Excellent food served by obliging and careful staff.
Very nice meal, thank you, nicely cooked food and I like the updated menu options. The pub is very well set up for Covid safe guidelines.
All meals were delicious, staff were friendly and we all felt very safe while in the restaurant. It was so good we are going back on Friday night.
Great vegetarian nut roast with all the trimmings! Staff very helpful, very enjoyable. Of course great range of beers, wine good too! Well spaced, still good atmosphere. Really good
No real complaint but the food took a long time to come (an hour plus) likewise drinks service very slow. Staff were very pleasant however and we were two couples so had time for a good catch up. Need more staff on though I would have thought.
Great location near Salhouse broad so perfect for a walk and lunch. Some of the best beer in the UK too. Food is fine, but it’s not a gastropub by any stretch.
Fantastic food with great beer from the brewery next door
Sadly the food was underwhelming. My fish seemed small and I’m not convinced it was that fresh. My friends pork was tough.
Shame as we used to have great meals there but I wouldn’t recommend it now.
The food took around 45 mins to arrive after order and my wife's risotto had to be reheated. We were only offered a la carte menu when we know there is also another menu. Coffee was weak and did not taste good
Lovely pub with great food. Really nice menu with some different, creative foods on the a la carte menu.
It’s the place for you if you like your real ales - great choice.
Service was fantastic.
Will definitely return if we are ever down in this neck of the woods again.
Starters and main course were excellent and tasty. Sadly dessert less so, we all had creme brûlée and unfortunately the custard had curdled.
No hand sanitiser at entrance. The track & trace QR was at the entrance but it was difficult to negotiate mask, phone, coat, umbrella etc . Would be more helpful to have the QR code displayed in the restaurant, Enron the back of the menu.
Would prefer a simpler menu - more substance and less style. Aussie pubs serve straightforward dishes of plentiful food and excellent value.
Good experience. Good food and attentive staff. Felt save with Covid precautions in place. Will visit again. First experience was with Groupon and decided to return with 4 friends.
So pleased that Covid has not affected the quality of the food or service. We felt very safe.
We had Sunday lunch for four. We chose from the roast dinner menu. The food was very good. The service was excellent and the beer was good as always. We will come back on a weekday as the A la carte menu looks great, but not served on a Sunday.
Waited a hour for our meal had to send one meal back we ordered mash and vegetables came out with chips by mistake although they did take 20 percent off the bill not impressed
go and enjoy all it has to offer, you wont be disappointed.
Excellent food and service was good.
The ambaience was slightly marred by the increased noise of some other guests. This made it difficult to hear ourselves talking to each other.
I had the Flat Iron Steak which was very enjoyable as where the Fries, Onion Rings and Vegetables is came with.
We had a first class meal and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Good range of pub classics on the bar menu. We enjoyed this so much we came back the following day to sample the a la Carte! Great food.
Wonderful food, but needed a bit more attention at the table, but that could be due to reduced staffing.
Lovely meal and create menu choices including vegetarian options. Great beer choices. Service was prompt
I had read a few poor reviews on another site but planned to moor up our boat in Salhouse and took a gamble on booking a table for 5pm. So glad I did!!
Actually got in there at about 1.30pm and it was busy but the staff were great and found us a table and we ordered a roast - it was fantastic!
After several beers and wines we ordered a dessert and a cheeseboard about 5.30pm, Thee we n a few more drinks and made it back to the boat somehow.
Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon & evening
Great food as always, service top notch especially in current climate.
Having visited a few weeks before we were looking forward to experiencing the sweet potato masala again as we enjoyed it so much. This time the quinoa was nothing but a watery mush which made the whole dish sloppy. Our complaint was handled well by the staff and we chose another dish. Which meant we had to wait so we had our meals at different times. The onion bhaji was not the same either it was not so thin and crispy it was thick and stodgy. We enjoyed our first visit so much we recommended it to realises but their experience was not good . After a mix up with their starters the walked out after waiting nearly 2 hours for their main course. We travelled from Lowestoft as we enjoyed our first visit but won’t be returning
Great value for money Sunday lunch - highly recommended
Great Sunday roast and service. Beef and yorkshire puddings were perfect.
Friendly service and lovely pub but food was bland. Filled a hole but I don’t think I would return.
Lovely place, good value. Helpful staff. Food was nice.
Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, great food and good beer and value for money
Met up with two friends for good beer and lunch. Covid plan well observed and not too intrusive. Beer is probably the best in Norfolk (it’s the brewery tap for Woodfordes). Table service in the bar was excellent. Staff were young, hardworking and polite. Two of us had the game pie. We agreed it was slightly underwhelming. But plenty of delicious gravy. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.
Toilets were dirty, one only got ladies (not to ur fault) Xmas songs on quite loud, coca-cola was flat. Given a menu which I couldn’t eat nothing of - gluten free, all starters and mains were marked as having gluten in them - however none of the puddings were (even the apple crumble ?!) lucky the lovely lady Server went to check twice to the chef to actually see what I could eat. Thank god for her as I would have walked out as sausages and burgers aren’t really what we wanted! Credit to your staff for helping and the chef but I had already let them I know I was GF via the app, Perhaps a better gf menu or more attention to detail needed. The duck (we both had) was lovely, but due to the menu and I don’t think was correct etc we didn’t stay for pudding.
I understand we can ask for alterations but given someone a menu THEN checking the allergens and they ALL gluten in, isn’t a nice experience. I didn’t want to be rude or ask but I didn’t feel sure that all the puddings were gluten free.
Please take this as constructive criticism xxx
Excellent Sunday Lunch
The food was really tasty and quick to arrive, the staff were smiling and very pleasant and my husband tells me the beer was excellent too. Fully booked on Sunday so what more can you need to know!
Fantastic quality at a great price
Good menu and we can bring my dog
Have already booked to go again
Lovely food, great service and reasonably priced.
A reduced menu, but of good quality. We had a very pleasant evening.
Lovely. We weren’t rushed, social distancing was followed with plenty of space and staff working really hard to make sure everyone was safe.
We had a very nice meal here on a Saturday lunch time .well spaced seating and co-vid safe .would certainly come again. Also the Woodford wherry was nectar !
