Waiting staff were super lovely. Really looked after us
30th birthday dinner for my wife - celebrated with some friends and it was a lovely experience. From the host to the waiters, service was very accommodating. Will be back very soon
While the food was quite tasty and well-presented, the restaurant under-delivered on value for money in terms of service and overall experience. We waited almost two hours for our main courses to arrive. We continually had to flag down wait staff to ask for drinks, water, etc. Our presence felt like an afterthought. While we were offered a dessert and drink as recompense, the overall feeling was still one of disappointment, given so many fine restaurants in the city.
Marina and Stephanie were both wonderful. Food was insanely good, vibe was wonderful too. Thank you for making our night so special!
Food was delicious and the restaurant is gorgeous but the service was TERRIBLE - all the tables around us were being seated and served faster than us. It took almost an hour to get our first bottle to wine and appetisers, and 2 hours from sitting down to get to our main course! Thankfully the company was wonderful so we didn’t notice the time racing by, but can’t thank the restaurant for that!
We sat down at 7.30, ordered the 8 course tasting menus, it was 10.05pm when we got our third course, 12.10am when we had our last! We were the only ones left in the restaurant!
The food was good, the speed of service terrible. The serving staff were pleasant and helpful but let down by the kitchen staff.
Pricing was expensive for just starters we even left after starters, food took an hour and a half.Very disappointing.
We had a lovely dining experience at Wild Honey St James. We chose the taster menu with wine flight and every course was very special and delicious.
Service was excellent and attentive, however charging £22 for one scallop is an egregious example of price gouging to add insult to injury it wasn’t well prepared. The beef, while well rested, was a massive slab of slightly alarming pink and pretty tough to cut through. Maybe Chef was off last night but Oligarch pricing demands Michelin star perfection in the food. Appreciate the clientele will be mostly transient guests of the hotel, however, without a loyal and local customer base to book tables on wet Tuesday nights in March, the restaurant will inevitably follow in the footsteps of the two previous incumbents which would be a shame for the service staff.
Very enjoyable meal with attentive service. Particularly enjoyed the lamb.
Excellent restaurant, great location, delicious food. Slow service but otherwise fabulous.
Situated in a grand room with high ceilings, the restaurant is a pleasant place with comfortable chairs and spacious tables. The food was excellent with flavourful dishes like pigs cheeks and oxtail to choose from. The cod was well looked and offered a lighter choice. Vegetable options present but not tried. The custard pudding was superb. We may have had the apprentices at lunch but service was very friendly but clueless! No aperitif or wine list was offered and when an order was finally placed, it was slow to arrive. A little more training would help!
A great venue for a relaxed evening
And a sublime culinary experience.
The tart tatine was the best ever!
A small but innovative menu. A good option for business meetings or alternatively a date night. Staff friendly but knowledgeable and attentive. Would highly recommend.
An excellent pre-theatre meal on Saturday evening – superb food and superb service.
Wonderful food, set menu was very good value, recommend the chicken
What happened to this once great restaurant - it has morphed into a Hotel restaurant without any of the charm of the original restaurant in its previous setting...Poor service from the start and at the end when we were trying for 20 minutes to pay! Good food but not of the same standard and attention to detail as the original Wild Honey -such a shame.
Fabulous food not quite matched by front of house team who were well-meaning but not really on it. 25mins for the first glass of wine to arrive and order to be taken? Grrr. At these prices, it ought to be the full package.
Perfect venue for a 'girls'" lunch. Lovely airy room, delicious food and discreet but friendly staff. Went for the set lunch menu - 3 options for each course & could have chosen any of them. Bread and substantial chocolates/canales/fudge were complementary. A real treat
Great food, let down by very poor service and totally unnecessarily loud music being played from the bar next door.
Not a patch on the old restaurant in Mayfair.
Exceptional food, wine and service - couldn't fault it.
Lovely restaurant with very good service. The food on the set lunch menu was excellent and not bad value for money. I would definitely go again.
Great food with matching wine… the cheese croquettes are a definite must have, they were delicious
Lunch menu was great but portions were small
On arrival we were shown to a table extremely close to 2 other tables. Very strange in Covid times. We were given a one sheet menu with little choice. The main courses were £39.
We were not happy with this so we walked out. When retrieving our coats we were not even asked why we were leaving !
Great place for a special occasion. I had the pork terrine , cod and tart . My wife the burrata chicken and sorbet. All nice . My only quibble would be small portion of cod. They marked my wife’s birthday with a candle on cookies.
Very attentive and sympathetic service .
Having dined here before I was looking forward to another visit. Food was ok but not marvellous. Service was fine until we wanted the bill when we were ignored for ages. A curate's egg experience.
Unfortunately the service at breakfast was very slow. The staff were pleasant enough but not a great location for a business breakfast.
We had a 8 course taster menu:
The food was great, although 4 courses of dessert was quite a lot.
The waitress serving us was very attentive and nice making it a pleasant evening.
Even though I said this was a special occasion for a 70th birthday, no recognition was given whatsoever to this.
The restaurant was empty on one side and yet we were squashed next to another table, whjch was extremely uncomfortable given we are still in the midst of a global pandemic. The staff did not ask if we were comfortable to sit there and we were not offered another table. The food was ok, but the dessert was very bland. Overall I wasn’t entirely impressed and feel my £130 was not money well spent.
Another lovely, relaxed experience at WH. Food was perfectly judged as usual and the 3 course daily lunch represents excellent value.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Great service, excellent food and helpful staff
Excellent food. The tasting menu is good value and allows you to try a good range of things from the menu. Service was attentive and friendly. The only thing that marred our experience was being overcharged for a drink. I’m sure this was a mistake and was quickly rectified. The tables around the edge are also rather close together so you can hear the conversations either side of you.
