The restaurant is closing tomorrow :(
I'm so sorry they have closed, they will be missed
Waiter & food were good. It was the hostess who left a bad taste.... I had a reservation, but had to wait nearly 30 minutes before being seated. Other ppl came in after me and were seated first. I asked her nicely why we weren’t being seated and she was just plain rude. Not worth the attitude to come back here.
Customer service and food were both great!
We went for Restaurant week brunch with 11am reservation. We had to wait outside until a t least 11:15am with everyone else, since the restaurant doors were locked until then. Once inside, hostess was slow to seat all of us with reservations. We were given the dinner menu and asked our waitress about it, she said it was correct. She had a hard time explaining what we could pick for restaurant week, we ordered and she came back to tell us we had the wrong menu. Gave us brunch menus then took our orders. The appetizer bagel and lox came out with no cream cheese at all, and we had to request it. There was not enough smoked salmon for both sides of the bagel and the bagel was of poor quality. The entrees were sub-par, they used deli meat ham and turkey for dishes which should have used hand carved, and the portions were too big in the dishes we ordered. Wait staff was very slow and non-attentive. The desserts were also very underwhelming and the petit four platter came out with frozen cookies and chocolate so hard it could not be eaten. Will never return here and do not recommend to anyone. Entire staff seemed very disorganized during the brunch service.
I apologize for your experience. That was our last day of operation and we were severely short staffed.
Food was just okay. Service was a bit better but not exceptional. I got the feeling that they were just going through the motions because the restaurant closes at the end of the month.
It doesn’t matter because the restaurant is closing tomorrow, but they did not have what they advertised they would for restaurant week and the server was rude about it.
Great meal! Kicking myself that I never went before. Glad I went before it closed but sad I won't be able to go back.
Made the reservation for Restaurant Week and then happened to find out it's closing the end of August. The food was wonderful (I had gnocchi, a house salad and the cobbler). The only downside was the noise level: had to speak with raised voice. This could have been my go to place if not for shutting down.
The food was fabulous! The baked chicken was well seasoned and juicy; the rolls -- well I could not stop eating them. No complaints here
Woodward Table has an excellent menu of seafood, comfort food, and classic American food. They were very attentive and they paid close attention to our needs. We went for lunch during restaurant week so the value of our meal was excellent.
So I usually like Woodward Table, but they clearly couldn’t manage crowd for restaurant week. Had a 12:15 reservation and were seated quickly. Took a long time for waiter to come to the table. Didn’t get appetizer until 1:15 and then entree 20 minutes later. At 1:45 I asked to have our deserts wrapped to go. I don’t know a lot of working people who can have an unexpected 2 hour lunch. Waiter also forgot to bring bread that we ordered. Fortunately he also never charged for it. Will be some time before I go back.
The best Restaurant Week lunch in DC! It is a shame that Woodward Table is closing.
So sorry they are closing Sunday, I would certainly recommend this place
Hmmm... first time at Woodward Table. We had trout and the half chicken. Chicken was fine... nothing to write home about but good food. The trout was over cooked and dry... I mentioned to the wait person and just got a a sort of "Oh... okay" response. Right thing to do was to offer us a gratus meal or at least dessert. No offer... so probably not too excited to go back there.
Had no service, needed those lighted batons you see on a tarmac to direct planes to get their attention. Overheard the servers say they wish it was their last day but it doesn’t matter because they’re closing in 2 weeks anyways.
Savory flavors, locally sourced, healthy Americana cuisine in a very warm atmosphere, I look forward to seasonal visits to Woodward Table to enjoy their ever-changing menu.
My boyfriend and I love eating here for brunch because he believes they have the best chicken and waffles. I appreciate that we can always get a table even without a reservation and the atmosphere and location is perfect. I truly am please with my hot mess dish I order and they always are accommodating to my substitutes. Plus it’s clean and not so loud.
sorry such a nice restaurant with good food and quiet atmosphere is closing this month!
Enjoyed trout. The apple pie was yummy.
Service was outstanding and we absolutely loved being sat by the window.
Everything went well from the service and food. The trout was delicious.
Thanks for seating me early as I waited for my friend.
Parker House rolls are the best -- warm, buttery, and flavorful. The entree salad is delicious and satisfying. Order the house made ginger beer. Trout stuffed with crab is one of my go-to dishes at Woodward Table. Dessert menu is tempting but I'm always too full to order -- maybe one day.
Took forever for beverages to arrive and they weren’t correct. The website menu didn’t match the menu and worse the one dish didn’t match what was served.
We then read in Eater they are closing. Sorry to hear that as our two earlier visits had been excellent.
Excellent service and food, if a little loud. Our table was close to the bar. Would definitely go back for both drinks and food.
Awful service and that makes for an awful experience. The food was delicious...Crab cakes were divine! But the waiter was annoyed the whole evening and in the end we were too!
Somethings different here of late. I can’t say anything is wrong but the food seems to have lost its magic. They’ve gone from “I can’t wait to come back and have that again and try everything else on the menu” to “There’s nothing wrong with this, but I won’t remember what I had after we walk out”. I don’t know what the change is but with all of the other choices in the area, I don’t think we’ll be back.
We loved Antonio our server! Food was delicious, timely and wine was fantastic!! Wonderful experience!!
the salad was very good but a little more expensive than i remember it for the portion size.
The hostess was extremely unfriendly and began our reservation in an off-putting sense.
The food was good, but not worth the amount of money.
Our waiter was fantastic!
Loved the food, but the decor and atmosphere was so heinous that I doubt we’ll return for anything besides take out.
Food was some of the better food we had in DC during our short trip. It was close to the White House so we walked there after.
Our portion of the restaurant was absolutely freezing - far too much AC! My salad also contained gluten after multiple requests were made to leave out the grain.
Great Food and Experience! Antonio our waiter was awesome!
Food was fine. Service ok
Excellent 1st time experience with a delicious salad and great service!
Our table of seven was unable to receive dinner rolls, which cost and were ordered. Dinner salad came late, with entree. One entree arrived 5 minutes after the others and two tasty asparagus sides arrived several minutes later.
We went on a Friday night and the restaurant had less than ten guests. The music didn’t match the nice meal I was looking forward to and it was blaringly loud. It was on a 90s radio station and the ambience was more sports bar than a nice dining establishment. The waiter was super gracious and had the music volume lowered. The food was really good. Hopefully they will rethink the ambience they are trying to create.
The swordfish was so good! We had a great salad, I forget the name of it! 24 hour? Waiter did not have proper knowledge of the drinks on the menu.
A wonderful layout - plenty of room at each table - and a great dining experience.
