The service was great, a nice welcome and friendly charming waiters. The Dover sole at £20 was a great price and was very good. Sharing platters are confusing - how many do you order? We ordered one for,the teo of us as a starter thinking it would be sufficient, but you get three small scallops do have to cut one in half. No bread was offered. I ordered an extra starter to sake up for the lack of food. The sole as I said was excellent, but the fries were very salty. The rhubarb crumble was cold and a very small portion. The bill was £150 for two. I would not return.
Had a really nice lunch here and we decided to stay until it was happy hour oysters (basically they were £1 a piece). We had mussels (which were great) and some appetisers. The wine selection paired really good with the food. However, was slightly disappointed by the standard of the happy hour oysters (they were a lot smaller than the ones not on happy hour). Nonetheless, would definitely come back for happy hour anyway, as it is reasonably cheap compared to other oyster places.
Been before and they always continue to be the best at what they do. Took advantage of their Oyster happy hour. Service was slightly inattentive. Some of their fried dishes are a bit too oily. Otherwise all other dishes are amazing. Would return.
great service, superb in fact and build your own platter is brilliant. been here a few times now, never disappointed.
The best octopus I think I've ever had! Excellent staff who were able to recommend wine & food pairings with ease.
The service and the food were outstanding. We had a great time.
We enjoyed our NYE dinner at Wright Brothers, food, wine and service all excellent as always. Only concern is that the tables are very close together and loud conversations nearby caused us to raise our own voices to have a conversation.
Monkfish and pumpkin curry superb!
Perfect for fish, great suggestions from waiters: ceviche, sea bream and scallops.
This spot is a real happening place! It is justly bustling with a good many people enjoying their meals! The food and service are great! Highly recommended!
We had the oyster selection which was so fresh, followed by the Galician Octopus. The portion of Octopus was rather small considering it was a sharer but nevertheless it was absolutely delicious. The Panang Mussels were so more-ish I could’ve drunk the sauce with a straw!
The food was great as always but there was a very unfortunate incident today where there was a mouse scuttling across the table where I was sitting. A waiter came to chat and was very gracious but no offer was made to take a discount to the bill. This was disappointing as the mouse was there throughout the dinner...highly concerning at a restaurant!
Great selection and variety of food
Excellent seafood restaurant that never fails to please
Usually go to Spitalfields, this is just as good. great night.
We had our family pre-Christmas dinner here. The quality of the food is great, especially if you like fish. The service was good and friendly. The ambiance was perfect. Definitely recommend and will return ourselves.
Great oyster selection, absolutely brilliant hake with clams. Wine should have been colder. Very nice waitress - good service. Not enough toilets for a restaurant of this size, and they needed a tidy up. I liked it here, but I prefer their Borough Market branch, which is one of my favourite restaurants.
Really amazing as always, thank you! Very friendly waitress who's service was very on it, great setting and great food. The Ray Wing is lovely, would recommend.
The ambience was really good, nice spot for a date night. The service was great however the food was a little over priced. Loved the little details of the interior design.
Amazing food the fish was sublime and so was the atmosphere
Smile-free, lacklustre service but good food, though the seabass was extremely salty. When we asked for our coats back, mine was soaking wet through as they'd obviously packed them in with a load of umbrellas. Asked for a bottle of water and it came - no ice, lemon or frills. Not bad, but not really worth £155 for 2.
Incredibly delicious food in a wonderful setting.
Lovely food, excellent service, great ambience.
Had a very lovely family meal.
Very nice restaurant indeed, a little bit pricy and slow service. Overall, I would recommend friends to go there for special occasion when they really want to impress their guests..
Absolutely delightful service from Amelia. Great oysters. NB the Jerseys are better than their selection and the same price. Good wine list by glass.
Booked this for 4 male friends to have our Xmas Dinner. The atmosphere was certainly a very romantic one, with nearly every table having couples adorned by candle lights. We didn't mind this, although we were positioned in the middle of the restaurant, so we did radiate more energy than most. So if you want a more raucous ambience, this is not the place.
