We stopped in Otterburn for the weekend and booked for Saturday evening meal with my parents, our children and 2 cockapoos. The bar area and restaurant was lovely and staff very pleasant. We were seated promptly and water bowls brought for our poochies. The waiter was very attentive, checking drink refills etc. The food we ordered was delicious and didn't take long either. All in all we had a very lovely evening. We would most definitely come again.Thank you

Really nice restaurant, staff are lovely and very helpful, service was a little slow but you expect that with freshly cooked produce. Spelling on the menu was a bit iffy which is surprising for an outfit as experienced as this (they also run the Joiners Arms and Newton Hall amongst others) e.g Paremsan (Parmesan) on main menu and Peas (Pease) Pudding on specials. On a positive note the two dogs were also made really welcome with their own water bowl provided.

We came as we were at LPC for the wedding fair. We had 3 courses each and cocktails on the Saturday evening then went back for Sunday lunch the next day it was that good. Food was delicious, plentiful, well presented and good value. Even the drinks were reasonably priced.

We highly recommend. Staff were very welcoming, friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

Disappointed. We visited as had family working in the area. I ordered a burger which had undercooked bacon inside. The burger wasn't anything to write home about. My husband described his steak as 'terrible'. Our son had the children's menu - the pudding was adult sized. It was tasty but too big for a child. We have been a couple of times and disappointed on each visit. Unlikely to return

I booked an overnight stay quite short notice for my boyfriend's 30th birthday as a surprise and couldn't have asked for more. We received a complimentary bottle of prosecco in our room on arrival and then received another glass each with our dinner, as well as my boyfriend being wished a happy birthday which was a lovely surprise. The food and service was outstanding, and the room was perfect we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be visiting again very soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay xx

I have to say it was one of the best Sunday dinners I have ever had! Tasted amazing and a good portion size. We all really enjoyed it. Came quickly and was hot. Meat was cooked perfectly.

We went for Sunday lunch. Was decent enough for the price, certainly nothing to complain about to the staff. Minor niggles - too hard carrots and roast potatoes that I suspect were cooked from frozen - not bad enough to complain about and perhaps simply not to *my* taste.

Main problem was inattentive staff. After the main course we gave up waiting for anybody to come to the table and went to the bar to pay and leave. Another couple were doing the same. Lost revenue!

Lovely food and service prompt

Was a freezing cold evening so shame the fires weren’t on ! Not so much for the heat but would have made the ambience much more welcoming and cosy

First of all, what is the point of asking, on the online booking form, if we’re celebrating a special occasion if it’s not even going to be acknowledged in the restaurant? I’d put down that it was our anniversary and we didn’t even get so much as a “Happy Anniversary “.

Secondly, don’t make excuses for poor service by saying “We have a big wedding party in the other room”. We were the only diners in the main restaurant, so the wedding party should’ve had zero impact on the level of service we received. As it was, no one came to enquire if our food was O.K. and we were left staring at empty plates for a good 20 minutes before the waitress came to clear the table and take our dessert order. We then waited another 20-25 minutes for the desserts to be brought out, and we’d ordered the cheesecake and the Eton Mess, so neither dessert required any cooking.

The food was actually pretty good, although I would dispute that the Venison Casoulet was a genuine cassoulet!

All in all a disappointing experience and we will not be returning to this restaurant.

Classy pub attached to Le Petit Chateau in the centre of Otterburn, well presented tasty food in generous portions, reasonable selection of ales and wines. Surroundings pleasant, was quite quiet when we visited for lunch in early November but probably to be expected, would imagine it’s livelier during the evening.

Nice but for the price it should of been better. Chewy meat and hard potatoes! Starter of prawns was amazing though

8 of us had sunday lunch. Yorkshire pud and meat nice. Vegetables very bland. Not particularly good value at an average of £12 a head. On top of which we were over charged until we returned the bill.

Overall great food, we ate in the restaurant 2 nights. Everything very tasty; corn fed chicken, venison sausage cassulat, the burger with sirloin steak slice, except sadly the main course vegetarian goats cheese pancake was disappointing. It lacked any sauce so was very dry. Starters and deserts were also good.

We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was great, but the restaurant and bar were so warm that we chose to sit outside as soon as we had finished our meals - if it weren't so uncomfortable we would have liked to have stayed for some more drinks and a dessert.

We had Sunday lunch, unfortunately it was a bit tasteless. I had huge hopes for my lunch and they didn't live up to them as the website says the best Sunday lunch in Northumberland. Drinks and desserts were good. Would try this place again but perhaps their regular menu

It’s a pity they have a high tech communication system between them. which is complete over the top.
Therefore hardly any contact with visitors.
Results in poor service, things are forgotten,
Disses served when the main is already on the table for a while, so late or even not at all.
This happened not only at our table, we heard more complaints around us.
And their reaction to it all is if its all quite normal.
Well, I think not. Certainly not within their entourage
Do something about it, its not worth spoiling it all.

Booked table online, and received confirmation. Shown to our table on arrival. Restaurant was fairly quiet, drinks were brought to the table. Menu catered for everyone, but kids set menu just too much for our 2yr old. Orders were taken after a bit of a wait, and starters came quickly. Toddlers need food ASAP!!! The meals were delicious, well presented and good value. Service was good, restaurant was clean. Just too full for puds!
