The food was amazing, decent prices too. But because it was very busy the service was abit slow but that's to be expected
Having read previous reviews, we were a little worried, but we shall be returning without a doubt. The seabass, risotto, meat pie and brie/caramelised onion tart were all to a high standard. The deserts: cheesecake, lemon tarts and bakewell tarts were equally delicious, all served with a smile. With drinks, it all came to just under £25 each, which for the quality of food was very good. Thank you.
We were on a short break to Norwich to celebrate our anniversary and spent some time beforehand researching where would be a good place to eat. Based on the reviews we read on open table and elsewhere we booked the Fur and Feathers … the menu and style of pub being similar to those we visit at home (Chester). There was clearly a problem on 21 july. On arrival we were ignored by staff until went inside to ask for our table. It was about 15 mins before we ordered then another 15 for the first drinks to arrive …and an hour for the food. We ordered the second round of drinks soon after the first had arrived and they took another 20 mins. The food was at best average. Main ingredients - gammon and fish - were acceptable but the chips were dreadful and would not expect sachet condiments in a restaurant/pub with these sort of prices. Management appeared to be non existent and staff doing their best. On last nights visit could not recommend.
Lovely meal. Good service. Would definitely return.
Last minute decision to go out for lunch as the weather was glorious. £46 for three of us including drinks we thought was great value. Will be returning
Once we received the food it was lovely but we waited a long time to be served
Last visit in May as in previous visits we enjoyed the v shaped fries ( well known amongst our circle of friends who visit) . On this visit we had chunky fries served! Not as good by far! What’s happened to the v shape? Caesar salad could have had more croutons and additions for the price paid….. mainly lettuce ! Also last visit the burger came in a much fancier pretzel bun…. This visit a plain bun! Service great and polite and safe but the quality of food for the price did not match previous visits? Would like a response please if possible!
Overall very disappointed.
Food not hot and presentation of meals was very poor.
Waiter service not good.
Waited 45 minutes for sweets.
On this visit we won’t be returning anytime soon.
Very disappointing visit.
I accept the staff are tired on a hot day...
But the Woodfords was of poor standard, we drank better quality in your pubs along the river!
Half the menu off!
On the first week of the school summer holidays, you should have forecast a busy weekend! It wasn't until we all finally got our main courses that the waitress realised that one selected had sold out and she hadn't offered an alternative. My husband had to then sit and wait for a burger!
We needed somewhere to take elderly relatives for lunch. We were shown to a quiet inside table with no steps to negotiate. Staff were helpful and polite. Food was delicious. Felt safe and not overcrowded despite being a busy Sunday lunchtime. Excellent all round.
Food was delicious and staff ere not rude or abrupt considering how busy it was. Had to wait AN HOUR to order a drinks, second drinks didn’t arrive. Then had to ask 2 staff to order food as first member said he would get some one but they never came. Food order was then already booked to our table despite not ordering yet. Poorly organised but good food and patient staff.
We tried to ring but no answer so booked on line. We arrived just before 3pm and shown to table by manager. Handed full menu and had a drinks order taken. Ok so far. We ordered from full menu when drinks arrived. Then the young waitress returned saying it was past 3pm so we could only have pizza or sandwiches. Gluten free roll was half the size of my roll.
Beer was excellent.
Will now treat as a drinking pub rather than a foodie.
Young member of staff coped very well with my grumpy face but should have been trained or given a watch.
Booked last minute, got a nice table outside. Efficient service even though it looked busy. Nice food, quite pricey though. Would eat here again.
Food was cold and also staff didn't come to ask we want something else. Waited only for drinks 20mins
The staff were very friendly and accommodating but clearly overwhelmed by the numbers being served. Food was okay but chips were on the cool side. Ladies loos were quite unpleasant. No squeezy soap just a bar of manky soap sitting in scummy water. Overall an okay evening. Its a great place for a drink in the garden but I wouldn’t hurry back for a meal.
The Fur and Feather provides a wonderful location for its hospitality especially if you want to eat outside. The staff are smart friendly and attentive. The food is well presented and tasty. Well done in these difficult times.
Lovely outside patio area! Plenty of staff in attendance. Good food at a fair price!
