A veritable Cotswolds institution for over forty-five years, William’s has recently benefitted from a full-scale refurbishment of both the restaurant and shop area in January 2020.
Alongside a 64-cover new restaurant sits a new fish counter displaying an outstanding range of fresh seafood, delivered daily from Scotland and the South West coastline. The adjacent delicatessen offers a large selection of chef-prepared meals, cheeses, charcuterie and terrines as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.
We are proud to have been voted one of Matthew Fort’s ‘Five Favourite Places to Shop’ and one of Rick Stein’s ‘Food Heroes’.

Excellent fresh fish on an ever revolving menu served by very friendly staff. You can't bear it
Would definitely go again and recommend to friends.
Friendly reception on arrival, well made explanation for table not being ready (previous diners had clearly enjoyed themselves!) and friendly + first rate service. We all had fish for out main course and the chef very obviously knows how to cook it in away with maintains its taste, moisture and texture. All in all an excellent dinner.
Fantastic food. Rather a shame we were asked to leave after one hour and 15 minutes! Would have liked a coffee!
We went with friends for their anniversary meal, the staff were very attentive checking that every course that came out was ok. The quality was good and well presented. There could have been a few more choices of starter, we had the the mozerella starter was a very big bit of cheese, too much. I had the tuna which was lovely but the french fries which came with it were something and nothing might be better with a triple cooked chip. The Brioche pudding was very nice.
Worth a visit.
Fresh tasty food, good booking system, reasonably priced wine, would go again.
If you’re a fish lover you won’t find anywhere better
Lunch was lovely. Perfectly cooked fish, delicious, chosen from a well balanced menu. Great choice of wines, really friendly and professional service. We will be back soon.
Beautiful tuna and habit with intestine salads and vegetables.
Nicely busy but not too frantic.
Plenty if excellent staff.
Our meal was very enjoyable, the quality of ingredients, taste and fariety were lovely. We are already planning our next trip back!
Went for an anniversary meal. sat outside under umbrella and lovely willow tree. Road noise was not intrusive. Welcome and service were excellent as was the food we ate - I enjoyed brill and my wife had sea' bass -both superb. Pannacotta to follow -good size and excellent. We must return soon!
Food was so fresh and delicious, wonderful variety on the menu and the staff were so attentive. Would highly recommend.
Very nice setting and good food. Quite expensive.
A hidden gem! My sister recommended me to this restaurant because I love Seafood. Williams is indeed a great restaurant and certainly worth a visit .
Two of our guests were a little disappointed with their Tuna steaks(enormous size) as they were slightly over cooked which was pleasantly acknowledged and professionally dealt with.
I will be returning with more family members …..
Excellent food and service, but not really good for a pre dinner drink and they operate a two sitting system which I am not fond of.
Poor menu choices for customers who don’t like fish.
We had booked for inside but it was a nice day and we were able to sit outside, which was lovely. Service was efficient and friendly. We had a very late lunch, but the food was absolutely outstanding. 3 of us had the Lemon Sole, which was so fresh and delicious. I of us had the gratin and wished she'd had the Sole as we were raving about it. I can't criticize anything. Loved the wine, the food and the service. We will be back!!
Much better than the River cafe in quality of food and value
Lovely food and surroundings, well looked after by all staff. Very enjoyable experience all round.
Food is nice and of good quality, but was hoping for more considering the price. Good service and a very smart restaurant, can get noisy when busy
Menu was good, setting was excellent. I had a seared tuna steak which was amazing, served on one of the nicest salads, but came with the sort of French fries you would get at a fast food restaurant!! Apart from that the food and ambience were excellent.
Had a fab night celebrating my birthday with husband and best friends. Food was amazing and staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Lovely touch of singing happy Birthday and presenting a surprise brownie with a candle.
The reputation for excellent seafood was well met. Attentive and friendly staff, and prompt service added to the experience. We're lucky to have such a high quality restaurant so close to home.
We had fish soup, halibut and crab with salad, all excellent.
The food was excellent, as was the service and the sun was shining! If you like fish, you’ll love William’s.
Excellent food. Had outside table - a little noisy as overlooking a roundabout.
Chosen as a venue for a birthday lunch and specifically wanted a fish restaurant, not disappointed with the food or service. Only slightly spoilt by the noise from the roadworks but nothing the venue could do about that. Would definitely visit again.
We had a lovely lunch at Williams. We had a table booked for outside, but as the weather was quite cold we luckily could have a table inside. It was my partners birthday and they surprised him by singing happy birthday with a piece of chocolate brownie which was a nice surprise! Food was all very nice, would recommend to anyone!
This is our third visit in as many weeks, this place is something special. The food is fresh tasty and beatifully presented. The staff are great, they know their menus and it really is service with a smile. Top of our dining out list.
Fresh and delicious. the food is always good at Williams. A lovely birthday treat for my sister.
Service was friendly and helpful. It would be helpful if lobster claws could be cracked, in the kitchen, before coming to the table.
Wonderful restaurant. Beautifully cooked fish , quality ingredients, super ambience, friendly staff and attentive service. Really could not fault the meal . Lobster, Halibut, Tuna all cooked to perfection .
Wonderful team and incredible food, can’t wait to return! Thanks so much :)
Outstanding in almost every department, great setting and both my scallops and tuna were perfection. Service friendly and accommodating
Only thing that let it down a star was a very poor dessert, the posset had far too much gelatine in it so it dampened things slightly
Would still highly recommend for a meal
My sister & I had a very lovely evening at Williams. It was our first visit. The halibut was beautifully cooked & the accompaniments were flavourful & delicious. The staff were very relaxed & fun in an efficient & entertaining way. We will happily return. Thank you.
Fresh tasting food in a relaxed environment.
Always the best seafood for miles around. Lovely staff, very efficient and friendly.
Much improved in an ambiance and comfort, both inside and externally. The food is of a good standard well presented and well served by an energetic group of young waiters .and waitresses. No Restaurant these days is cheap and the prices seem to have risen considerably since pre-Covid days but if you want an enjoyable lunch in the lovely surroundings in a pleasant little village then this is your stop.
A most enjoyable first visit. Menu varied and not too long. Food super and excellent attentive (but not over so) service.
