Yorkshire Tapas at The Blues Cafe Bar Ratings and Reviews
Great "Yorkshire" eating experience. We had booked and were given, after some debate, the window table for two! The 'tapas' was a delightful selection of traditional Yorkshire specialities and we were pleased but somewhat surprised to see that some Yorkshire-style Indian dishes had made it to the menu. The 'desserts' were missing and, with Betty's Cafe only next door, there could easily have been Yorkshire Curd Tart on the menu. The Rumanian waiter knew nothing of the Yorkshireness of the menu and would have been unable to advise. However, his service was very polite, accurate and accommodating - well done Sir! The 'tapas-style' eating worked well for us and the final bill was very acceptable. Unfortunately, the music in the Blues Bar on the night we were there was cancelled through lack of a drummer! Very disappointing end to our evening in Harrogate.
Service was great to start with and the waiter was happy to give advice on how many tapas etc. When the food came it was delicious - lots of different tastes which suited all our party. The atmosphere was very relaxed and would definitely recommend eating here.
We ate here last Saturday evening & we are so pleased we did The food was gorgeous we ordered 5 tapas dishes between us and the potions were very generous there was definitely more than enough. Loved the Yorkshire tapas theme The staff were fantastic very welcoming we even had our own cocktail concocted Can't wait to go back on our next visit to Harrogate

This is just what Harrogate needed, a real hidden gem.
This place was recommended by someone who we spoke to earlier in the day who had eaten Lunch their that same day.
What a find!!!
The food was fantastic and cooked very well, we ordered what seemed like everything, I was so full but I couldn't leave an empty plate.
I had the Yorkshire chorizo chilli with fresh bakers bread,
The flambé Slingsby gin chorizo sausage & couldn’t resist the Yorkshire Pudding with Brisket Beef
The service, food and presentation was second to none.
We were so impressed we're back next Thursday!
Dined at Yorkshire Tapas last night and had a great evening. The food was delicious, a personal favourite was the pork belly - would highly recommend. Friendly staff and yummy food. Overall we had a fab evening and came away feeling full and satisfied! Will be visiting again soon for sure !
We went early evening so it was rather quiet in the upstairs restaurant. Could have done with some low background music. The upstairs gin bar was brilliant and the barman was very knowledgeable and took time to talk to us about the different kinds of gin. I tried one that was rhubarb and ginger which was very nice. Unfortunately the live music did not start until 9.30pm, by which time we were heading back to our hotel. The tapas was a little disappointing and the menu range could do with being a little wider. All in all we really enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to others.
Service got off to a shaky start, apparently due to a power cut in the kitchen, they only told us after we reminded them we'd been waiting nearly an hour! The waiter apologized profusely and brought us a bowl of chips 'To be going on with'! (Fantastic btw). Rest of our food was fabulous, pulled pork and haddock goujons which with the chips was plenty for two of us. The live music was Ace and a great atmosphere, staff and locals exceptionally friendly - a really great find. Highly recommended
The waitresses in the upstairs restaurant and bar were extremely friendly, humorous, and had extensive knowledge of the dishes on the menu. For good traditional Yorkshire food 'with a twist' this place is a must. The 'Yorkshire Tapas' dishes are definitely more substantial than any 'Spanish Tapas'!! Don't miss the hand cut chips done in beef dripping fat! Tasted like chips should taste! - all round enjoyable evening, especially when you factor in the live music too.
We enjoyed the food and drink . The barman was very amiable but knew nothing about beers and selected one for my partner seemingly randomly and without asking, luckily he enjoyed it. I suspect his Romanian origins influenced his manner but would like to see this improved next time. Nice chap though! 🙂 We weren't keen on the high sided booths I'm afraid as it meant we had far more room than necessary and couldn't see anything going on in the room. The food was nice though and the live music great.