Food was well presented, but small in terms of portions, and even though my colleague had a full crab, it still left him quite hungry. I had the sea bass, and this was pleasant, although was a little overdone. The desserts were also nice, but the pannacotta felt de-frosted, and my friend's fig crumble was a little dry. The lemon tart was very nice, as were the dessert wines (Muscat and Sauternes).
Overall it was a nice evening, with good service, good food and a nice mellow atmosphere. The prices were a little high given the overall quality, but in keeping with a seafood establishment.
We would go again, and recommend to others.
Not sure what has happened here. I usually come in for oysters once a month. On this occasion the oysters were full of grit. my friend and i kept having to pick shell and grit out of our mouths. It was horrible. The service always leaves a lot to be desired. They are busy but that means hire more staff?
Wine was a bit much.
The seafood platter could have been better.
Thanks to the manager for giving us a nice table
we were surprised our starters were served 3 minutes after our Oysters arrived which was unsettling and made us feel rushed. We felt the food was excellent but service needs to be slowed down a tad.
The Octopus was cooked to perfection so thank you.
How places change. When it opened it was special with varied fish themed meals including a superb fish soup.the staff fell, over you with enthusiasm and the prices were as expeected for London.
I went in December..smoked salmon, described as as sa sharing dish, the same price as in the best fish restaurants was too mean for one..a joke to share. The fish main course, not on the menu or blackboard offered when a special ran out, was I’m sure, frozen and over griddled so tasted burnt. The staff had to a
Apologise for the bad service stating they had a large party in.
Places can change, but so can customers.
Excellent Soho joint. The fish is fresh, and the variety of cooking methods is creative. The Octopus was some of the best I have ever eaten. Service is absolutely outstanding. We had a great night & will return.
First time I’ve been , great service. Surprised on the quality of the food overall very good will be back. Thanks
Super good deal with the oyster happy hour!! We had a fab time with our “starter”, the dessert and birthday cake came in perfect timing. The only disappointment was the surf & turf’s prawns was not as fresh as it should be. Otherwise this visit will have top marks!!
Great food. Second time I’ve been. Good portion sizes for mussels. Tables were very cramped together as it was a Saturday night.
2 of the specials I ordered had been sold out, at 7.30pm on a Saturday so I had no choice to order a 3rd option which I was not keen on. When it arrived the fish was undercooked. Starter of tuna tataki was not fresh and very fishy.
Cocktails were good though.
Service was poor and there were multiple mistakes, I'm not a fussy person so when I cannot even eat a main course, it's bad.
As always, this place never fails to deliver, time and time again.
The best Seafood place in London bar none. staff are extremely attentive and helpful, ambience is vibrant but chilled with a touch of class - you know your in the spot when time stands still and good company and food is all you think about.
This is always my go to place
Nice place and pleasant service but very small portions of fish and several dishes over cooked, wine was not cold enough despite repeatly requesting more ice. Not good value for money- dinner for 4 £300 for a mediocre meal
It was a fairly important birthday occasion and my sons and I were looking forward to spending some time with each other in a decent Friday night spot in Soho. The shellfish platter was faultless, I have to say. Exactly as it should be in Wright Brothers. The Muscadet Sur Lie was super. The main courses, however, were uniformly disappointing. One expects gastropub quality, preferably higher, and all three dishes failed. The sea bass fillet was overcooked; the burnt butter sauce on the plaice was so burnt it was acerbically bitter; while one side of the ray wing was just mushy. Service was, let's say, intermittent. I'd hope to think this was just an unlucky evening because the Borough branch has never let us down.
We had to eat with out coats on due to the draft through the faulty door. Following our oysters we waited 50minutes for our main course, a selection of small fish plates. We were not notified of any delay. My girlfriend didn’t have her wine topped up twice and we had to ask for tap water three times.
The food when it came was good.
It was great to eat just oyster and mussels. The rest was over cook and it was tasteless. Especially prawns, octopus and calamari. I took my best friend there as a birthday present. I was disappointed. I never go there again
