Big fan of Spital location - this one is most disappointing. Imagine having dinner in the middle of a shopping centre and they have run out of all the food.
Warm welcome and offered choice of table. Initial service was good. Starters and mains arrived timely manner . Then shift change and service declined desertsand coffee ordering and delivery very slow, shame as it coloured our experience.Overall food was good .
The Food and Service was Excellent!!! I will recommend this place to family and friends.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Pleasure to go there!
Was amazing but we have not left the toilet since :(
These things happen though.
Only one bad thing to say - there were quite a few items on the menu that weren't available that night - from fish, crab and sides to desserts. BUT, the food was excellent, good quality and delicious. Would definitely recommend. Perhaps Sundays aren't the best days to go if they don't have everything on the menu after a busy weekend, but nonetheless it's still disappointing to book a restaurant based on their awesome menu, only to find that many dishes aren't even available when you get there. I can understand them not having all the fresh fish and seafood (as that's seasonal and dependent on supply), but there's no excuse for not having sides, vegetables or desserts. Would go again though. Oysters are amazing, and so is the dover sole.
Bday treat. Very busy night on a Friday and table not ready at 9.15pm as per my booking, overall after waiting 10 minutes we have been sat and served. The service was great and the little surprise for my bday was much appreciated. thanks to all team!
Service seemed uninterested, my fish was so charred it was bitter. There are so many better places in soho.
Excellent fresh seafood, good wine, friendly and informed service. It is always a pleasure to dine at Wright Brothers and their Soho restaurant is one of their best. We were going to the London Palladium and this restaurant is in easy reach of that - and because we could be served at 5 there was none of the usual pre theatre rush about the meal.
Back for some oysters and the twisted collins cocktail. Its always a treat. We were sat at a booth near the service station and it was a little loud with clanking cutlery. Not the best place to put a service station (behind a customer and at ears reach)
We love Wright Brothers, the food, staff, ambiance all excellent! Have to say really like the Soho ‘makeover’! Also like the fact that the menus at all the Wright Brothers Restaurants are similar but not identical.
Awful!!!!! I was recommended this restaurant for a business lunch and arrived at 1.30pm and the restaurant was virtually empty. Service was atrocious and extremely slow. Bread was requested at least twice before it arrived & drink refills were not forthcoming. A special was ordered however the waitress omitted to tell us that there was a 25 minute cook time. Eventually 1 hour after sitting down we finally got our meals however the pork belly was literally all belly fat and no meat which was sent back. The manager did apologise but tried to convince us that this was normal!!!!! On the plus side my colleagues did love the whole sea bass special.
Great offer from 3pm to 6pm everyday: 1 oyster for 1£, which is amazing! Highly recommended ;)
Lovely restaurant if you like seafood and fish. Excellent customer service
Lovely anniversary dinner. Decided on Wright Bros as my husband REALLY wanted oysters. They did not disappoint. Menu a little difficult to navigate, would have gone for the small bites but weren't really sure. R loved his plaice, my fish was lovely although I think Prawn Crumb was a tad misleading for a creamy sauce. Super tasty though. Chilies in the spinach great, I am going to do that in future. Enjoyed my pudding wine. Charming service. A very very nice evening. Not spectacular, but just right.
good feeling，great service
Very disappointed. Food nothing to rave about. Cocktails small and expensive. Uni sex toilets grubby.
Best place to get the freshest seafood in London. Bar none. ❤
Really good selection of fresh oysters, shellfish and seafood. Good choice for meat eaters, too. Excellent wine list.
I go here a lot. Sadly the biggest let down always seems to be the service. The waitstaff are friendly but unfortunately not attentive. We had attended the soft launch of the new menu. Everything was delicious (except for the ceviche - quite a let down). The octopus was the best octopus i have had (and I eat a lot of octopus!). The batter on the squid was light and crispy. Well cooked so it was tender. The tuna takati also good - but I felt it should have been only seared on the outside and raw inside. It was a little too well done for my liking.
I think the restaurant need to work on service. It lets the kitchen down every time which is unfortunate as the food is delightful as a whole.
We went for soft opening and recevied 50% off the bill.
Original prices can not be justified, great ingredients but suprisingly untasty food. Razor clams were chewy and other dishes did not impress either.
Really shame as I was excited about new opening seafood restaurant on my hood.
Also something need to be done for acoustics downstairs, hardly hear my other half over small table.
Staff was good but seasoning on dishes need to look into.
Went during the reopening period after a recent refurb. We were sat at the back of the restaurant, would suggest some opaque glass here as a lovely table had a large window view of loading bays and the smoking area for kitchen staff and pub goers, detracts from a lovely ambiance.
We decided to stick with small plates, all were good though we would have liked more bread with the smoked salmon. The salmon had been cut thickly and was very good.
This outpost of the Wright Bros mini chain is in the heart of vibrant Kingly Court and the restaurant reflects that with a buzzy atmosphere. Service was pleasant and friendly, if a little off-hand. That said, it was a busy evening so staff were stretched.
