We are a small, family run restaurant since 2002 specialising in carefully sourced Aberdeen Angus beef from Scottish small highland farms, cooked simply but with flair and attention to detail.
Our emphasis is on high quality local ingredients and fresh produce from the best of local suppliers. Beef is selected, prepared and hung for us by Award wining "John Gilmour" of Macmerry master butchers since 1946. Fresh fish are delivered daily by Calum Sinclair and J.K Thompsons. West coast Mussels are delivered fresh daily by "Sea Mcgee". Our venison comes from wild Perthshire deer, lamb from the Scottish Borders. Artisan and farmhouse British cheeses are supplied by renowned Edinburgh cheesemonger, Iain Mellis and dairy produce from Fife Creamery. We take pride to cook everything fresh in our own kitchen daily.
We have outside seating arrangements for walk-Ins only.

We had a wonderful meal, we all had steaks and they were cooked to perfection . The staff were super friendly.

Food was excellent - the steak was perfectly cooked and the fish pie was delicious. Has been a while since we have been however will be back soon.

What a great find. Steaks were succulent and perfectly cooked. The fish pie was also a big hit. Great atmosphere and good service. Glad we booked in advance as they were turning people away. Highly recommend for evening meal.

Food and service was very good. Only minor gripe was that menu different to that on website and ribeye no longer available as an upgrade on set lunch menu

This was a fantastic meal. The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. The sticky toffee pudding was exceptional, but everything was great. Also: what a great playlist. We loved it and will absolutely come back next time we’re in Edinburgh.

Wonderful, cozy little spot with fantastic service and even better food! Had some of the plumpest, tastiest mussels and truly one of the most well-seasoned, perfectly medium-rare steaks I've had anywhere. I cannot begin to imagine why we were able to get a reservation for 4 on a Sunday night during the Fringe Festival when we looked 30 minutes ahead of time. It did fill up after we arrived, but it should have been much harder to score a reservation at this awesome place!
