Locals were taken to there seats. We were told just go in. Had to ask fir table service. Sent chips out to us that were not edible. All ends and so greasy. Told waitress. Response off chef was must have been the potato. Hmmm a greasy potato. No offer to rectify the problem. Kids meal was better than main meal
Lovely restaurant, staff are really friendly. Went for lunch however there was not a lot on the menu and don’t recall seeing anything on the website that the menu would be so restricted.
Great food and lovely staff. Would recommend. Reasonable prices
Great atmosphere for a family lunch.
Comfortable setting and friendly service. Recommend.
Food and service was fantastic, we thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday dinners and couldn’t get over just how much food we got for the cost! We can’t recommend the William De Percy enough!
Very welcoming, good service, great food, the perfect meeting place with family from both sides of the border.
One of the best Sunday Lunches Ive had. I would 100% reccomend.
Lighting a bit too dark for my mum who is partially sighted
Food was good value and well cooked, not great vegan options if that's what you need. Service was spotty with some good and some poor, given the benefit of the doubt it might be due to new restrictions but unlikely.
Limited pre 1700 menu. Not enough staff serving drinks. Music not working in outdoor seating area. Flames on fountain not working. Generally not very clean in outdoor area. Breakfast nice.
Great place, great food, very friendly.Would recommend.
Yorkshire puddings the size of your head AND extra gravy. Heaven!
Compared with other local venues this came out on top on all categories including the views of our guests on this Sunday lunch
Very limited lunch menu and not everything available.
The crepes were wonderful. Both the savoury variety (I had the prawn and crab, while my wife had the ham hock), and the sweet variety. Beautiful food served in a wonderful and welcoming enviroment by friendly, attentive staff.
We intend to return many times.
We had a wonderful meal at William de Percy. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was beautiful - absolutely excellent value for money. A lovely pub with a lovely atmosphere (we are big fans of dog friendly pubs!). We look forward to coming again when we next holiday in the area.
Food was gorgeous, service was really good even though they were understaffed. You would never have known though as the standard of service was extremely good. Happily give 5 ⭐
Good food, good atmosphere, fair price and the staff very helpful and pleasant. Request for a high chair and space for a pram accommodated as well
Staff seemed a little overstretched. It was difficult to get service but food was nice. No touches to rate over good - food or service but all acceptable. We put it down to reopening reorganisation as everything had the potential to be better. I wouldn’t be 100% about recommending.
First week after lockdown so understandably some teething issues. Staff were very pleasant, although a bit harried, and drinks were slow arriving. We had the steak frites, and the steak was well seasoned and juicy and cooked just to our taste, and the Parmesan and truffle fries were crispy and very tasty. However we thought that for around £18 the portion sizes were rather small. We were disappointed with the garden salad as it had a very odd-tasting dressing, but when we queried it staff were happy to replace it with another, which was delicious. We finished with the cheese board, which came with sourdough crackers but without the promised date bread. The cheeses had obviously been well kept, but two of the three were rather too strongly flavoured for my partner, reminiscent of a danish blue and an applewood cheddar; the brie-type cheese was pleasant and perfectly ripened. We also had the Valrhona chocolate crepe, which was nice, and came with a delicious coulis made from strawberries macerated with mint. To drink we tried the Alnwick ale and an IPA which were very good, if a little too chilled for us oldies, who prefer our beer a bit more room temp. We didn’t have the two mojito royales which somehow made their way onto our bill, but these were removed when we objected. All in all, this was a nice introduction back to normality, and we would definitely come back here when things are hopefully running a bit more smoothly.
Good quality food and excellent attentive service . great value for money ..
Fish and chips very nice with very nice hand cut fries
Stottie with steak and chips, the coleslaw was a little too rich maybe.
Room was very nice and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and the Mediterranean terrace was lovely
We were staying nearby & read excellent reviews. We had the chicken with the slaw & flat breads, it was so delicious & I loved the fact that the flavours were bold & loved the chilli kick. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which was light but absolutely delicious!
Excellent friendly service too.
We actually returned the second evening too...it was busier, but really friendly atmosphere. The fish pie was gorgeous & my friends really rated their steak.
I wish this was my local!
Thankyou, a real find. 😊
PS. I may have lost a small moonstone earring. If by chance you find it from Thursday evening, then please let me know. Thankyou.
Disappointing meal. Beef was tough and sinewy. Mashed potato was floury, not creamy and buttery as stated on the menu. Gravy was the same for both meals despite being different meats. Whole meal lacked flavour. I told waiting staff that I couldn’t eat the beef and was told the chef would be told but there was no apology or reduction from the bill.
Desserts lacklustre, crepe was a leathery English pancake . Young staff friendly but food below par in all respects. First and last visit.
Brilliant Sunday lunch, lovely staff & dog friendly. What more do you need? :)
Would have liked a side option for vegetables or salad ...... we had steak frites.
Head waiter was such a lovely man with great service.
Lovely atmostphere. Great service and delicious food. Would recommend.
Wow...what a find.
Need I say anymore.
Lovely food and cocktails. Fire pits were atmospheric. Would recommend pre-booking a week in advance for the weekend.
Booked in for a tea time meal for two with our springier, staff friendly , food and service good nice pub
A very relaxing place. I booked this for my husbands 50th and our Annette venue was outstanding very Covid safe, reasonably priced and staff were great would definitely recommend and U look forward to returning
Me and my partner had the BEST NIGHT EVER. We stayed in room 2 it was absolutely perfect, couldn't thank the staff enough for looking after us, they were so lovely and happy to be at work considering the circumstances. The food was absolutely delicious too.

The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. The food tasted great and was good value. Some good drinks available too.
We had a nice family meal here last week. Despite the usual Covid precautions it feel as usual at it could at present.
Decent menu and drink selection and attentive staff
Good Sunday lunch, good value, we’ll cooked and vegan options too
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic friendly staff, great food.
Will definately be back, food was amazing and we were served by a lovely man who couldn't do enough for us.
