When it comes to sourcing our ingredients, we have chosen each producer very carefully. Fresh whole fish comes in from day boats off Cornwall and whole lambs from local suppliers are butchered in-house.
Executive Chef Hus Vedat – ‘My food philosophy is simple: choose good ingredients from producers that are passionate. Treat those ingredients with respect. Lick them with fire and let them shine. For Yosma, I will be exploring influences and flavours from my heritage. I want to showcase the depth, character, and history of Anatolian food and drink (while having fun) and sharing the fascinating stories behind one the world’s most prominent cuisines.’
Friendly service by lovely waiters. Great food. But beware of the creepy art work! Good for get togethers, but probably not for romantic dinners.
The food was very bland and didn’t have any taste at all. Even the chips had a weird taste. No seasoning at all.
Max and Ockan were very hospitable and lovely. All staff are attentive. Great food and service. Would deffo go back
The restaurant is very spacious with an open kitchen, large bar area and some seating outside. Casual and not pretentious at all and very high professionalism.
Before I get to the food, a couple of notes about the people working there. Special shout out to Ricardo, a young mixologist from Brazil who is developing his own unique cocktails and to our server Jade. She is a native Londoner and one of the friendliest and nicest of people you could ever expect to meet. She's working and saving up to go on to school to become a Social Worker and you will be very lucky to have her as your server.
Now for the food! We started with a Melon and Feta. The sweetness of the melon and slight saltiness of the feta made for a great combination. Think of a prosciutto and melon dish, but for vegetarians. We complimented that with Fava bean puree with dill and EVOO. It's very true to the fava bean flavor in that not a lot of salt or acid (think lemon juice) is added to it. A very good palate cleanser.
Next we moved to Manti (Turkish dumplings, stuffed with lamb neck, yogurt sauce, chilli oil, mint) and an order of Pastirma (Charred Oyster Mushrooms with Chillli-cured egg, black truffle). The Manti is very well balanced with the yogurt, oil and mint. As for the Pastirma, the char they add give it an even more earthy flavor add the silkiness of the egg and truffle you could find yourself eating this dish all night. As our entree's we had Ali Nazik (Lamb Rump, Smoked aubergine, lime yogurt, burnt tomato) and Tandir Iskender (Pulled lamb shoulder, garlic yogurt, chili butter on flat bread). The lamb in the Ali Nazik was cooked perfectly and with the earthy smokey flavor of the aubergine combined with the slight acidic lime and tomato it tasted wonderful. The Iskender had a slightly more delicate flavor and we left no plate unclean.
Yosma is now one of our MUST eat places in London and we will make this one of our first stops next time. Thanks to everyone there for an amazing dinner.
Took a group of girlfriends to Yosma and from the moment we walked in we had outstanding service. Smiles, friendly chat, prompt delivery of drinks and food. Jade our waitress was particularly amazing - she answered all of our questions on the cuisine, made us feel super welcome and was just a super-warm person - all of my friends commented how great everyone serving us was.
The food was delicious and great to have the small plates style so that we could all share and try lots of different things. All of us would return to this place with it's fantastic team, lovely and different food and handy location (only 5 mins walk from Baker St station).
The staff were really nice and attentive. I mentioned that the booking was for my friends birthday and they kindly brought out a slice of cheesecake with a candle and birthday message written in chocolate sauce around the plate which was a lovely surprise for her!
The cheesecake was ah-mazing by the way!!!
The venue is lovely also .. would recommend!
It was good . really posh and overpriced but overall okay.
we had the lunch special menu. cuz we thought it would be faster.
weather was nice so we sat outside on the tables on the sidewalk. baker street is busy and good to sit outside.
the chicken main that two of us got was undercooked and had a few pink centers and one red center.
this is unacceptable . also they took a long time to do the lunch service (especially since we told them that we were in a hurry) but food came real slow.
they comped one chicken as it was really bad but not the other even though that diner couldnt eat it fully either.
they offered to cook it more but we were in a hurry so we ate around it .
Great food, only thing I would say is portions are small for what you pay, most dishes are £7-12 and some did not seem very good value for money. Taste was excellent just a tad overpriced.
Staff were excellent and very attentive so would recommend the restaurant we had ten mezes between four but with some of the portion sizes this is perfect and less and may need more.
I went to Yosma just on my own for breakfast, traveling from south east London and it was definitely worth it. Service was excellent and I have to say lovely waitress Jade's smiley face and kindness made me feel not on my own. Next time, I'll take my family with me.
I saw your restaurant on Instagram and cake for the Kunafeh! Did not disappoint! It’s the best Kunafeh I’ve ever had in London. Reminded me of my time in Istanbul.