We ate at the Fur and Feathers back in July 2020 and we’re impressed with how they managed the restrictions. Well nothing has slipped, it’s a great and safe operation, really well managed and all done without losing the ambience of the pub.
The staff are very attentive without being intrusive and the overall quality of service is very good.
The food (in our case Haddock and Chips) was excellent, extremely well cooked and generously portioned. A great range of beers on tap supplemented by a good selection of bottled beers.
I really can’t fault our meal, the service or the setting, first class!
It would have been more stars but on the day there was a spot of bother with the electronics, so I didn't have time for my extra half of nelson. Nobody's fault
and we'll be back!
It was a really lovely summer's day, the place had a warm buzz about it. The waiting staff were very attentive but not obtrusive, and the food was fantastic. We had fish and chips. The batter was light and crispy, the fish was very fresh, and the chips were crispy, proper peas - not mush, and served with a good tartare sauce. The wine was good quality, and overall the prices were really reasonable. The portions are generous, so didn't go for a dessert. A very lovely afternoon was had, and we will be back.
All I will say is that both my friend's satnav and my satnav took us on a wild goose chase.
Our meals were delicious! It didn’t seem too busy but waitress service seemed a little slow. We ordered our second drink, which we re ordered after 15 minutes as it did not turn up! Atmosphere was very nice considering the current situation.
We visited last year when we were on the broads and will go back again.
A great pub excellent food - a nice walk from Salhouse Broad - best to book
Food excellent, staff excellent. Ladies toilet bad, dirty sink and no way should there be a bar of soap in the toilet. Please improve toilets
Our waitress was called Jodean (sorry if not quite right) She was lovely and very attentive. We couldn’t have asked for better and the one time she was distracted with another customer, we had a gentleman waiter come over. We never needed to call them over, as they were there just when we needed them. I had prawns in Marie sauce in ciabatta with chips. The only fault was that the coleslaw was a bit tasteless (onion would improve it) . My husband had a ciabatta meal too and a nicely presented cheeseboard for dessert and I had a warm brownie with salted caramel ice cream, which was awesome (I took some home, as the portion size allows that) . Hubby enjoyed his Nog and bought a bottle of Smokey English whiskey from the shop. Jodean wished him a happy birthday, which was nice. Lovely popular place. We will definitely go again.
Very covid secure, good value fir money and excellent food.
Very efficient, courteous and helpful staff .
Selection on menu good and beer selection off the scale. 👍👏🏻👏🏻
interesting place to find, all part of the Woodfordes Brewery, very pleasant lunch will definitely go again
Went for Sunday lunch, both service and food was very good
Delicious pie with nice soft pastry, lovely veg. The chicken breast with mushrooms was really tasty. Pleased we got a table last minute and service was friendly. Looking forward to the Mac & cheese coming back on the menu - the absolute best ever!!
Food was nice to eat but not very fancy on your plate and it stated on the menu served with coleslaw but there wasnt any so a simple side salad on your plate would of been nice . The young lad serving us was very good at recommending and helping my husband choose what beer he would 😀 .
Great meal, lovely atmosphere as always
The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive. Good value. Would definitely return.
Great service and good food in a quiet restaurant
Sensible portion sizes and we’ll presented
Great service from the staff at fur & feather, food was lovely, quick and efficient staff. Would definitely go back and recommend to others.
We ate outside in the sunshine. This is a perfect venue for this type of dining. There is an outdoor covered area and some tables with parasols. Brilliant!!
Excellent. Definitely recommend.
Great selection of drinks.
Service was good.
We enjoyed a lovely meal, there was a bit of a wait on food of around 45 mins, but this was explained to us when ordering. Although, I was aware there was a wait if around 90 minutes for roasts! Lovely setting though and the staff were doing their utmost to keep in top of things.
we waited 1hour 20 minutes for our food to arrive. I took my mother for her 91st birthday. she was iritable and hungry and wanted to leave. food was mediocre when arrived. you need to up your game. repeat business is key to long term success
Found this place after looking for a dog-friendly pub close to Norwich. Went there for dinner on Saturday and back again for lunch on Sunday. Sat outside both times. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, lovely food and great setting. Would definitely go back the next time I'm in the area.
