Jiten and the team were kind and such wonderful hosts. The food was a great blend of classical Indian dishes with just the right amount of a unique twist that did not threaten the roots of the dishes.
We eat at Zaika when we are up in London (usually to attend a theatre show) and also travel up from Reading in the evening just to taste the delights of this superb restaurant. The atmosphere, staff attentiveness and food quality are all brilliant.
Great food, lovely venue and atmosphere
Food is amazing here but it’s a shame that the service is very slow. Waiting for 40 minutes for food to be served on a Tuesday (not busy at all!) is not the way service is done!
It also costs 30 pounds to bring your own cake (which they don’t advertise anywhere!)
The place was absolutely beautiful, however the food was not all that, not worth the price at all!
Despite arriving on time for our booking we had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table.
Also, we had an unpleasant surprise regarding the food options, as only a Valentine's day set menu was offered, so basically there was no chance to choose our courses, as the items on the main menu and the other set menus were not served on the Valentine's day night.
Came in at 21:16 and my table was already given away. I understand the 15 min policy but then to wait for 45 min at the bar. For the rest it was excellent! Will come back for sure
Best Indian food I’ve had in London
Really delicious food in the impressive setting of a former bank - original wood panelling and beautifully carved stone windows still in place. Great cocktails too and friendly, efficient service. It was busy, so a bit on the noisy side, and there was a slight mix up with our coats when we left, but we had a great evening. Particularly loved the lamb biryani dish, beautifully cooked and seasoned, and unusual to see it arrive with a pastry topping
Great place and service, though it took a lot longer than expected, it was a fab evening.
Gorgeous food, great service and a free dessert and 2 glasses of fizz for my birthday which was a lovely surprise. The spicing of the main courses was fantastic and the kulfi was the best I’ve tasted.
The service was impeccable and the surroundings great.
The food wasn’t outstanding but that was probably because we had the theatre menu so not as interesting as it could be if ordering a la carte. It did mean we got to the show on time though.
Booked this place for my boyfriend’s birthday before the show in Royal Albert Hall. Loved the fact that it is within walking distance from Royal Albert Hall and it seemed to have a lovely menu. When we went there on the day and we were both amazed how cosy and gorgeous this place was. Extremely helpful waiters provide an amazing unforgettable experience, they really make you feel special. Once again beautiful atmosphere and would definitely come back again!
An evening well spent. Thanks for the hospitality...
The food was fantastic and our waiter was very friendly. The only issue was the hostess that greeted us was rather unfriendly and one waiter who came to clear our table was rather unprofessional. Other than that, the food was very delicious and the ambience was fantastic.
Great atmosphere with amazing food. Perfect sized portions as well. Will definitely visit if ever in London again.
Always a refined and enjoyable experience. Menu is somewhat limited but well worth the visit
Perfect for a get together with friends for a special occasion
We really enjoyed our experience, great food, lovely staff & beautiful setting.
It's a beautiful building and the service was excellent. The food was well seasoned but it also luke warm. The lamb in the entree was over-cooked (tough). Several dishes didn't look or taste like food cooked to order. More like food that had been re-heated, and not well enough. The naan bread was very good (definitely fresh).
Conveniently located, friendly atmosphere, food pretty average but pricy.
Really good indian food , nice location , recommended
The best indian food I have ever had.
Great food, staff, service.
The restaurant has a unique atmosphere.
Attended Zaika for dinner on Thursday 2nd January and ended up with a stomach virus. The food arrived really quickly after ordering, which makes me believe food was recycled from. Unacceptable considering how expensive the restaurant is. Will not be attending again.
Really great food. Piping hot and very tasty. Served quickly. We were in and out in under 20mins so requested no service surcharge which was 12gbp on an 80 gbp meal for two. Two curry two nan one rice one starter and 3 bottle beer. Waitress was quite upset and said wasn’t her fault we only stayed 20 mins. Not quite the point. Later apologized
New Year’s Eve dinner was lovely. Great food and atmosphere.
Food was great however I keep getting seated in and around the kitchen which isn’t the best place to be eating in this restaurant, due to heavy staff traffic and used glassware left around the bar..
This year there was no special new years eve menu and the regual menu is limited and uninspiring and expensive. Simple things like no popodoms and only chicken tikka masala and prawn or lamb curry nothing special or interesting and all much more expensive than in a local curry house. The restaurant has good service and is always buzzing but it attracts a noisy crowd and we will not go there again for a special occasion and we had been 3 times before.
we were in and out in an hour and it was New Years Eve!! No interesting starters or desserts so a main course that had clearly not been made fresh and we were out
I first went to Zaika in 2004. Now again in 2019. It is my favorite restaurant ever. Wonderful food and great service. I was worried because it had been 15 years but it was as good as I remember.
Always happy to come here. Best Indian food in London for me, quality curries with fine ingredients used. Wonderful customer service as always, a big factor to keep coming back :) very attentive, smiley and welcoming. Along with going out their way to make the night special; birthday dessert or a glass on the house. Thank you!
Everything was great.
We came here for a family meal with my little children. The food was fabulous and the waiters were very attentive , prompt and very helpful. We enjoyed every minute of our meal which was the taster menu, lovely setting and decor
First class Indian cuisine. My wife and I come from Leicester which has many Indian restaurants but none compare to Zaika or come anywhere close.
Booked in for my fiancé’s birthday and the food and service was amazing! Really nice staff and place. Would definitely go again when next in London.
Food was ok not as before
Absolutely brilliant! The food was the best Indian food I have had and the staff were the best!
Excellent food, perfect service and pleasing colonial atmosphere.
The service was excellent and the ambiance is lovely. My dish of aubergine with potatoes was delicious. My friend would have liked the okra to be cooked a little more.
From the moment you step inside your feast begins. What a gorgeous building this is. Staff were attentive during our visit, the menu is not vast which makes a nice change but the food is really good. Not of it was heavy as some places can be. Each dish had depth and layers of flavour, really enjoyed all of them. They also are able to adjust some dishes if you prefer more or less spice. Overall a lovely experience.
Awesome food and service, in a beautiful building.
