Lovely evening, staff were really good and looked after us. Food was of a very good standard, not a cheap evening, however worth everything penny.

I cannot recommend this restaurant, it is one of the most disappointing experiences I have had in a restaurant, especially one that is so expensive. The Sunday lunch was lukewarm at best, which is criminal not to serve hot food. The cleanliness of the restaurant was disgusting, . At the foot of our table was a big stain of what looked like strawberries or raspberries that had been dropped and not cleaned up properly. We could see under other tables that looked similar. We were sat next to a young family with a screaming child and very young children that were walking around the restaurant, unattended touching other guests! Admittedly that isn’t the restaurant’s fault. We went here for our anniversary and it certainly wasn’t romantic. All round really poor, the only redeeming feature was the service of the staff which was very good, but we certainly won’t be going back. I have had way better experiences at Toby carvery’s that is how bad the experience was.

I’d like to call out one of the waiters, Jack who served us on the night who was terrific and really attentive. We returned for dinner the following night and having heard about my son’s interest in wine (he’s 10 & is obsessed with becoming a sommelier haha ) and did a little session on different wines and how to taste wine (obviously our son did none of the drinking but mummy and daddy enjoyed this part!). They gave him a cute gift of a wine bottle opener as a memento. Our son was very inspired and had a great time. The food was really good! Expensive dishes but the produce was great. The seafood was great.

Our usual haunts are Limewood and Chewton Glen to both eat and stay. For my Husbands birthday I thought that we would try something new and this was out first visit to Wild Carrot. I appreciate that it was in the school holidays but having read their dining etiquette I felt comfortable that if there were children present, they wouldn't be running around. This wasn't quite the case. It was unfortunate that we were the only table that didn't have children on, which was out of the hands of the restaurant. But there were children running around, it was noisy and one child had an electronic device with the most annoying repetitive sound. The food and cocktails were good, but not outstanding or anything particularly special. The ambience of the restaurant wasn't to my liking, it was noisy and sounded like being in a canteen, the seating space also looked a little tired. The actual bar area as we entered looked beautiful but the rest did disappointment. It just had that 'special' dining experience missing that we are usually used to. I cannot fault the staff, they were very attentive and friendly. Probably the best part.

Place was very nice. Service was good and friendly. We were seated surrounded by noisy people in a restaurant that was 1/3 full! Ridiculous when it was obvious that we didn’t want to be next to screaming children we asked to move and they dumped us still close to the children instead of away from they! Very poor! Sadly the Cod was far too salty inedible !! Ruined the evening as it was my wife’s birthday and it was her main course! Try as they did no coming back from that£40 main course which they ruined!

We have been before and it was excellent but sadly on sunday I took my mum and my two children (3Y and 0.6Y) for lunch hoping we could have a long relaxed sunday lunch. £205 for 2 adults and a toddler eating (no wine) should make it very good but sadly it just wasn't. The food was pretty average (2 tasteless caesar salads and a very greasy fish and chips) and the service was quite intense. We had a booking for a late lunch and they seemed most interested in getting us clear so they could set up for dinner service. We were asked 4 times if we were ready to order while i was clearly trying to calm and feed a crying baby! They brought the mains out while the starters were clearly on the table being eaten, tried to clear the starters before we were all finsihed and then brought the bill without me asking. Frankly, I have had better lunches at Pizza Express.......

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. The service was superb and we felt well looked after, but the staff were not overly intrusive. We were celebrating a family even and we were all made to feel quite special.
