Modern interpretations of European classics paired brilliantly with British dishes at Yorkshire Tapas, incorporating ingredients such as chorizo, braised pig cheek, picked beets and belly pork for inventive flavour combinations thats all sourced from Yorkshire.
Staff are friendly, food it great. It's a go to with family and or friends. Always a great night. Love it.
This restaurant is located above the Blues Café Bar which has live music every night. We wanted to combine food and proper live music (not some singer with backing tracks) so this place fitted the bill. On arrival you first enter the Blues Bar before ascending the stairs to the restaurant. A disco was playing before the live band came on. The disco felt it necessary to be loud enough to break the windows and made it difficult for the waiter to speak to us, After a while, it reduced volume to a comfortable level upstairs. I think the band may have said something while they were setting up . . . . .
Anyway, the band is visible from the restaurant via a video + sound link and was at the right level upstairs. The food was interesting and enjoyable having a fairly wide 'Yorkshire' menu which meant classic foods re-named in a Yorkshire mode for a bit of fun. The service was good and friendly. When we had eaten, we thought we would look in downstairs but it is clearly a 'stand - up - and - drink' kind of place. The music was on the loud side (and I have been playing in rock bands for 50 years) so all in all not quite comfortable enough. The place was packed so clearly, this does not put the younger punters off. The band was not bad (Jed Thomas Blues Band) with avoidance of all the blues clichés appreciated.
All in all, a nice change for a night out if you appreciate proper live music and decent food.
Grand wee place. Noisy but that is to be e pected from a small bar with live music!
Staff were excellant, honest warnings about which items were in high demand and likely to be slower, appreciated warning about tapas portions being larger than typical for spainish tapas.
Food was excellant, yorkshire staples miniturised into tapas. Also much cheaper than expected given the location and surrounding restraunts.
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
The service and staff were super and not be faulted.
Had seen this online and so pleased we booked, everything about it was fantastic. The food was great (we got 6 tapas between 2 and there was enough for 2 good appetite) the blue cheese fondue was amazing!!. The service was also fantastic- the waiter/ bar man was great and very attentive- he got my husband a seat as uncomfortable in the booth. Would definitely recommend- it’s not a posh place but best food I’ve had in a long time
Ate dinner here on a busy Saturday night with three friends. Food was great, drinks menu extensive and the staff was efficient and friendly.
Really enjoyed the food, cocktails are great also. So reasonably priced as well! Highly recommend.
Slightly on the pricy side (slightly), but brilliantly executed. Was better than anticipated, with great staff. We'll be back.
Excellent food, really friendly staff and the music was brilliant. Also great value. Will definitely be back very soon.
Great food & the service is excellent - friendly & efficient. Went primarily for the live music, but you could just go for the food & bar. Can hear the music upstairs if you don't feel like standing up downstairs. Only been once but will definitely be going again.
Pre Harrogate Town FC lunch -
Great idea to serve Yorkshire produce based tapas , good beer and background music . Place had real blues /jazz bar feel and would like to visit in the evening to hear some live music .
What a find. Very different eating experience. Nice food, well presented. Would definitely go again
Wow...... the food was amazing! Beautiful dishes with clever ideas and a play on the original tapas!
The portions are Harry and so is the food, you want leave hungry that's for sure.
Staff warm and friendly, venue is quirky, cosy and a great atmosphere.
The live music was a bonus.
We truly lived our evening there and already planning our return. Highly recommended it to everyone.... maybe not vegans ha ha the meat though was so well cooked and cooked with love and care
Food is LOVELY! Great, quirky concept & quality ingredients. Will definitely be back.
Great to find an independent restaurant thats a bit different in Harrogate. Delicious food, comfortable relaxed environment and friendly staff. The barman had an encyclopaedic knowledge of all of his 100+ gins and the yorkshire tapas style of eating in a booth was quirky and fun.
Negatives for us were that the music was a tad too loud for easy conversation and the puddings/coffees seemed like an afterthought.
But other than that we had a super night out and would definitely come again.
12 of us dined here and where very impressed . Tapas with a Yorkshire twist . Small, cosy and friendly . The staff where very accommodating , a great evening was had by all . Most definitely recommended , a very pleasurable experience and we most certainly will be back !
This venue is amazing. The food is excellent and the live music afterwards was an added bonus. We ordered 6 different meals all of which were generous for two people sharing. Excellent value and not overly priced. Thank you we will come again 😊
We arrived on time for our booking. We were not expected and were told the chef “should” be in soon. We were left menus and we ordered water while we waited to place our order. No water was delivered after 20 minutes. We were the only patrons in the upstairs restaurant. We had selected the tapas we wanted to order but nobody came to take our order.
As we had tickets for an evening performance we felt we could not wait for a chef who may or may not show up. Note that the place was open and our reservation had been confirmed by both Open Table and a note fro Dale from the restaurant. We would never try to go here again. There was nothing that impressed us although we were all excited and interested to try their Yorkshire tapas, we didn’t get anything and our positive expectTions turned very negative. It’s a tale to tell others!
