Although the food was lovely we were very surprised at the tiny portions - I am not a big eater and even I was left hungry after. The sharing plates are definitely not big enough to share! Won’t be back I’m afraid

Enjoyed the evening. The review reflects that. Lots of good but fussy restaurants. Eating out should be quality and fun, unless pomp and circumstance is sought.

I have been several times and the standard has been consistently high - the eclectic nature of the seafood and the imaginative combinations are particularly noteworthy.

The food is OK but there were unacceptable waits and lack of organisation in service.

Oysters and small plates were very very good. The service started great but went downhill. Slow but well intentioned. Just need more staff.

The food was good. I would recommend the house platter to couples because I think it is too much for two ladies. The Pink Flamingo was very tasty! Strongly recommend!

Apon arrival both myself and my girlfriend were greeted by the bartender... As we were early for dinner we decided to have a few drinks before sitting down, the quality of their drinks is amazing, specially when u have a bartender speaking about the process of the drink as he makes it...
As we sat down, we quickly glanced at the menu, deciding to have some oysters and a sharing platter, and what an option that was, nothing was to fault, service was superb, food was amazing, drinks even better. Both myself and my girlfriend left the restaurant with a massive smile on our faces.

We thought we were going to have a treat there after looking at the review.
First we got a noisy table close to the kitchen. Then when we ordered a bottle of white wine from France we got a bottle from Chile. When we queried if that was a mistake, we were told they run out of the one from France. But didn’t they thought of informed us first.
Food was lousy and cold. Seafood was not fresh at all.
A very disappoint evening !!!!!

We had a lovely evening and really loved our waitress Lilly. She was fun and made our evening more enjoyable with her banter and her wine and food recommendations. The oysters were fantastic and the seared Tuna absolutely gorgeous. I loved the small plates menu, right up my street. Thank you!

First time here since rebranded and loved it - a new place in Edinburgh to come for seafood . We had a variety of starters followed by the hot platter shared between 6 of us. Did only come with one bowl of fries so we needed to order another two but every single dish was delicious and different from the other seafood eateries in town . Can particularly recommend the kimchi oysters .
Deserts great also and staff excellent
Cosy fitting in 6 of us in in a banquette table but made for good conversation. If you are on the larger size it would be worth asking for a bigger table if there are that number.
We will go back

Thoroughly enjoyed dining at the White Horse. My husband and I loved the small delicious plates and our 11 year old daughter loved her steak. Everything was excellent. Would definitely come back and would highly recommend.

This is my go to spot for oysters in Edinburgh. There are others that are very good, but when your partner "doesn't do oysters", you have to have a menu that will be attractive to them. The seafood is imaginative and very well done. It can get pricey if you have three courses, but we tend to order a few starters (along with my oysters) and that is more than enough.

The morello fizz cocktail was delicious. We chose the hot seafood platter, it was presented beautifully an tasted amazing. The salted caramel ice cream with the apple tart was the best ice cream I have ever had. The service was friendly. Will certainly be visiting again.

This is a very nice place. The seafood is wonderful- whether hot or cold. My nephew and I demolished a house platter of cold seafood. The Loch Fyne oysters were amazing. It all felt so fresh and healthy whilst being delicious.
