Wright Brothers Battersea
Saturday late lunch with friends- the staff were very happy to let us order and graze which is what we did... allowing us to take forever and enjoy a catch up...
It was busy and noisy because of the seafood festival - which provided much entertainment...
We all felt we would go again.
Great location, good views across the river.""....................... ...................
Good quality seafood is the norm at Wright Bros. Battersea. We booked for the "Mark Hix Takeover". Food and service were the usual high standard .... but... the the so-called celeb chef.. Mark Hix was a no-show!! Other Chef takeover evenings the chef has walked around and chatted to customers... not this one!! Kind of spoilt the evening.
Excellent staff, great food.
Battersea just doesn’t cut it.
Staff professional however perfunctory. Product knowledge all fine. Completely lacks personality and the warmth, charm of the original in Borough.
Menu choices lacking and poorly defined.
Food portions small and pricing high. Not generous.
Cooking average. Chain restaurant. Dull dishes, poorly executed.
I could go on...
It’s was hugely disappointing.
Not sure what’s going on with Wright. This was our fourth visit in six months and service and food went steadily from excellent to mediocre (why else would we return). Service was very slow, they seemed understaffed and the waiters who were present didn’t know the menu and didn’t get the order right. I rarely write poor reviews but this place should have everything going for it and we used to really enjoy it.
On a positive note, oysters were excellent as usual. food very fresh.
Very good food, waiter was excellent very knowledgeable on the food.
Very cool location, food was excellent and the staff amazing throughout really did the brand proud.
We had a celebratory lunch for my son's birthday. Cue lots of champagne, oysters and fabulous food. Our waitress was exceptional. She welcomed our dog and baby too. We will be back!
Great place with wonderful seafood. Good cocktails as well
We have enjoyed this restaurant three times now, each time the staff and food have lived up to the standards offered on our first visit when freshly opened, so thank you.
The food and service cannot be faulted in any way and I would be hard pressed to suggest any improvements that could be made.
Thank you to the team.
Good choices of fish from main and specials menu. 3 of us were impressed with our hake, plaice and mussels mains. Nice broccoli side, minted new potatoes turned up as sautéed but that was even better. Good red IPA, Sauvignon by the glass also good. Great location and decor. Staff were exceptionally nice. Would go again. Thank you all.
Visited on a Sunday evening, so the restaurant was not very busy; nevertheless the atmosphere was good and I liked the decor and the general layout of the place. The location: close to the Thames and within the new Battersea Power Station development area is also a plus.
The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. My wife and I both had a smoked salmon starter with butterd soda bread, which was delicious . This was followed by hake, with a curry and mussel sauce, accompanied by minted new potatoes and roasted butternut squash; beautifully presented and also absolutely delicious.
For sweet I opted for the lemon posset with pistachio crumble, which lived up to the high standard set by the starter and main.
The wine was reasonably priced, with a selection of wines served by the glass or in a 500cc carafe (a nice option I thought).
All in all, I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
Oysters are the best! We will definitely return to try the fish platter. Great champagne and drinks selection too.
Loved the place. Staff very friendly and provided good service. Would definitely go back again
Very attentive and friendly staff. If you love seafood you will love this Restaurant. Nice wine list too. Will definitely be back.
Waiter was very short on us and oversold the fish. Didnt live up to the standard this time around. Been many times before where its normally 5 stars all around. When mentioning it wasn't usual quality felt like waiter was arguing back. for a 300 pound dinner didn't find this visit amazing.
Had the smallest crab, should never have been served plus the hake was the same
Including Circus West Village in our neighbourhood of Pimlico, Wright Brothers Battersea ranks in the Top Five. Never fails to delight. Highly recommended.
Lovely restaurant setting, on the river. Tasty food and good service.
The staff were very attentive, it was a bit chilly in the restaurant but lovely food!!! However it was my sisters birthday that I mentioned when I booked and they didn’t acknowledge it at all.
Really good meal and excellent service
I've eaten at different Wright Bros a few times, and up until now has been OK. But as ever with chains the quality gradually drops as they grow. My starter fish soup was fine, but the other starters weren't executed well. Mussels main course were good ingredients marred by lack of care in preparation. The liquor was poor and non existent which meant they were just dry. Only 2 of the puddings were available out of 3. The waiters were of the apologetic variety and a free glass of port did arrive but overall service was very slow and patchy. The last drinks never turned up.
Mother'a day was a brilliant experience for all the family, kids aged 6 to 15 loved it.
