The food was decent. the portions were less than average. The fixed menu lacks any non-red meat options. The one Vegetarian option was pretty bad. The prices DID NOT match the quality of the meat served.
The Cocktails were only Wine based and decent.
The service and ambiance were good but for the price of the food it is overpriced.
Absolutely stunning food, beautifully (but unpretentiously) prepared and cooked - worth a detour. In a charming, light-filled room overlooking the Liffey - one of the best meals overall we’ve had in a very long time.
Amazing food! Everything was to a very high standard- among the best in Dublin at this price point. Very creative, beautifully cooked, high quality ingredients. Lovely room- a little noisy- but full of character. I’ll be back for sure.
Great location. Staff friendly and helpful. Food very good.
Fab food as always. One of the city’s best. Service excellent
I love this restaurant. So good to be back indoors eating great food with the best view of Dublin. I have never had a bad experience here
Really delicious food on the upstairs terrace, staff were so helpful and it all felt very safe from a COVID point of view. Highly recommend this gem
Absolutely fantastic evening. Food, staff, everything incredible from start to finish. Highly recommend!!
Good selection of fish dishes (and meat too), attentive service, great location
Excellent lunch, great service, lovely spot, will go again once we can. would recomend.
Fantastic place for beautiful food and electric atmosphere!! Highly recommended! Great staff too!!
Best chips I can remember! Lovely night
Good food, attentive service, plenty of water without having to keep asking for it, which is very much appreciated. Tablecloth provided without a demur, which again was very much appreciated.
Far too expensive for what are cheap cuts if meat. Pork belly and rump steak. Really really overpriced. Mains very limited. Potatoes as a main for vegetarians?
Starter feta salad wonderful but 16.50 euro!!
Tasty food good service but found it to be relatively expensive
Nice wine selection. Good food. Pleasant service. A bit overpriced.
Lovely mal and excellent staff
This was my 4th time eating at the Winding Stairs, I really love this restaurant and had booked it for a 15th wedding anniversary, but on this occasion the food was a big disappointment. I ordered the rump steak which wash very tough and not of the high standard I've had before, it comes served with bone marrow but what was served to me was simply bone with the tiniest bit of marrow left that was charred to the bone and could not even be scraped off. My wife ordered pork belly which she had to send back as it came out with a thick layer of fat that had not been rendered down. This was replaced with a far better portion. I can only assume there are issues with the meat supplier and/or chef standards or I was just unlucky. This was not a cheap meal and there are many high end restaurants in Dublin so I will be slow to return to a place that I once regarded as a firm favourite. I should point out that the waiting staff and ambience is still first class so I hope the issues in the kitchen can be sorted quickly or perhaps they were a one off.
We had a delightful time at The Winding Stair! The gent who took care of us was so delightful and gave the perfect service - checked in with us just enough (and not too much) with the right helping of Dublin charm and humor. We loved the scratch cooking and beautiful balcony with a wonderful view of the bridge and the river. The local Irish farm fare was truly made to perfection. Best smoked salmon I have ever had. The manager/host was also very kind and called a local spot to see if there was any availability for some live music. My partner and I have both worked in hospitality and really appreciate the warm and caring service. Thanks for the stellar evening in Dublin. From Philly (US), with Love. Amanda + Allison
Excellent service with great care and humour. The outside area is really unique and perfect no matter the weather. Food was delicious and portions were perfect.
Always and still - excellent. Service casual but appropriate. Respectful but will engage happily as you do. Met at door to ensure cert and ID for vaccine. All measure in place with dividers in the restaurant too. These were nicely blended into the place and so didnt feel too weird. Food - Excellent - always and still. Small but everything lovely on it. Desserts were nice - but nothing peaked my interest. You are paying for good provenance and high quality food. Thanks
The first lovely meal out in a long time. Gorgeous restaurant food was amazing and very relaxing atmosphere. Thank you !
Excellent restaurant. Everything perfect from food, drinks and service.
Great service; even better foo. Superb wine list.
Always a great spot for amazing food and wine! The products are all sourced locally which is amazing
Wonderful food, ambiance and service. Highly recommended!
Best service we've had in quite some time! Food was gorgeous and terrace really lovely. Recommended.
Lovely restaurant good atmosphere good service, terrace is lovely nice view. The menu could be a little bit more extensive
Lovely food, warm atmosphere, good humoured staff.
Incredible food, highly accommodating staff, and a charming, intimate venue made for the perfect celebratory dining experience for my girlfriend’s birthday!
We felt very well looked after here, and the outside ambience was great. We shared the potted crab on rye which was excellent, before moving onto a delicious, very plump, rump steak cooked to our liking with the creative addition of bone marrow, and a beautifully braised pork belly with delicious crackling. My only criticism was that the apricot with the pork belly was maybe too dominant, but really the food was great. We'd like to emphasise how helpful and professional our waiter was, who had the knack of appearing when we needed him for advice and ordering, and allowing us to enjoy our meal undisturbed otherwise. The timing of the courses was just right, not rushed or too slow. This is a great restaurant with a lovely outdoor and indoor ambience, and we heartily recommend it.
A really enjoyable meal in the Winding Stair (outdoor) yesterday evening. Food was delicious, service so friendly & welcoming and the staff made the experience very comfortable by clearly observing Covid obligations like hand sanitising, distancing etc. Looking forward to my next visit!
Excellent quality food and very well presented. Service was 100% and our waiter was knowledgeable on the wine list. Great atmosphere on the rooftop outside, not too noisy.
Lovely staff and delicious food.
Excellent service, lovely outdoor setting, great food

Great Irish produce, beautifully prepared and presented. Delicious wines by the glass too.
