Great restaurant. Food was outstanding and staff very friendly. Will be back for sure.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, although the service was a little disjointed.
The starters were excellent, but I was disappointed with my main course, my lamb kebab arrived cold, but this was replaced straight away and the waitress was very apologetic. The second kebab had a lot more chilli so I couldn't tolerate eating much of it, even coated in riata.
I ordered masala fries, expecting them to be thin, but they were basically chunky chips which, if I'd have known, I wouldn't have ordered. I also asked if I could have a garlic and cheese naan, but only got garlic.
My two companions weren't over enamoured with their starters but enjoyed the mains of curry.
The décor is nice, but the acoustics of the restaurant makes everyones chitter chatter incredibly loud and it spoiled the atmosphere for us.
Overall a great place if you like your food chilli hot and don't mind it being noisy. I would recommend Zama to someone with these provisos.
Fantastic restaurant highly recommended. Excellent produce & exceptional flavours
What flavours and choice! Loved the food and was happy to see a good amount of veggie and a few vegan options. Staff were very friendly. We had a nice surprise at the end with £20 off our bill, as they had extended the Eat our to help our scheme in their restaurant. Will definitely be back.
A lovely new experience, I will be back with friends and family. Thanks
Lovely food (our 3rd visit in a month) in as decent atmosphere possible nowadays. Never disappoints.
Amazing fresh non greasy food 😍
Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and staff were very friendly, would definitely dine there again 👌🏽
Tasty food, good ambiance, friendly staff, nice drinks
There's no where else in Brighton or Hove that we would recommend more. Zama's food is always outstanding, worth the money and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Can’t wait to return again soon!
It’s a very nice restaurant, the food is amazing, definitely recommend, however it is a bit expensive without the eat out to help out
Food as always was excellent, however this time around the service was much better than the last time I visited. Friendly, helpful and polite - ambiance felt more robust, professional and effortless. Would now recommend to friends. I do think it’s time to take that passive aggressive sign above the door down - that’s not professional at all. Still, the best Punjabi food in the area!
Always tasty food here with friendly service. Curries tend towards the hot end which is fine by me. Tried their Peshwari naan this time and will certainly order again. My favourite is the chicken Zama but it’s all good. My favourite place for an Indian experience.
Easy to book. Food good & plentiful. Too many tables to be distanced. Sat near store cupboard which was really distracting & left open ( for ventilation?), but at least less tables at the back. Drinks came in stages, had to ask for poppadoms as they took so long. Waiting staff lovely, decs good. Quite pricey despite 50% reduction.
Lovely food as always. Excellent service. Very slightly overpriced but always enjoy eating there regardless
It was so lovely, we had never been there before so didn’t really know what to order. The popadoms were so little and therefore we got so many they were so nice and cute! I got the spicy chicken curry and dad got a prawn curry. With a side of pea rice and garlic naan. All so lovely but we sat there admiring the people next to us with a mixed grill! We have already booked for next week! Highly recommend!!!
An air of everyone working hard to creat a great, safe experience. Friendly helpful staff. Only marked the food down a star because there were quite a few things unavailable due to their popularity during the “ eat out to help out offer”. All the food we did have was fab,( grill got 2 was great).
Great food and lovely staff - a few shortages on the food and drinks menu which was a shame as my favourite dish was one of them. Perhaps gives me all the more reason to return!
I have been to Zama a few times now with different friends each time, and we always enjoy the food.
Great service and beautiful food. Highly recommend.
Nice food very well presented and colourful. Mock tails very tasty
Amazing food- best nan bread we have ever had! The girls were lovely - a little rushed off their feet due to minimum staff but were so attentive and helpful. I recommend trying the small plates!
Good food, service and value for money, would recommend!
Seating well spread out for social distancing, temperature taken on entry and hand sanitizer. Staff friendly. Food was amazing. A lovely evening will definitely go again.
Tasty indian food and great service. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. It was not noisy in any way where we were seated. We also had fresh air coming in by the back door which was open, so thankful for that because of the recent long spell of humidity. Great restaurant.
Good spicy Indian food. Good portions and really friendly staff.
First time and was very impressed. The service, first impression was excellent.
The quality of food was high, very tasty and delicious.
My only reason for not giving 5 stars was due to the naan basket only having 2 types of naan which was disappointing as was expecting an actual selection. If I had known this I would have just chosen 2 different naan breads.
Otherwise a brilliant experience!
Fantastic food and service!! And what a treat that the government 50% off food was running into the weekend also
Second time visiting and the food was even better, great vegan curries as well. lovely service too. They even gave us half price on some items as part of the eat out to help out scheme, even though it was a Friday. Quickly becoming my favourite Indian restaurant in Hove!
Such lovely food! And as always friendly and efficient service. So nice to come back and enjoy!!
Beautiful fro and fantastic service. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
I was here a year ago and the food was tasty and flavoured/spicy.
On Wednesday I felt it was bland food and tasted mediocre.
In my opinion it didnt taste authentic in any way which is such a shame.
Fish curry was salty
Lamb Rogan Josh was okay.
Basket of Naan was dry!
popudams were weird.
Great place for very flavorful Indian food. Authentic and original menu items.
Overall a good change from the norm.
Great food, lovely staff and fairly priced. Will definitely go again!
Lovely authentic Indian food.. Loved every bite of it, highly recommend
Felt like confused street food, either serve consistent street food or in a traditional way. Takeaway style tables didn’t add to a very good atmosphere. Along side loud music. Service was lovely though and food was very average for the price.
A lunchtime meal during relaxed lockdown times was a real treat. The service was great, the food delicious as usual, the atmosphere a little odd (lunchtime and lockdown are not ideal times). The prices are higher than many other Indian restaurants but one gets one pays for. Highly recommend the Biryanis!
Really nice decor and ambiance. Food tasted great and staff were friendly and attentive. :)
The food was very good but there was no atmosphere in the restaurant. The door was wide open to the street, not many were in the restaurant and the starters and mains were all served at the same time. We ate our food and left and didn’t feel comfortable staying longer than that. We were done in an hour.