Food good and varied and the raw fish was an excellent quality as were the oyster and the special, Trout.
A lovely experience made even better by excellent waiters.
A very special evening spent celebrating my husband birthday. We initially sat at the bar and ordered oysters and tempura broccoli, both delicious. The English sparking wine was a perfect accompaniment.
Two out of the 3 meals were ordered off the specials board. The hake was so fresh and the lemon risotto delicious. My daughter had the scallops, which were excellent but as a main course a minuscule portion. Husband had the Skate which, again was fabulous.
Would love to see a better selection of desserts.
Overall a great evening, would recommend.
Top prices, but inadequate service on a busy Saturday night. I guess they had a party booked into one of their rooms, because we had one poor girl serving the main room facing the river.
We sat down at about 7:45 and didnt get the puddings until 9:45.
The waitress was running round like crazy so I wouldn't blame her. The restaurant management are responsible for coping with busy nights and at these prices, they should not fally back on the old excuse that "one of the staff was ill".
We had the seafood platter, most of which was OK, but it was hardly exciting, and the whelks were dry as a bone.
The final blow was that service was included at 12.5% but the credit card machine was set up so that you had to decline to give a tip. I ask you . . . . .
Dear Sebastian, Thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback, although I am truly very sorry to hear your experience at Wright Brothers Battersea wasn’t up to our usual standards. We pride ourselves on excellent food and service, so I will definitely follow up with the management team and head chef to identify what went wrong on this occasion. Please contact me directly to firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss further. Kind regards, Jean-Michel S. - General Manager
Freshest fish, delicious food and fab cocktails. Lovely staff.
Very kind and friendly staff, but unfortunately quite poorly trained in table service. Lots of partially spilt coffee, my sister food arrived cold (they changed it graciously), and too much checking in. Barman had a good manner.
Unfortunately I found all the food to be quite underwhelming for the price. Tasteless and bland. I liked the room and the fit out of the restaurant so a shame that the food didn’t live up to it. Can’t say i’d return.
Interesting and delicious tasting menu. Met the chef and had a great wine pairing. Thank you!
On the night we went to Wright Bros. Battersea they had a special menu with wine pairing. We were shown to a high table after I had booked a normal table. We were changed to a normal table and the rest of the evening went extremely smoothly. Great food and good wines to accompany each course.
The whole experience was amazing. Service was impeccable. The food was amazing. The restaurant is stunning. All the staff were absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend.
Great food and particularly great oysters. Service a bit patchy with a new member of staff who needed a bit more training but the team covered it well. Would go back in a heartbeat.
We were very glad to find as restaurant that serves a real sea food platter . It is, a have to admit, a bit pricey. However worth it. The place is classy without pretention. Staff very friendly and very helpful.
The view on the river Thames... a real bonus .
On a wet Sunday afternoon stepping into Wrights in Battersea was warm & welcoming. Taking advantage of the oyster happy hours we had 16 with a lovely dry rose as recommended by our helpful waitress. We then tried a few of their small dishes which were small but tasty. By this time we were ready for something sweet & had the lemon posset & tea. All the staff were polite, efficient & professional. making our vist one that we will definitely repeat!
A few tables booked and a large private party gave the location a bit of atmosphere. Some good waiters, also seemed like a few were being trained as a bit slow at times. Good food slightly over priced for portion size but relaxing atmosphere and pleasant experience.
Gorgeous food. Very attentive staff. Sat up at the kitchen bar watching our food being prepared. Which was fun.
The food was excellent at Wright Brothers. Every bit was great. However the service was very slow and the restaurant wasn't full. It was busy but not full. We had drinks before & during our starter then ordered wine for the main course. We didn't get this until after we'd finished our main course. We had a train to catch but had allowed plenty of time for our meal and to get to the station. We were then told that we may not get dessert within the time we had left so we didn't order it. Such a shame because the slow service did dampen the meal. However, we would go again.
I went for lunch on Sunday and to be honest it was a bit disappointing, two of the dishes we ordered were no longer available but instead of being told before looking at the menu, we were told when we ordered so then had to rethink what we wanted. Then there was a mess up with the main course (I didn’t get mine) and had to wait. We then had to ask for a discount for the inconvenience. Food was nice, staff friendly, just a bit disappointed.
Magnificent food experience and truly exceptional service!
Our evening at Wright Brothers was lovely. The food was delicious and the service was excellent on the night. I’d definitely recommend