Good food good staff a large space
Great breakfast, and suprisingly good value for money! Love the £2.00 bottomless turkish tea! :)
Service amazing. But food let it down. This is the third time I’ve come as I always like to restaurants a few chances. But the food really is disappointing. Bland and lacking in much flavour. The calamari was greasy and flavourless, the same went with the humous. The manti were so tiny you could taste hardly any mince meat, just loads of under seasoned yoghurt. And the cocktails were just terrible... BUT the service was amazing!
best restaurant in London. service superb from start to finish and the food was exceptionally fresh!
Excellent food but very poor service. What a waste!
Yosma is now a firm favourite. Food is consistently good, beautifully cooked and presented. Main course lamb kofte was particularly delicious. Wine was excellent too and very good value. Only criticism, we found the music quite loud on this occasion, which made conversation a bit difficult. Looking forward to our next visit.
Had a lovely evening at Yosma. The food was fantastic and the attention to detail with the flavours set them apart from other Turkish restaurants. The konafa dessert has made me come back 4 times - it's better than konafa in the Middle East! The service was second to none - Ellison was amazing: kind, efficient and he just made the evening that bit more special. It was my husband's birthday so we decided to do a dinner date after our little one's bed time. We were sceptical at first, thinking he would be a noisy nuisance but Ellison and Jade ensured he was kept busy and entertained and made us feel most welcome. We can't wait to come back and would definitely recommend Yosma - thank you!
The food and ambience were good. Our service from our main server was very disappointing. We had to continue to get his attention when we wanted something and had to wait an excruciatingly long time to finally get our bill and pay. We were interested in ordering dessert but couldn’t find our server at most points after our mains we’re dropped off. The restaurant was busy but other servers looked like they were still able to manage their sections. The tone of our server was rude at points and a face was made (a roll of the eyes) when I was trying to pay for the bill.
I would return again because the food was really good but wouldn’t be inclined to recommend to friends in case they had a poor service experience as we did.
Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. will go again.
Evening meal at Yoshma, seated by the window on some very comfortable seats!
The waiter was MAXIM very attentive, explained the menu in detail and advised on the best dishes so a great experience being served by him.
Food as Yoshma is great, would highly recommend the Tray Kebab to share....will definitely visit again!
Just wish portions were a bit bigger but it was delicious so cannot complain. I am definitely holding more business lunches at this place.
Everything was amazing. From the food to the staff. Really good. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was great, the chicken wings were so so good, and the knafeh (the main reason I went) was so so good. We sat at the counter by the kitchen, good seats to watch some kitchen action. I definitely recommend!
One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Great drinks selection.
Delicious food served in a really cool and chilled out setting. Staff knows about the food and happy to advise. Our server, Jade, was ten out of ten.
Super staff ! Super service! And superb food!
They pleasantly returned a glass of wine that we did not like ..
This was an interesting take on modern Turkish food however it didn't hit the spot this time. We felt the food just didn't have enough flavor even though the presentation was spectacular
Good food and convenient location for a business lunch near Baker Street. The restaurant is relatively quiet and vast and cuisine is very good, waiter provided a 20% discount. It took longer than it should have to get the bill so waiting staff could have been a little more attentive. Also went back the same evening to have a drink at the bar which serves great beer and service was good too (happy hour drinks)
We went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty quiet. Felt the place lacked atmosphere. The service was ok but not great, staff didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu.
For a Turkish restaurant it lacked any real authenticity and felt like it could have been any modern Mediterranean restaurant.
It was very disappointing! Service was poor. Waitress rarely available, mostly chatting among themselves at a corner. No knowledge of the menu. Food was tasteless. Table service was not properly set up at all. Some North London Turkish restaurants do much better!
great service, nice food but was just a little pricey for what it was.
Loved the balance of traditional ingredients with modern touch and creativity. Nice environment, attentive and friendly service.
The food and flavours were varied, intense and surprising. The selection of Turkish wines were a nice surprise. A great setting to gather with friends!
Nice place q bit noisy but its fun for frinds get together or having a nice meal. Excellent food - beautiful cooked meat and nice drinks.
Very ordinary, wouldn't go back blah blah blah blah blah blah
The service needs to be a lot quicker and more professional!
Fantastic food and fantastic setting
Excellent customer service...very attentive. Food was amazing and tasty but a little pricy. Overall really good place for dates and catching up with friends.
Great food, overall experience a let down, service was adhoc, a lot of waiting at a time when the restaurant was less than 1/2 full. Although highlighting at ordering that one of the guests is dairy intolerant, this was sadly ignored, more waiting as a result. Ambiance a bit wrong, loud music meant hard to converse, takes away a relaxing environment. We thought we were in a club sometimes and not a restaurant. Shame as the food is good but the other parts really let down the place.
What a wonderful surprise. The food was exquisite and exciting ! Excellent service despite being very busy . Definitely going back again .
