The prices are steep but outstanding food and friendly service justify it. We took Aussie foodie friends who said best meal they've ever had in the UK.
Only let down by the olives which were hard and uninteresting. Downstairs has less atmosphere than upstairs and you don't get to see the chefs at work but may be quieter. There are a lot of hard surfaces so for someone with hearing issues, like me, it can be 'clatterty'.
These are minor points: we had a great evening and enjoyed every dish - mackerel, venison, chicken wings were partcular highlights.
Lovely as usual but we noticed that since charging for extra gravy, there is very little gravy offered on the plate.
A friend recommended I visit here as I was entertaining a colleague. I wasn’t disappointed at all. From the friendly welcome at the door, the drinks menu choices and personal recommendation by our server to the high level of cleanliness throughout! We were not rushed and the food was delectable! The only question I left with was “Why have not not been here before?!” Outstanding!
Amazing food and service, no nice to be able to see into the kitchen.
Went for Sunday brunch and it was lovely, the poached eggs were spot on and the service friendly and efficient. We booked but it wasn't too busy
Got a small discount as we were staying in the hotel over the road
Great service. Food was fantastic! Very tasty and good selection of wine list. Price was fair when comparing it others within town of similar quality. However, definitely the best eating experience I’ve had in Liverpool recently. Would highly recommend for a special occasion and will be back to try their Sunday lunch menu.
Excellent food but quite a wait to firstly get seated then get fed. Table booked 8.45 got seated 9.15 didn’t get main course until 10.10 - waitress who served us was excellent
This was our second visit for lunch. Not disappointed. Staff are incredibly friendly and know their food/wines. The menu is mouthwateringly tempting and the food is superb. This is without doubt my favourite place in Liverpool.
Great service - all staff were knowledgeable about the food and friendly. Up for a laugh with us as well.
Only way to describe the food is to say it was fabulous. All of it. Starter, main and desert.
Only complaint from one of our party was that the Creme Brûlée wasn't as good as his wife's (she is a fabulous cook). But everyone else, including his wife, said it was, as I said earlier, fabulous.
My only complaint is that, as with most restaurants, too many deserts come with ice-cream which I don't like. I know I'm in the minority but there you have it. Again, staff were brilliant and put the ice-cream in a side pot so it didn't touch my food (I'm not that fussy but it was a nice touch) so one of my other party ate it. And they still brought a pot of cream out as well for me.
Although we're not vegetarian if you are there didn't seem to be a lot of choice for you - though what was available looked very good.
A little pricy possibly but we thought it was good value for money overall.
Food was amazing- I had the ceviche to start and my girlfriend had the Pate- both were incredibly good, then we both had the beef for main course which was melt-in-your-mouth.
Only small disappointment of the night was that they had ran out of Sirloin's at 8pm on a Friday despite the restaurant not being very busy, albeit the day after Valentine's Day.
Excellent food served by staff who know what they are talking about.
As usual excellent. Have to say food is better than Burnt Truffle!
Another outstanding meal, fabulous service, gorgeous food, never disappoints ❤️
Absolutely amazing as always, food, staff, atmosphere all top marks!!!
Absolutely loved it. Beautiful building superb service and amazing food.
Loved the cosy and stylish room downstairs. The young staff were delightful. I look forward to my next visit.
An attractive space and friendly service. Good food and good value for money.
Loved it. Nothing bad to say. Food was superb and we’ll back there soon enough.
Another fantastic meal.
From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left, not only did we feel comfortable, but the food was just on point. The staff were exceptional in dealing with everything. They made a good day, great!
Had Sunday lunch at wreckfish. The menu was good value, £20 for two course and £ 25 for 3 courses. Sirloin of beef was delicious as was the gravy, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. I had the rice pudding with plum jam and nutty granola for dessert, it was beautiful. Highly recommend.
Really nice restaurant. Good service & excellent food. I only have one negative comment the portions are quite small for mains so you definitely need a couple of sides to go with them
Food and ambience excellent. Service was pleasant and efficient. Could have been a touch slower as did feel a little rushed at time. Otherwise would highly recommend.
Highly recommend. Sat upstairs which was light and airy and great to see the kitchen in action. Delicious food, great value for money.
Food was fabulous. Great night on the sharing table. Will recommend to others and look forward to my return.
All very good. Everything excellent . Will definitely go again and recommend to friends.
Tasty food, good value, charming staff, enjoyed eating at the long table.
Six of us had a lovely evening in Wreckfish, thank you.
Wreckfish is consistently good serving innovative food which manages to appeal to all. The cauliflower risotto was creamy with just that little difference of puffed rice and unusual herb combination, lifted it from being just a risotto. The feather blade steak was tender and succulent.
The staff were very understanding and let me bring non alcoholic wine for my father and gave him a birthday plate of excellent cinder toffee.
Really warm and welcoming atmosphere plus great value. A must return restaurant.
The brains were incredible!
Amazing food , great service reasonably priced. Fabulous evening
An excellent value set lunch with a creative, well-crafted selection of dishes and a reasonably priced wine list. We were in Liverpool for the weekend and this was a great find. Staff were knowledgable, friendly and efficient.
Great food, nice surroundings and beautiful and food would definitely recommend Thank you
Lovely venue. Portions small and food over priced doe
The staff had a chilled attitude, which made you feel relaxed. Rang ahead because we were delayed in traffic, which was met without a problem and thanking us for letting them know. I have been to two others in the group and all have the same great principals.
The restaurant was empty but the booking system didn’t allow me to book for half an hour earlier.
Food was nice but sadly lacked atmosphere as there was only one other table in.
Outstanding food, yet that was surpassed by even more outstanding customer service
Excellent food and reasonable prices. Would happily return.
Absolutely adore this place, my girlfriend and I went once before and spent the next few months dreaming about coming back. Once we had the chance to come again a few nights ago, the food and experience absolutely lived up to our ridiculously high expectations and we had fantastic night. Lovely service and wine recommedations from our server Joe all night. Would recommend to anyone, easily some of the best food in the city.
We are regulars at Wreckfish because every bit of food we are served is delicious and the staff are always warm and friendly. Best restaurant in the city.
