The waitress was so nice and accommodating and the food was really good! Will definitely go again good value for money!
Very average food and service and ambience.
Nothing exceptional to recommend. The person who took our order was not very accommodating and didn’t really understand what we tried to explain as we had to send the papaya salad back, way too spicy and otherwise dry and no other flavour other than chilliest.
Food was exceptional, had to ask the lady behind the bar for our table booking before we were seated, service was poor and I didn’t like where we were seated. They added the service charge without even asking....
Visited on a Friday, can’t really find fault with anything except the service.
Service was let down by a couple of little points that could easily be addressed with a little more training. The waiter got the drinks order wrong, and when bringing the wine over, just poured the wine without checking it was the right one, not offering a taster.
Overall very good and we will got back
Staff couldn't do enough for you and the food was the best Thai food I've ever had in this country! Can't recommend this place enough.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Lovely food and staff are very attentive. Really looked after us even though they were very busy. Will definitely return x
Food was so spicy that wasn’t even edible! We complained and only a salad was replaced which was still very chilli but edible. Mains were only slightly better only as we kept on telling the waiter no chilli should be added. Value for money it wasn’t worth the amount we spent and way too expensive for what we got!
Had a business meeting with two potential clients . Great venue food was fantastic and friendly professional service . The booths in the bar are good for discussions . Would recommend to anyone
Favourite place to eat in Birmingham. Food always excellent . Staff very attentive . Lovely night out always had . Have recommended it to family and friends who have had the same experience.
Extremely large portions so should be advised it could be for sharing as a lot of the food went to waste. The spice of my tofu new stir fry was in a tomato pasta sauce which was extremely spicy and this could be improved. There’s a separate gin menu so you’d expect them to know how to put one together. However this was not the case and I had to ask for additional ingredients to be added. Our plates were being picked up whilst other people were eating on the table. I will not be going again as I did not enjoy the experience
We have an excellent meal, cocktails and the service was excellent
Nice tasty food
Shame about the toilets, let’s the standard of the restaurant down, they don’t match.
Fabulous place with excrptional staff, food and ambience. Highly recommended.Went for my daughters Birthday...really lovely night
This is a nice place and the staff are friendly and generally attentive but lack a bit in training. The food was generally very average with none of the dishes making me say "that's just like what you get in Thailand" which is the mark of a good, simple Thai restaurant. The Beef salad was bland.. some nice fresh salad but it lacked the zing, spiciness and freshness of a Thai salad. I ordered 2 other starters one chicken and one prawn served in hot spicy sauce. Both dishes were, apart from the meat, identical.. IE cooked in exactly the same sauce. Why didn't the server tell me that? Surely an obvious thing to point out IMO. The sauce was nice if a little heavy. The main courses were the Beef Massaman and Red Chicken Curry. Both were over-sweetened.. why can't Birmingham restaurants trust the fact their guests know what they are eating? I do not need over sweetened food because of some assumption that I can't handle the true spiciness of a traditionally cooked Thai curry. It's patronising, and worse, it tastes way, way inferior to original Thai food. Overall disappointing as I expected more from what looks like a nice, smart restaurant that seems to try hard but has lost it's Thai sense of direction somewhere.
High end Thai food. You can get Thai cheaper but you take your chances. Here your guaranteed excellent quality and flavour. Add to that great service and a really relaxed atmosphere. This place is a must!
Nice food and atmosphere. Extremely polite and helpful staff. The level of noise, though, can be really annoying
I visited zen Metro for a graduation meal and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I especially loved the Wok Noodles. The prices weren't too expensive and they have two for one on cocktails. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the servers are very friendly and polite. I would definitely come here again.
Great experience. Went for lunch and having high expectations was not let down. Thank you.
Fabulous food, excellent service even down to our waitress offered to get our other two guess glasses as they had forgotten there’s .
A beautiful restaurant, fantastic food and drinks! The service was also particularly good. Would highly recommend. We will be back soon
Disappointed with the food as was just average in relation to other restaurants. Not value for money and I was charged a service charge for just 2 people. Overall disappointed and the restaurant was lacking something which we could not fathom out. However the waitress was very good and would have tipped her if it were not for the service charge
It was a nice setting and I couldn’t fault the service of our waitress. I had a nice starter however my BF’s starter had no flavour, just spice. For main we both had the chicken with cashew nuts, however we both felt it was very bland and definitely not worth the money. The prices were closer to restaurants with a higher level of food, therefore wasn’t happy with paying the prices I did. I think working on stronger flavours would be my recommendation.
The food and ambience was perfect. I will be going there again
Wonderful meal. Gluten free menu very much appreciated, and staff willing to check suitability. Great service and lovely ambiance.
Menu, ambience and service - has it all!
Great table great food great service!
Excellent venue. Really good lunch which was very reasonable. Good service. Will definitely go back soon.
Lovely environment, Delicious food. Helpful and welcoming staff
Had the best time at Zen for the first time and will not be the last! The staff were amazing and the food was gorgeous, I even took my left overs home! I will definitely be going again soon x
Wonderful food - the wok chicken is a must. Not cheap but worth it!
I visited Zen metro on for the first time on my birthday. The food was amazing the restaurant is beautiful and the staff were lovely and made sure myself and my partner were attended too at all times. I had a great birthday and I will definitely be coming back.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service , the waitress were attentive and friendly
Highly recommend this restaurant for best east Asian food in Birmingham
The food was absolutely wonderful, catered to my spice level on certain dishes and the portion sizes are good value for money. Friendly service with a smile. For the time of evening it would have been nicer for the restaurant to be a tad darker to give it more of an ambiance.
Great Thai food and smart environment. Would definitely go again
Amazing food, amazing staff. Overall amazing experience. Will definitely be back and will definitely recommend!
Zen Metro offered arguably the best Thai dining experience I’ve ever had. Having recently reflected in my experience at Wildwood restaurant, a mature branded chain. It was surprising to see an Independent like Zen offer everything and and more.
Zen contains an impressively lit restaurant area which is well hidden within. The centrepiece is a beautiful tree, an idea many other restaurants close by have copied.
Service is warm, smily and caring. It is quick to boot. I loved the food, it had a sense of occasion, which I love when I dine on the evenings in Birmingham city centre.
The presentation of each dish was what really impressed me. The spicy punctuations were somewhat overwhelming, but the other flavours such as coriander and satay came through to add balance.
