Zama Punjabi Restaurant
Had a lovely evening. The food was excellent as was the service.
Excellent quality food with a wide choice on the menu. Prompt and friendly service served in a comfortable clean environment that overall made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely revisit and recommend to others.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, the house white wine was particularly impressive for a house!! We'll definitely be back for more delicious food
Superb food, excellent service and a very nicely designed space. The Green thali was delicious.
Waiting too long for the food. But when it arrived it was delightful
Service was extremely slow, we were sat down but not given and menus. Drinks and starters quite slow to arrive, main course we waited ages. We were not the only diners to experience this, others had wrong glasses too (i.e. Not suitable for the wine).
Great food great service will return soon would recommend to friends and family
Lovely experience great food
Our second visit and will come again
Fabulous!! Delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere
We had a lovely evening at Zama! Food was gorgeous & the staff were super lovely. We’ll be back.
Service was fantastic as was the food! This is the first truly authentic Punjabi restaurant in Brighton which has met many curry lovers expectations! We were served by a lovely lady, I believe her name was Emily.
My second time in Zama and I would definitely go back for a third time. The food is really authentic and delicious. I am in love with the paneer and samosa. They also have a really nice, well priced Mocktail list - perfect for mid-week!
My only fault is that the noise level is quite high, potentially fixable with some wall hangings or drapes.
This is a superb new addition on Church Road.
Food is exceptional.
Expensive for what is served up, poppadoms from a crisp packet - possibly M&S looks like no cooking happens on premises except use of microwave and poor service.
Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time with us. Would you be happy to share more details on your visit? Please send your email to email@example.com with more information on the date and time of dining so we can investigate. Thank you The Team @Zama
Waited 45 minutes for starter which we had to remind staff about. Lukewarm when it eventually arrived. Thali was nice though. Good house wine
Sorry to hear your starter was a bit slow but glad you enjoyed your meal generally - we hope to see you again soon!
Very relaxed dining experience. Friendly staff. Samosas were absolutely delicious and a great sized portion. House wine nice but at £20 a bottle a little pricey. Main meal of the meat Thali was really nice. Certainly would visit again.
So glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us - we hope to see you again soon!
Second time I e been since it opened and it seems to be doing really well. A lot more tables now. Food was delicious. Really friendly service as previously.
Thank you for your great review - see you again soon!
Delicious food in stylish surroundings. Service good.
Thank you for your great review - we hope to see you again soon!
Great restaurant - absolutely delicious food with lots of choice. Great, friendly service and really lovely ambience, for groups or couples - would highly recommend.
Amazing food and service, loved the different types of veggie dishes.
The food was delicious and the service was faultless. Good vegan options. We will definitely be back soon.
Authentic and varied menu, lots of vegetarian options. The best tandoori lamb outside of London!
Great food and service, everything was prefect and so was the red wine
Waited 1 hour and then the food came and it was very poor
Lovely people, scrumptious food and ambiance was fab , would definitely go again
The food was great, with lots of flavour. The service was good, staff very caring and constantly available, making sure that you was enjoying your experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you like Punjabi cuisine, like myself.
Excellent food. Our first visit and a definite one to return.....
Delicious Punjabi food with a nod to non traditional ingredients like avocado and samphire. We ordered a mix of vegetarian and meat thalis and thoroughly enjoyed the selection of dishes. Desert was ice cream from Boho Gelato (proudly made in Newhaven - super local!) Service was mostly prompt, and generally friendly, professional and helpful. Modern decor and nice ambience, good for groups as well as a more intimate dinner - we were three friends.
We will be regular customers. Great stsff food and atmosphere
My wife and I went on a Friday evening and the restaurant was very busy. Service was friendly and efficient and we were impressed by the menu choices which were quite different to regular curry houses. We both agreed that the food was very good and food and drink prices were reasonable. But we weren't too happy with the noise level: with wooden floors and hard surfaces throughout, it was quite loud and not easy to talk. We will probably choose a different night of the week next time. Otherwise, pretty good.
Nice setting and very good service. The food however was a bit too bland for my liking. Being Asian and dining out in this type of restaurant I expected more in terms of taste and spice, which disappointingly wasn’t there.
Little cold inside for my liking - felt like no hearing on brrrr
Fairly quiet Tuesday evening. Staff plentiful, friendly and helpful. Gorgeous food. Only one small comment which we did feed back at the time: cold plates and food could have been a little hotter. It didn’t spoil the evening though and we’d definitely go again.
Authentic Punjabi food and not a traditional Indian restaurant. Original concept but requires waiting staff who know the food and it's makeup. Great place to eat.
Very friendly And attentive staff, gave us a nice double set of tables, didn’t feel rushed at all, would go back again.
Punjabi cuisine is distinct, the menu gave no indication of this. (Fish Massala very famous in Punjab the exception) The usual tired suspects tikka, kebab, various curries with evasive descriptions, rich tomato gravy, eastern spices, warm spices etc. Sauces tasted the same, shahi lamb, Zara chicken curry interchangeable. Plain naan cold and chewy, rice dry and flavourless. I could go on. Look, bang the drum for Punjabi cuisine, drastically reduce the menu. Cut out the microwaves. And if you charge 12.5% make sure the food arrives on time. Across the road are two very average Indian/Bangladeshi joints, you have apparently joined them. A pity.
Nice food but service was erractic and slow.
Tasty food. Was expecting a little higher quality overall based on reviews. But good value for money.
Great food, we had the Thali which was lovely as you got to try lots of different things - good for first time at a restaurant. We also had the soft shell crab starter which was expensive but really good. Good choice of wine and beer - the manager was very knowledgeable on this. Service was great, if anything they were a little too prompt with checking how the food was but better than not at all. Feels like we have a Chilli Pickle in Hove now. (Couldn't add a photo as it chops off the bottom of the screen and can't submit review).
