Personable and attentive staff. The food was very, very good. We were visiting in Edinburgh and managed a second visit during our 7 days there, we liked it so much.
Really good restaurant serving a good mix of small plates and interesting combos, good wine list and also good service
Lovely seafood in very ambient and stylish surroundings. Staff had very good knowledge of the menu and dishes. Great for a group booking
Everything was excellent with Edinburgh prices
What a fab night - again! I can’t get enough of this place. The food is excellent and the staff really know their stuff are fun and make the evening. This is my favourite Edinburgh restaurant.
Nice ambiance and good service but food taste is definitely over rated.
Surprising find with exceptional food. Octopus and oysters were fabulous.
The morello fizz cocktail was delicious. We chose the hot seafood platter, it was presented beautifully an tasted amazing. The salted caramel ice cream with the apple tart was the best ice cream I have ever had. The service was friendly. Will certainly be visiting again.
We had good food and excellent service from Lil. We will be back.
This is a very nice place. The seafood is wonderful- whether hot or cold. My nephew and I demolished a house platter of cold seafood. The Loch Fyne oysters were amazing. It all felt so fresh and healthy whilst being delicious.
Ordered a selection of small plates for lunch, all delicious, monkfish satay outstanding. Service excellent, decor very tasteful, want to return for oyster happy hour!
Both the food and cocteils were amazing. White Horse is the best place to eat sea food and combine with the best coctail in Edinburgh. Suitable for date, friends and families. The place is really good and the staff very kind.
Great food and very good service. Fantastic menu and drinks menu.
Being in the City Centre I didn't expect much from this place but I was so wrong. The attention to detail is incredible, even when serving drinks. The food is high quality, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We have been twice now and will definitely return again and again. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive. We love it.
Had a wonderful evening with a group of girlfriends. We enjoyed the option of the smaller sharing plates as the food was great. Staff were friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Would definitely go back if visiting Edinburgh again.
The service was fantastic and the food was gorgeous. Thank you for a beautiful evening.
This is a small quiet restaurant on Royal Mile that is a quiet haven in the turmoil of tourists. Good food; good service; good wine. Who could ask for more.
Great food especially the octopus :-)
Interesting small menu at this seafood spot just below the Royal Mile. Good tapas starters, tuna tartare in particular and the octopus. Beef and oyster pie vey good note a 20 minute wait for it and the mussels with pork cheek tasty but a bit pricy at £18. Staff trying hard and knowledgeable
Pleasant experience, good food and helpful staff. Will go again.
Had a great meal for 4 on A Saturday evening. The food, service and ambience were great. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Great service and delicious fresh fish. All of our dishes were exciting and executed to perfection. Highly recommend.
We loved this restaurant. We didn’t give 5 stars for food as we were not bowled over by the mains. However, the starters were exquisite, prosecco lovely and service excellent
Great food, wonderful presentation. Thank you for memorable dinner.
The surf and turf was disappointing. The steak was very good, it the "lobster" was a half a langastino that provided a scant two bites. The crab claw was mushy and provided a scant three bites. Great service however and the ambience good. Would go back. Just wouldn't order the Sunday's special.
Outstanding food and service. Will definitely be back.
Fresh and tasty with friendly service.
Food is always good and staff are very welcoming. Music is good however can be noisy if you are trying to have a discussion. Good selection of whisky.
Fabulous venue to celebrate my birthday! The food is outstanding, especially the monkfish satay! We chose several small plates, rather than a starter & main and felt we had loads to eat! Good drinks menu too and the premises is beautifully decorated; contemporary, understated and classy. The staff were great; very friendly & helpful. The only minor issue is that if you are of a larger build, the booths are very tight to get in and out of! We will definitely return but would ask for a table when making the booking.
Great food and good service given how busy it was - a bit of a wait for our food but it was worth it and they gave us a drink to apologise as it was unexpectedly busy and they were a little understaffed. Definitely reccomend.
First time dining at the Whitehorse oyster and I will definitely be back, very friendly staff and food was amazing.
Good food and ambience let down by slow forgetful service
Second visit to the white horse oyster bar and will definitely be back. The small plates are amazing and great way to try lots of different things. Also had the mussels which were fantastic
We visited The White Horse Oyster bar for a get-together of friends for a Sunday lunch. Three of us selected the Surf & Turf Sunday special (rib-eye with a half lobster) which was delicious. Others chose the crab and chips which they also enjoyed tremendously. The wine list looked to me to be very carefully prepared too. The service was kind and welcoming and I found the ambiance to be perfect for a relaxed Sunday lunch with friends. We are planning to return with a larger group of friends for dinner sometime soon.
This is a really fabulous and authentic sea food restaurant. The staff really know their stuff and put you at ease as soon as you enter the restaurant. The food is amazing, I would recommend the monkfish and the blackened octopus small plates over anything else!! I understand they are in the final listings for Edinburgh’s best seafood restaurant and I can see why!!
Slightly off the beaten track - though it is the High Street - week worth seeking out. Delicious food - the exterior belies the delicious food you will be cooked and served - the cocktails are delicious too!
Spent a week in Edinburgh and this was easily the best meal we had. We started with oysters, charred octopus and cured salmon (which had a nice kick). Each was incredible. My lemon sole was one of the best fish dishes I’ve had in recent years and my wife loved the mussels and fries. We had a small, picky eater and pre-teen with us, and the staff were incredibly accommodating, making our pre-teen a special non-alcoholic mixed drink that she said was yummy and accommodating our son with plain pasta. Excellent service and very nice ambiance. If you are in Edinburgh, this is a must try.
Great place , fabulous cocktails and excellent food . I would highly recommend a visit .
Great menu. Fantastic interior design. Will definitely be back.
Great for oysters / happy hour “buck a shuck” and Wednesday lobster dinner special. A descent beer selection on tap and bottled. Staff was happy, attentive and helpful.
