our server was very friendly and professional.
My husband and I ate outside with a friend. We are all seniors and thrilled to be safely social during Pandemic.
First time out dining this weekend since March! Wasn't sure what to expect for my friend's birthday brunch, but the White Dog did not disappoint! Their Marquee tent on the parking lot made a surprisingly pleasant ambience, the food was delicious--well up to their usual standard, the staff was all super friendly and helpful. Helped that the weather was perfect too. Definitely worth repeating.
Waited a long time to get basic bread which never came.
Entrée was cold.
Table was wobbly.
Food delivery service was subpar
But our waitress was very good under the circumstances.
Food was excellent. Outdoor dining extremely comfortable.
Food is always excellent. Service by Erica is superb!
Excellent service, exceptional food. Don’t let COVID19 keep you away from this perfect, socially distant, CDC compliant dining experience. Perfect for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner.
Accommodates large parties, a true plus in COVID times! Staff was beyond nice, very outstanding!
Plenty of outdoor seating under tent in parking lot. Food was of average quality but quite a bit overpriced
