Wyers Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We had a lovely meal with excellent ,attentive staff. It was a Birthday celebration.
The food was amazing .
6 of us enjoyed mainly juicy steaks & burgers.
We were 3 nieces & 3 Aunties celebrating a 50th Birthday.
I would highly recommend Wyers in Amsterdam for any occasion.
The place is stylish, casual & comfortable. The service was attentive, informative & very friendly without being intrusive. All the staff wore natural unforced smiles, radiating a pride in their work that contributed very positively to the overall ambiance. The food was truly delicious on both of the occasions we visited. Sammy’s Lollipop Chicken Wings were a revelation, real American comfort food raised to a level that seems impossible & the Wood Grilled Veal Chop was tender, succulent & very tasty.
Food was excellent. Had the ricotta appetizer and shared the sea bass( fish of the day), And a arugula salad and mixed grilled vegetables. Lemon vanilla cheesecake with rhubarb compote was outstanding. Service was attentive and very helpful. Had a great dinner!
We went to Wyres on Sunday 18th of June for a business meal.
We were a table of six people and I had sourced the restaurant on the internet and thought it looked interesting and querky.
this restaurant did not disappoint. Our waiters were Orlando and Charlotta who were superb and looked after our every need.
The food was sublime. We all opted for the onion soup to start. I had lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. The mussels, monster burger and sea bass were also perfect (I am told).
The whole evening ran smoothly and we walked through to the Kimpton hotel which we were told has only been open 4 weeks and this was very impressive so no doubt we will be staying there and eating in Wyres again.
Thanks for a wonderful evening
We spotted Wyers online. A new restaurant, looking cosy & trendy, so we went on a Friday night. When entering the bar, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and suggested a table near the front window. We spotted the bar seats at the open kitchen, and requested to move over there. That's how we met Chef SammyD and before we could decided on our menu, the chef invited us to taste a daily special starter, delicious raw salmon with sour vegetables. First thing we noticed: this starters is big. But hey, now we could not order starters. That would look cheap. So we did. We decided on Vitello Tonato and a Red Quinoa salad, and we both felt like Longhaas steak with béarnaise as entree. The Vitello Tonato was a double european sized tartare, no thin slices. It was delicious but looked bulky. The Red Quinoa salad was a day ration. The main was perfect: great (and lots of) french fries, steak grilled to perfection and a fresh salad. "We do have a lot of American visitors, sir" was the reply. No desserts of course, we felt stuffed and cancelled our bar crawl that night.
My bimonthly meetup with a studyfriend always starts with a dinner before the Opera. This time we ended up at Wyers, a superb place to chat, to enjoy good food and wine. The service was completely adjusted to our opera schedule, nice people, good ambiance. A great experience.
Wyers looks really nice, and I think it's a good place for cocktails and drinks, but we were not too fond of the quality of the food. The guy who was our waiter was absolutely friendly, and came several times to our table to check if we were still happy. However the food, we had two times the burger, mussels and a vegetarian pasta was below standards. Both burgers were well done, although one was ordered medium/rare. The patties were soaked in grease and moist, and the meat itself missed flavour. Actually all dishes missed salt (in our humble opinion) . I'd definatelty go there for drinks, but the kitchen needs to spice it up!