The Korean whelks from the starter section are not to be missed; these stole the show and were the highlight of the meal for me. Most dishes are small plates, designed for sharing and similarly in keeping with the current trend, everything comes when it's ready, which is annoying when you're a single diner trying to eat everything before it goes cold. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the whole meal more if everything had been served at a more leisurely pace. Also the soft-shell crab could really have done with a squeeze of lemon to cut through the batter.
It was ok. The sashimi was overpriced for three pieces. Was not expecting that.
The broccoli side was also nothing special. Octopus was superb and the only standout dish.
Fantastic food in a great setting - service was excellent couldn't fault it for a date night. Especially recommend the double sucker octopus and tempura squid.
We had a late bite to eat and were seated next to the open kitchen, It's worth noting that the downstairs space can be hired for private events. It's a great spot for a business meal or birthday with the theatre of kitchen on hand. Everything was very fresh well balanced seasonal dishes, prepared to perfection. The service was excellent and the new décor is great! I would highly recommend for any occasion.
I have been to this restaurant a number of times and the food is always good. This time I went for the house platter and whole crab - everything was delicious. My boyfriend had croquettes and hanger steak. He was rather disappointed by the steak - it looks like a tiny 4 ounce portion with 2 miserable looking prawns to accompany it. Hunger steak is a cheap cut of meat and at £22 it's a bit of a rip off for a tiny size.
The total bill with one cider came to £106
Fab restaurant with some great food choices. Great fun watching the amazing platters of seafood being delivered around the restaurant, and everything we had was delicious. A couple of points though: the front door was slamming really loudly every few minutes which ruined the atmosphere, and the loos were horrific!
Venue, atmosphere, seating and service were faultless. However the octopus we had was tough and overcooked and the mussels were not washed thoroughly so we had grit. It was a shame because we loved being there and had wanted to go for months. We might try one of the other locations to see if this was a variance in the cookery team in Soho. As a general restaurant it was great but the food quality at that price really let it down.
Loved the new menu. Particularly enjoyed the prawn heads. Oysters divine. Take a date.
Love the place! The food ! The atmosphere ! Amazing !
The 1£ Oysters served daily 3-6 are deliscious, can highly recommend these.
Very impressed by the quality of food and a decent wine selection. The croquets and whelks to start were absolutely amazing and would highly recommend both dishes. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend for all occasions!
We were really excited to try the food at the SOHO restuarant. The oysters were lovely. Unfortunately, both mine and my partners lobster was extremely chewy. We gave our feedback to the waitress & chef. They were very good with the feedback so the service was overall great. However, the men's toilet was also totally blocked. Not the best first experience! The oysters are worth going back for though..
Excellent food especially the crab and french oyster which is wroth to try.
Located in the golden place just very close to the Oxford street, where you can go shopping after the good meal.
And the restaurant hides inside a alley so it’s quiet and good for personal chatting.
Service quality to traveler could be better, they tend to put the customers together with the area where there is a little bit crowded.
We sat outside with seating on vibrant buzzing courtyard. Service ok although initially slow. Good very good and reasonably priced. Good range of wine. Just great relaxed al-fresco dining atmosphere.
We picked Wright bros for the reputation and for a special occasion. The decor was ok- our table was a bit too close to the neighbouring tables for my liking, but comfy enough. The waiting staff were not particularly attentive- I wondered if they were short staffed- they seemed very rushed, the guy at the table
Next to me had to request a wine list specifically (told you we were close!) Our waitress had to look up the details of the oyster selection- not in itself a problem- but when we asked about sharing a whole lobster for two we got a dismissive ‘it comes in two halves anyway’. When the lobster then arrived- there was one small portion of fries so clearly not for two and we had to order another- which came quickly, again not too much of a problem. What was an issue was the lobster- when spending that kind of money on food, you don’t expect one half to be charred (I’m being kind- it was burnt) and dry- and the two halves were quite clearly from two entirely different lobsters- one with a much smaller claw.
When my partner, in the absence of our waitress, had a word with another of the staff (possibly in charge that night, he seemed more senior) he was apologetic and immediately offered another half- which took a while to come out, but when it arrived was a whole world better than the first.
Wine was good and reasonably priced, and otherwise there was no issue with the quality of the meal (although the cheese plate portions were disappointingly small).
My disappointment stems from the feeling that a restaurant purporting to be an experienced seafood specialist really shouldn’t have been sending out a lobster that over- charred in the first place... and why couldn’t we just have had an actual whole lobster rather than the mix and match arrangement?
My apologies to the lady at the next table who got a bit of my lobster shell missile..... (like I said, the tables were close!)
Service was not great. They put our bottle of white on ice by the till and left our glasses empty for about 15 minutes.
Portion size was ridiculous. The £12 scallop ceviche was about 1/2 a scallop.
If you love seafood this is fantastic! Seafood platter are a bot expensive but if you chose from the main menu the price is ok. Outdoor seating is really nice. Our waiter was fantastic and really recommended the best from the menu!
Food was really good, wine was great. We loved the selection of oysters and the champagne. Overall a very good dining experience in a lovely place.
