Both the food and the service here are invariably good, the menus have both consistency and variety and a great balance of fish, meat and vegetarian options.
Excellent vegan choices. The maitre d remembered me and my previous vegan wine choice. She also remembered that I has not tried my entree before. Very impressive .
Amazing food, lovely vibe. Wonderful wine too. Staff were friendly and even bought over a congratulations plate without us needing to prompt them. Perceptive, kind staff.
Lovely meal and service at Wreckfish will definitely be dining here again
A really nice wee bistro in Liverpool. Breakfast was just what I wanted whilst reading the newspaper. I will certainly return before I leave town.
Treat yourself to a great meal.
Tasty and interesting food, good atmosphere, beautiful place and very friendly people. We had a wonderful dinner!
This is so lovely to hear, thank you for the lovely review, it really means a lot to the team when people make the effort to leave a positive review. Many thanks Ashley
The overall experience at Wreckfish is exceptional. If you can find a better value for money meal for such high quality then I would be hugely surprised. Never a disappointing course.
Excellent food! Great service and value for money!
Absolutely loved the frocaccia bread and my veggie main. My partner had the best with the parmesan chips which were to die for!! The banana bread desert was my favourite I've ever had. Service was really good and had a chilled vibe to it
Will definitely be back soon!
Also the guy who's from Crosby and went travelling (I forgot to ask for his name) went above and beyond with service! The happy birthday plate was a lovely little touch
Hi Emma, So pleased you had a lovely time, we too have a soft spot for the banana bread! I will pass on your comments to all the team who will be so pleased you had a great time, Many thanks Ashley
Excellent food, great placating, very affable and friendly staff. Highly recommended
Nice place with good quality food. Quite a limited menu though. Cheese good!
No pink Gin 😪
Hi Jan, Thanks for your feed back, we love cheese too! Whilst we don't currently carry a Pink Gin, it is something we may look at getting in the future so keep an eye out! Many thanks Ashley
Usually fantastic food, but disappointing this time round. Worth giving another chance to as have been here several times and this is the first time the food hasn’t been good.
Hi Nick, I am sorry to hear we didn't hit the mark on your last visit, if you would like to e-mail me directly at Wreckfish with further information I would love to be able to feedback to the kitchen in more detail. We hope to see you again soon in Wreckfish, Many thanks for the feedback, Ashley
Fabulous food and great service / staff. Really interesting menu with good variation and nice selection of wines.
We had a brilliant meal. Every course was delicious. The desert was outstanding! We had been before and have all recommended to friends who also enjoyed it.
Hi Pat, thanks for the PR! We hope to see you and all you family and friends soon! Ashley
Clearly a great menu and fantastic restaurant, unfortunately just not the best experience for my partner and I so can only give 3-4 stars. Didn’t take olive plates and side plates before starters also forgot my cutlery so was sat waiting for ages. The starters, When they arrived were tasty. The mains were good but the fish was under-cooked - and the ‘check back’ was too late after meals to really do anything about it. Don’t like causing a fuss on a Date - but I did tell the waitress. to top things off they told ‘open table’ we hadn’t showed so got Charged 20 quid on top (they did Resolve after I spoke to someone who gave me The cash to be fair but even so a faff and only as
I checked my emails When GF was in the loo or I wouldn’t have noticed ) . Also far too long waiting to pay after receiving the bill - just a sign of being too busy for the number of covers on (maybe a staff member down?) . Such a crying shame as it has so much potential to be amazing. Must have been too many big parties in! Would like
To try again maybe not on a sat night
Second time at Wreckfish and it was wonderful. New Waiter Jamie was extremely knowledgeable about the food and drink - he's an asset to the Restaurant. Will definitely be going again. Food was excellent, if a bit pricey. Can strongly recommend.
HI Tom, We agree, Jamie is fabulous! I will show him your review as it is always great fpr the team to get such positive reviews, Many thanks Ashley
Excellent food, great ambience, nice open kitchen, excellent staff who went out of the to make the occasion special, even freshly prepared a dessert that was not on the menu but i had seen on Instagram, would highly recommend and will be returning again
Good food. Really good ingredients well cooked. We had lovely plaice. Pudding with prunes was a dream. We were sat downstairs, which lacked atmosphere, so when we go again we will book a table upstairs. Other than that first class.
Amazing food as always. We’ve been several times, always enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. The quality is consistent from restaurant to restaurant.
Lovely food in nice quantities and good value. Highly recommended.
As good as ever, sat downstairs this time , feels a bit claustrophobic . Maybe put some 'distressed ' mirrors on the walls to open it up a bit.
This is a lovely restaurant. The food is well thought out and very pleasant. My cauliflower risotto with Indian spices was excellent. The feather blade beef was well cooked and seasoned. An excellent meal. The wine list is good with some unusual and reasonably priced wines.
The highlight though was the commitment and attitude of the staff. they were helpful knowledgable and very good. My fiend and I asked for two cocktails not on their list and they happily prepared them even though it was clear they were not usually requested. A good experience without breaking the bank (too much).
Always exemplary. One of Liverpool's best restaurants.
Excellent value for money!
The food is divine. Good wine poured expertly. Recommend.
Lovely Sunday lunch, service was fantastic, couldn’t recommend enough!
Food was very good, though I would suggest not using Scottish mussels as they are an unsophisticated mussel and tend to down grade any dish. Portions were appropriate for lunch. Drinks okay, but not exactly worth the price.
Ate here early Saturday night, very nice atmosphere, food very good, duck heart starter different but very tasty, buttered guinea fowl excellent full of flavour, finished with fantastic honeycomb semifreddo best honeycomb every had. Only reason not given higher mark felt the server who dealt with us a bit surly when we asked for drinks before meal given a menu which only had cocktails, gins & wine list when asked for a drink from bar was told could only have drinks on menu at table, yet other tables appeared to be getting served beers etc
Excelent food, service was great, well looked after by Jamie, will be back.
We chose from the early dinner menu as this is great value for fantastic food. 3 course meal for £22 pounds each, and the menu changes regularly to keep you coming back for more. We love the fact that the kitchen is on display which leaves you with a small dilemma....talk with your dinner date or watch the culinary wizardry taking place in the kitchen.
Amazing food and wonderful service
this is food made with love. the flavours are abundant. very skilled! excellent value for money. staff so friendly too. can't wait to return
We were recommended Wreckfish by a chef with whom we deal in the Midlands (we are wine merchants) and we were really impressed with the quality of the food and service. The wine list had been thoughtfully compiled and when we asked a female member of staff to describe two of the red wines she confidently delivered a very detailed description of both wines which immediately helped us to decide between the two wines. Our only regret is that Wreckfish is not situated nearer to Warwick, as we would then be regular diners!
Always amazing, food and service outstanding. Would recommend getting more than one desert, they are unbelievable
We keep coming back because the food and service is always faultless. Keep it up.
The food was excellent. Choice for Vegetarians was great not just one choice but two. Staff were very good and approachable, helped us as we were limited to time as we had an appointment.
I had the risotto it was very bland the egg was really over cooked the rice was sloppy the crisps were tasteless , the artichoke was sour and didn’t go with dish at all it was like a savoury rice pudding i left most of it , service was terrible trying to to order took a while to get noticed and then plates were cleared away and no one asked how food was or offered desert menus, I then found my self having to wave to catch someone’s attention to ask for drinks and desert for then the desert to come and still no drinks , had to cancel the drinks , my desert was apple crumble which I left most of the apple as it wasn’t cooked and the citrus was really over powering and sour lemon flavour and really sloppy , my wine was lovely and the lighting was nice , I found it really over priced poor food poor service
