William’s is a multi-award-winning seafood restaurant, fishmonger, delicatessen and caterer in the heart of Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

A veritable Cotswolds institution for over forty-five years, William’s has recently benefitted from a full-scale refurbishment of both the restaurant and shop area in January 2020.

Alongside a 64-cover new restaurant sits a new fish counter displaying an outstanding range of fresh seafood, delivered daily from Scotland and the South West coastline. The adjacent delicatessen offers a large selection of chef-prepared meals, cheeses, charcuterie and terrines as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

We are proud to have been voted one of Matthew Fort’s ‘Five Favourite Places to Shop’ and one of Rick Stein’s ‘Food Heroes’.

    We visited William’s restaurant Tuesday 28th October for a delicious fish lunch with our friends. We all had a fabulous two course lunch with a bottle of French sauvignon blanc wine followed by coffees. Williams was up to its usual consistently high standard of food, service and ambience. This is our favourite fish restaurant. A huge thank you to all the staff at Williams Nailsworth.

    Food first class. We celebrated an anniversary and choose the set menu lunch. Portions were generous and quite delicious. Service was attentive and cheerful. Very pleasant experience and would use again without hesitation.

    The food was fantastic, service very friendly and helpful. The Catalan stew never disappoints - amazing. It was my daughters 21st birthday and they arrived with a pudding and candle and sang happy birthday. It was a special touch. Thank you

    Meeting friends - have visited twice before and it has always been excellent. I had the monk fish scampi - always perfectly cooked fish - would probably prefer chunky chops than skinny fries - but it was all eaten. Had coffee with truffles - a perfect way to end lunch

    Lovely setting, staff were friendly and service was very good. Food was absolutely delicious. Lovely touch bringing cake with a candle and singing to customers with a birthday. A perfect lunch out for my 87 year old mum.

    Absolutely delicious gravalax followed by superb melt-in-the-mouth hake. A little disappointed by the desserts - White chocolate ganache tart with braised pear, and a raspberry and strawberry creme brulé, both of which seemed lacking in flavour.

    We had booked 2:30 prix fixed lunch ( the only slot available) Felt a bit rushed throughout and then couldn’t relax over coffee as the machine had been switched off and the shop was cleared out so couldn’t have bought fresh fish if we had wanted to

    Another good lunch at William's with excellent fish soup to start. For once the service was not quite up to the usual very high standard but no doubt this is a blip and it was still better than most of the competition.

    My wife and I both had a fabulous main course (hake and sole) and loved the staff and atmosphere here. I scored “down” in a couple of areas because there was a lack of GF options, would have loved to see prawns on the starter menu and thought the drinks menu could’ve benefited from a few more cocktail options. Overall though, a lovely evening out and would recommend to friends and family.

    Everything was fabulous. Epic food and good value for high quality. Venue was fab, reminded me of fish houses in Cornwall which we like. Definitely going back. I did think the home made lemonade we has was quite over priced at just over £7 per serving. Won't order that again.

    Greeted and seated quickly on arrival. Such an impressive range of fish on the menu. Scallops just perfect, yummy. Rolled lemon sole with a sauce that was dreamy rich and the hake with chorizo crust so much flavour, amazing service, all washed down with 2 glasses of fine wines. Thank you, we will be back fir sure.

    Came up to our normal expectations, garlic prawns were brilliant and my wife’s broil was exceptional. Serving staff very friendly and attentive. Ordered our Christmas fish supplies and have booked a table for the day we collect.

    Excellent selection of fresh fish dishes on a la carts menu. The fixed price menu was a bit disappointing, including a sausage and bean dish and gnocchi in tomato sauce as two out of four choices. Another fish choice would have been welcome.
