Welcome to Yosma! A turkish meyhane, mangal & raki bar inspired by the streets of Istanbul

When it comes to sourcing our ingredients, we have chosen each producer very carefully. Fresh whole fish comes in from day boats off Cornwall and whole lambs from local suppliers are butchered in-house.

Executive Chef Hus Vedat – ‘My food philosophy is simple: choose good ingredients from producers that are passionate. Treat those ingredients with respect. Lick them with fire and let them shine. For Yosma, I will be exploring influences and flavours from my heritage. I want to showcase the depth, character, and history of Anatolian food and drink (while having fun) and sharing the fascinating stories behind one the world’s most prominent cuisines.’

It was very disappointing! Service was poor. Waitress rarely available, mostly chatting among themselves at a corner. No knowledge of the menu. Food was tasteless. Table service was not properly set up at all. Some North London Turkish restaurants do much better!

Great food, overall experience a let down, service was adhoc, a lot of waiting at a time when the restaurant was less than 1/2 full. Although highlighting at ordering that one of the guests is dairy intolerant, this was sadly ignored, more waiting as a result. Ambiance a bit wrong, loud music meant hard to converse, takes away a relaxing environment. We thought we were in a club sometimes and not a restaurant. Shame as the food is good but the other parts really let down the place.

We go to Yosma often. Great ambiance and their weekend brunch is to die for!! Very closely modelled on the sumptuous Istanbul weekend brunch (quite a show!) they use authentic ingredients, well presented with quality produce. Bottomless Turkish black tea is a must! Always friendly service. We usually go with our kids and invite family friends. Great restaurant for dinner as well.

Great sharing starter/meze dishes and cocktails, but the mains were very disappointing (my beef rib was basically 90% fat). Decent, if overpriced, wine selection. Meal for4 plus some wine came to £320ish which I wouldn't expect for the quality of food. If I were to go again, I'd stick to the meze dishes only.

Really delicious food and charming efficient service. Everything was very fresh tasting and well prepared. We particularly liked the sardines wrapped in vine leaves and the short rib dish with aubergines. The meat was melt in the mouth. The wine list is not extensive but we very much enjoyed our bottle of Turkish wine. Our only criticism was that the music was a little loud but I’m sure they would have turned it down if we had asked. Hope to go back soon.

Overrated restaurant. Food has no taste, we received our coffe & hot chocolate cold, slow service. The only thing i like is the jam, although we ordered 4 kinds of eggs and the turkish platter. Will never come again and will never recommend it

If you are Turkish or know about ''real'' Turkish food, Yosma is not the right place for you. Prices are overrated, service was very poor even they don't know how to serve Raki! It is hard to call Yosma as a modern Turkish kitchen after I have seen randomly sliced cherry tomatoes are served as a Gavurdag Salad. Would not visit again!

Our visit started very well. We were welcomed with great charm, seated quickly in a lovely table by the window and this was followed with delicious warm bread and some excellent olives. The waiter arrived to take our order and managed to do all 5 of us with no notepad.
The problems began after this as our starters arrived in bits and pieces over about 25 minutes. My husband and daughter-in-law had finished by the time my two sons had theirs and mine didn't arrive correctly until after everyone else had finished. They first of all brought me the wrong item but it was still after everyone else. The restaurant was not busy as we had gone for a pre theatre meal it just seemed that the service was not totally on the ball. We watched other people arrive after us and get their food before us. When we ordered wine we were told that they were virtually out of all Turkish reds but the waiter suggested an alternative which was not on the menu and this was very nice.
The quality of the food varied - my calamari starter was excellent as was the cheesecake for pudding. My son's chicken dish was very tasty but a small portion. My other son's lamb chops were very good too. My husband felt the chicken wings to be rather small and too sweet, though this is probably down to personal taste as he likes things spicy. I had the rump steak which was very disappointing as well as being one of the more expensive dishes on the menu - it was on the chilly side, rather rarer than I had asked for and the flatbread it was served with was underneath everything else and tasted oily and flat.
To add insult to injury, later that evening I had an email from Open table to ask why we hadn't turned up for our booking which I think is another sign that organisationally, there are problems. We were all very much looking forward to the meal and left disappointed.

Sent back Trukish tea as it did not taste well (past optimum brew time) and asked for Turkish coffee instead. Found that the teas were still included in the bill. Asked the waiter why it was the case, he took out money from his pocket and left it on the table! Our issue was not money but courtesy to the customer. And this gesture was very rude and offensive. They need to learn how to make and when to serve (or not to serve) Turkish tea and train their staff properly. Disappointing!

The food was generally very good, except the lamb shank which lacked flavour. The service was very good when we arrived and the restaurant was empty, but was much slower later as the place filled up.

Second time we've eaten here and the food is creative and delicious, albeit a little bit pricey. Ambience is modern, busy and has a good feel to it. Sadly on this visit service was very slow and as we left they explained they had some staff away sick (probably would have been good to explain that to us earlier, before we got frustrated).

Excellent food, great starters, lamb dishes, great kunefe dessert (just try it). Attentive and flexible staff. Nice ambiance, and good selection of rakis. Shows that Turkish cuisine has so much more to offer beyond the well-known doner kebab.

We had an amazing time at Yosma, the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the time we were there. As well as this, they made an effort (without being told) to make my friend’s birthday special by providing dessert on the house and being extremely hospitable.

Food was great and quick and the interior of this restaurant is amazing. The spacious environment also has a cosy feel wth couches for relaxed dining. Definitely recommend!

We had an excellent family dinner here after a long day of traveling. The waiter was excellent in recommending portions and pairings. It was quieter when we went, due to the earlier hour and holiday season, but I could see how the restaurant noise level could get loud. Overall would recommend for great food and a fun night!

Service tends to range from very good to excellent irrespective of how busy the restaurant is. Same with the innovative menu. I call it nouvelle Turkish cuisine. Tastes and good value. Keep up the good work.

I took my husband here as a treat for Christmas as he used to live near Turkey and really missed good Turkish food. We arrived on time and were met by a friendly hostess and seated promptly, in a nice window seat with really comfortable chairs. The interior of this restaurant is stunning - so well designed even down to the menus! There is plenty of space between diners (i really hate restaurants where people are crammed in on top of each other!). The music was upbeat but not invasive and the waiters made a point of asking us if the level was okay for us which not many places do. Our waiter Lence was more than helpful and advised us on portions and the different dishes available. We ordered five dishes that were served as they were ready which i really liked as it gave you time to enjoy each dish. I also had a pisco sour (or two!) which was amazing. The highlight was the kunefe for desert! It was absolutely delicious. We had five dishes two sides two drinks each a coffee and desert to share the bill came to 110£ which i thought to be extremely reasonable given the standard of food the level of service. We will definitely visit here again - hopefully in the not too distant future!
