This is my favourite place in Dublin for a weekend brunch. I would highly recommend it. Service is great and views are fantastic. I love the ambience too.
This time around is was quieter than usual, but as expected in Covid times.
They have a reduced menu and that could be a flaw for some people, but since I am not eating there everyday I can live with it. :-) Delicious bread & butter...
My husband and I had the early bird menu which was very good value. The food was lovely and the service extremely efficient and friendly. I had the salmon terrine starter which was very tasty and the Doran's hake which was delicious and very light. My husband had the black pudding starter which he enjoyed and the duck. We finished up with a cheese board which had a lovely selection of Irish cheeses. Our server was very polite and friendly, so overall a lovely experience.
Oh and an excellent wine selection is also available!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Excellent service, delicious food very beautifully presented and lovely ambience. We’ll definitely be back, many thanks to the wonderful staff.
Too crowded with tables- noise level too loud to hold a conversation. Food portions small but food was good overall.
This restaurant has the nicest dining room, we were seated on a second floor by a big window with view of river. Food was very affordable, we had Early Bird menu: beetroot salad and smoked salmon terrine for starters, for main we had duck and hake. Everything was excellent, servis was professional and friendly.
Super meal for two with lovely service. Thanks guys!
Such a lovely restaurant! Amazing, fresh tasting food in a beautiful setting.
As excellent as ever a perfect mix of Irish staples cooked to an exceedingly high standard. The staff where excellent and knowledgeable about both the menu and what wine go best with each dish.
Literally booked The Winding Stair on Open Table 6 mins before arrival. Brian & Noel and all The Team got us settled immediately and when asked to "surprise us" they did so with every course...and every glass of wine. Beautiful setting overlooking the iconic Halfpenny Bridge in the heart of Dublin. Magical!
Food was delicious especially the seafood chowder. Service very good. Good atmosphere but able to have a conversation. I would recommend
Food was not usual standard to what I have had before. Two of the table had steaks. One steak was requested to be medium rare and it came well done which is not what was requested. The fish course was ok but not amazing. Ordered the bread and butter pudding which is normally amazing but there were dryer pieces of bread in it than normal.
Always an absolute pleasure to visit this restaurant; everything works!
Return customers and not disappointed as usual. Great service and tables well spaced out due to covid 19 but did not affect the atmosphere of dining room. Quality food and excellent wine selection. Will be back again soon.
Great mains, service very good, desert wasn’t amazing but overall very pleasant
Great 3course deal nice tables spread apart very well. Very good service
Fabulous food as always, I would highly recommend it .
Great food and service. All safety measures in place without ruining the ambiance. Highly recommend.
excellent restaurant would recommend highly to anyone
The food is amazing. The staff are very friendly and professional - COVID 19 measures are in place and are very reassuring. Possibly my favorite restaurant in Dublin.
Brilliant loved celebrating my partners birthday with her there
Tasty, delicious food, good service, helpful staff highly recommended to visit The Winding Stair.
Great restaurant, staff super friendly and all relevant precautions taken without making us feel uncomfortable.. great food. Look forward to returning
We had a lively meal and were never made to feel rushed. The service was fantastic. The obvious Covid measures were excellent and not intrusive. Would highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.
Excellent meal with good Covid 19 precautions taken.
Lovely evening in the Winding Stair Restaurant. Food was delicious & staff were very helpful. The restaurant is well laid out for Covid-19 control as it is a large room with plenty of space between tables, but also has a good social atmosphere - definitely recommend.
Excellent dinner on Sunday eve! What a joy to dine in the Winding Stair again! Covid 19 precautions were meticulous and we were warmly welcomed and felt safe and happy throughout.
Black pud and pigs cheek fritters were delicious and still dreaming of the roasted hake with seaweed dumplings!! Super friendly, professional staff and outstanding cooking made this the best dining experience in years.
Lovely meal. Excellent work making it covid safe , wile retaining a lovely atmosphere and great service.
I had a small bowl of Chowder €15 which was tasteless, and the vegetables under cooked. Main was small but adequate, desert was awful, sickly sweet and microwaved and the wine overly expensive compared to comparable restaurants . overall a bit disappointing
Excellent ambiance and surroundings looking over the river Liffey. The service was friendly and warm. Social distancing measures in place.
The vegetarian options on the menu lacked a little substance or dimension and felt somewhat like afterthoughts on the menu.
However the creative menu shows great promise for future visits so I will be looking out for a new offering to make another visit.
Food very poor quality and average. Could do better myself. Was really looking forward to coming to the winding stairs. 😡😞👎
The winding stairs was a lovely restaurant. The service was very good and genuine and the food was outstanding. The ambiance was quiet but that’s only due to the restrictions. I have been there before for lunch and the atmosphere was hopping.
Great place. Really enjoyed the view and the staff were very helpful a d accommodating
A fantastic meal, great service and welcome and a feeling that it was a special night out. Highly recommended!
Always a pleasure ! Great food and staff, will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful evening, great excitement getting out for our first dinner since easing of lockdown. Perfect choice, food , service and ambience were all top class!
The cockles and mussels were amazing. Also had the soup of the day. Fantastic! Beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend it.
Delicious food, very friendly, attentive, unintrusive service. Dined here with a friend after Christmas, she has since brought her husband back and so have I. Worth the journey from Laois. Looking forward to my next visit.
Lovely location overlooking the river, beautiful food with nice portion sizes, good wine, good service, not cheap but good value for the quality. Seasonal ingredients.
Well...recommended by friends and by the guidebook. Food was quite good, but overpriced. V,good wine cellar. One wait staff member was very good; the other, superior.Even when we had a SMALL negative comment, not even as much as a ‘sorry’, but rather, met with disdain! We’ve dined in some of the best restaurants in the world. If this is Dublin’s best....over-rated, ‘over-indulgent’ and overpriced!
Outstanding food and excellent wine selection. Good value if you go for pre-theatre menu. Service and view great too. Can't wait to return one day!
