Fish was amazing
sat at our table for 25 minutes then walked out after no one came to even ask if we wanted a drink let alone take our order, not going back
Love this place, great drinks, great sushi, great service!
Would try again. Noisy but in a lively way. Service slow and as the evening and crowds came in, got slower. They need more servers. We got a lot of food and no complaints.
I’d heard lots of talk about Zeppelin and decided to try it out for a Thu night dinner with friends. It did not disappoint. Zeppelin is a bit pricey but worth it in terms of quality and service. We ordered & shared a variety of dishes which were all very good. It did get a bit loud as the night progressed (so I might ask to be seated on the first floor next time) but good vibes nonetheless.
Not sure why loud dance music was the choice for a chill Wed night at the Zeppelin. Probably a better spot for a weekend evening with friends.
The rolls were good but the fish in the chirashi — which is essentially a variety of sashimi in a bed of sushi rice — was not very fresh. It was not the melt-in-your-mouth kind. It was more like chalky disintegrated pieces of fish on top of the rice. We will likely not order that bowl again; but may reconsider dining there again for the sushi rolls.
First time here. Fabulous food, service and ambience in upstairs dining room that became a fun karaoke room after 20:30 pm. Got to introduce my Japanese friend to the chef, who greeted us like good friends. Both are from Osaka. Also, it was Tuesday, which is half-price sake night, and the selection is enormous. Okonomiyaki and sashimi were both as good as it gets.
Charlie was amazing. Thank you for such great service. I'll request him always when reserving a table now.
Great food great service great atmosphere
Phenomenal meal and service was beyond excellent. Solid value as we did the $80 omakase and got a good amount of real high quality sushi. Highly recommend and will definitely be back regularly.
Food and vibe were so good. Our waiter s
The food is very good. Expensive, but definitely a cut above cheaper sushi.
But the service was awful. We saw no sign of our waiter for an hour after getting our appetizer. Eventually we got their attention and they started apologizing and bringing us free drinks, but by the time we got our food it had been over two hours since we sat down. They did knock 20% off the check, but that wasn't nearly enough for me to recommend it after the experience we had.
Still, it is good sushi.
Best sushi in DC! Hands down!!
Overall, a great restaurant with great service. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The food was really good. I would not suggest this restaurant for an intimate date, as it got pretty loud and hard to have a discussion, but it was overall a great time. I would recommend this restaurant off the strength of the food and the staff.
Tables were TINY.
This place is so fun! We came for our valentines late dinner (10pm)
the food was delicious, the sushi was so fresh and light! the drinks were good and the best part was the karaoke that starts at 10:30pm!
The way the tables are set up, it makes a super fun runway singing dancing feel! you interact with the tables next to you while singing and drinking! It was a super fun night, we stayed till 2:30am just drinking and dancing with our table neighbors from Nashville!
Really fun place to bring a group of friends for an unexpected experience!
Everything was great. The food was just ok. Not too much flavor kind of bland. I’d give it another shot, but not too impressed
Great food and atmosphere, very busy so service was understandably a little slow but they did everything they could to accomodate us
Very good sushi!
Carlos is a very pleasant and attentive bartender. I love his attention to detail.
The food was great and reasonably priced. But the music was way too loud which made it hard to have conversation with people at the same table, and they ran out of forks so we had to eat pancake type food with chopsticks and a knife.
The server was amazing. The drinks were really good and it's conveniently located.
Great service at the bar....the fellas are amazing!
Horrible Service and rude staff
Long awaited dining experience did not live up to high set expectations and impression/experiences of stellar sister restaurant, Chaplins.
Pros: Owner Ari very graciously upped our party by +1 person (had 5 folks, allowed 6 when we called ahead to request). Drinks are excellent. Story of the mural outside warms your heart. Aesthetics and design are beautiful.
Cons: Food was fine - sushi was decent, some of non-sushi dishes over sauced/under cooked. Service was hurried although no party was sat after us. Trendy ambiance marred by high pitched birthday party attendees. Bathroom was not clean; second was locked.
If you like sushi and a drink, go to the bar and enjoy, that would be a perfect occasion. I would not wait 1+ week for prime time reservation again or dine with non-sushi eaters.
Great sushi and drinks !
Music was too loud and the beer menu quite poor
Amazing dinner. Just delicious. The sushi and maki was incredible. Highly recommended
A great find in the neighborhood. Could get a bit loud, but not overwhelmingly so. Food is fantastic.
Good food and friendly staff.
So-so food and way too loud. Nice design though. I'd come for happy hour.
Sushi/Sashimi was terrible.
Service was great, food was great, the upstairs is incredibly loud. At 8:30 they started blasting music, which meant we were nearly screaming to be heard by our table mates.
Amazing food. Great service. Perfect birthday date spot!
Food was delicious, enjoyed the yakatori and some sushi plus a fabulous whiskey cocktail. Only downside is that we were sat at a very small table in the bar area (with a reservation) and the table was not large enough to fit our food and drinks. We had to take over a nearby (luckily) empty table, just to fit the food we ordered. Would suggest specifically asking for a dining table if you plan on doing more than 1 small plate and drinks.
One of the rolls was not good and the bathroom was disgusting. Drinks were also not creative and the simple cocktail that I asked for wasn’t good. Hostess also had a bit of an attitude. Never going back
One of my sushi loving friends was in DC for a visit so we tried Zeppelin and really enjoyed it. Our server was great and in a twist had to leave for an emergency, but the backup service was there really quickly and did a great job. Kudos to Zeppelin and the servers for being honest. Food was great - edamame is, you know, edamame but it was good. Nice, rich miso soup. Neither of us was starving so we just shared a couple of rolls - the Chesapeake and spicy scallops. Both of them were delicious and loaded with crab (Chesapeake) and scallops. The restaurant is really welcoming and it was just a wonderful experience. They even offered us a place to sit and wait for a cab so we didn't have to wait outside. I am definitely going back.