Lovely Sunday afternoon Tapas. the curry was amazing , as was the Yorkshire wrap with beef. Friendly staff excellent service, reasonably priced and even the chef came to check everything was ok. Really enjoyed our afternoon and we will definitely return.
I have eaten before in The Blues Bar and the food was 100% better than my recent visit. This time nothing was freshly cooked. When we complained they said “we will give you a 25% voucher off next meal” why didn’t they put right the meal on the night?
Amazing food! Absolutely loved the table, especially when it was so hot and the breeze was great. Will definitely go back and recommend to everyone young and old!
Food is great. Fab choice at the bar, inc mocktails. Staff are lovely, warm and friendly. Atmosphere is fun. Great place to eat with a group of friends and family.
We turned up to find out they didn't serve on a Monday or Tuesday. Should not have been able to book a slot, needs amending. Great little bar with live music and great atmosphere. I am sure it would be a lovely place to eat!
We had a fantastic afternoon, food was fantastic and the entertainment brilliant
Will definitely be back
Fantastic meal lots of choices friendly knowledgeable staff will definately be back highly reccomended
A hidden gem! Great variety of Yorkshire Tapas with friendly service and good atmosphere. Blue cheese fondue was delicious! Waiting staff were very knowledgeable too. We had a cosy table overlooking the green outside. We'll be back!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was beautiful and quite easily could have ordered he whole menu. Lovely atmosphere, cosy and great value for money
Great food--authentic Yorkshire tapas and live music in the bar downstairs!
Lovely staff. Some members of the group did not like the food arriving at different times but we had been warned.Tasty food but a bit too much red cabbage. (On nearly every dish) Will definitely go again.
Enjoyed our meal. Lovely Yorkshire Fayre.
Good music, friendly atmosphere, good service.
Like stepping back in time...all good fun.
Lovely ambience, great tasty food, excellent service and brilliant value. Popped downstairs for live music and drinks in a quirky friendly bar.
Very friendly service and relaxed eating of tapas Yorkshire style
Excellent night with fantastic food, the cheese fondue has definitely made a successful come back & is a must.
We visited Yorkshire Tapas on a cold, wet Easter Monday. We were greeted with a warm welcome and directed upstairs. Yorkshire Tapas is houses within a fab Gin bar with lovely green booths to sit in. We chose a booth for two in the window and I went to pursue the 120 Gins in offer. The young girl on the bar was new but didn’t let it faze her; she recommended some Gins to try. We deliberately booked a table for 2pm as a singer was due to start their set in the downstairs bar. What a treat we were in for, his voice was like velvet 😍
We were promptly served by the same girl and she recommended we try 3 portions of tapas each but as we were due to eat out again later that day we opted for 2 each. We were so glad we did as the portions were most generous. We had Yorkshire pudding with mash and beef, Belly pork in a delicious gravy, Yorkshire pudding wrap and a side of proper chips, cooked in dripping. Everything was absolutely delicious and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yorkshire Tapas, their delicious food and their fab and friendly staff 😁
Enjoyable meal in the booths upstairs at The Blues Café. Really friendly service on a busy night. You can eat your meal and watch the band on the TV (but hear them live) then wander downstairs later. If you like live music you’ll love it
A different eating experience with the Yorkshire Tapas theme. Food generally ok but not special. Calamari great but only 4 rings for £7! Hence, price adds up to eat enough courses. A good atmosphere if you like it load. Waitress very helpful but busy. I would recommend you try it to see if it is to your taste.
What a find !!! Great service & the food was sensational. We went with some of the recommendations from the guy that served us. He'd obviously had eaten the food he was selling & was very passionate about the menu & his knowledge about each dish was spot on. The live music just made the night. We're definitely putting the Yorkshire tapas on the top of our to do list next time we visit Harrogate.
Good food, excellent beer, good service.
The booths offer a great intimate space.
The Blues Bar is conveniently located, set in a lively bar atmosphere with regular live music. The tapas food served was exceptional and the service was polite and efficient. We had a great time.
Great "Yorkshire" eating experience. We had booked and were given, after some debate, the window table for two! The 'tapas' was a delightful selection of traditional Yorkshire specialities and we were pleased but somewhat surprised to see that some Yorkshire-style Indian dishes had made it to the menu. The 'desserts' were missing and, with Betty's Cafe only next door, there could easily have been Yorkshire Curd Tart on the menu. The Rumanian waiter knew nothing of the Yorkshireness of the menu and would have been unable to advise. However, his service was very polite, accurate and accommodating - well done Sir! The 'tapas-style' eating worked well for us and the final bill was very acceptable. Unfortunately, the music in the Blues Bar on the night we were there was cancelled through lack of a drummer! Very disappointing end to our evening in Harrogate.
