ZIMA Russian Restaurant
Treat yourself to the best priced caviar in London alongside the favourites of Russian cuisine, welcoming atmosphere and sip on our homemade selection of infused vodka.
Zima’s seasonal menu draws inspiration in flavour and culture from our adventures and travelling across all regions of Russia.
Enjoy our signature dishes such as pirozhki (baked buns), pelmeni (dumplings) and seasonal specials alongside our selection of home infused vodka nastoikas.
In our three storey townhouse we also run our own Zima Picklery, where we ferment all our seasonal vegetables, fruit, and drinks.
A fine selection of world wines, craft beers and signature cocktails are also being poured at the restaurant and bar.
ZIMA. Escape from the ordinary!
This review is based on just my last experience.
There was only one waiter, which meant that we were waiting for about an hour for the food who h then became cold.
The waiter was trying so hard to get everything done, the food was still great and I would still recommend going, just hopefully they one person serve everyone again.
This was the third time of visiting and it lived up to my expectations. As I had booked it for five people of which four had never been before, great that everybody loved the place.
Very good representation of the Russian food. Delicious and beautifully presented. A bit expensive though.
It’s was nice good food sprayer form everything came lukewarm not hot
I took my husband to Zima for his birthday and also because we are visiting Russia this year. I thought the atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent and it was nicely done out. The service was laid back and efficient at the same time which i like. The food was very good but not outstanding but the Russian Salad starter was delicious.
Good beers, wine and obviously vodka. I would definitely go again.
Russian food is meant to be hearty but the portions at this restaurant were way too small! Tiny even. They are trying to be chic but instead it looks a bit stingy. We didn’t mind ordering 2 mains plates and a starter and a dessert (you’ll only be full if you order that much) but there just wasn’t enough of each dish. The dessert crepes were the perfectly thin ones they’re meant to be but there were only 3 of them and being half a crepe each, it was like serving 1.5 small crepes. Even the vareniki were too small. It was disappointing because the food was nice in itself. Don’t go there if you actually like eating and being full, because you won’t be when you leave.
Unfortunately the ambiente felt a bit cold. The food was average and could be done better. Not great value for money.
Awesome food, great service, absolutely will go back!
Very interesting atmosphere with a very traditional props around the dinning rooms. Felt like a true Russian vibe, as if you know everyone in the room. Felt like home. Waiters were very attentive. Food tasted like childhood. Very happy overall. My partner loved it to. Very good place to introduce someone to Russian cuisine. Also so in love with Sex in Siberia. Thank you, Zima!
Taste of home. Food was incredible. However service could be better and polite. Overall totally recommend
Very nice, authentic, home-like Russian restaurant. Feels like visiting babushka!
Great food the other night, with a nice selection of modern Russian delights to choose from. Nice ambience, and I fully intend to return again to try some more of the sharing stuff.
Ordered countless times to my office (via Deliveroo), but first time in the actual restaurant.
It was a good surprise for me (being a Russian -born and spoilt by my mum' and nan's cooking in my childhood years in St-Petersburg...) . Brought my British work colleagues who really enjoyed it.
Especially, I liked the pirojkis and beef Stroganoff. The dishes were quite well presented.
Not at all overpriced for Soho.
It was a lunch time and the restaurant was very busy (groups of people), we had to wait for some time until the waiter became available to take our order, but after that the service was very good.
We had a team early dinner, so it was quieter than our previous 7-pm meal. Delicious plate of shared appetizers, mushroom julienne and draniki, next time I plan to try sturgeon - it looked very good on my colleagues’ plates!
Very nice staff, lovely food and good atmosphere. Staff made great recommendations also!
Great russian restaurant in the heart of Soho. Beautiful terrace with a simple interior reminiscent of Kandinsky and Malevich style, with russian memorabilia all around the place. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Food is very authentic, and gives a wonderful glimpse into traditional russian cuisine!
The dishes are similar to Russian kitchen but have nothing to do with that.
This is the second time I have been here and it was just as superb as it was the first time. Everything was excellent about the visit.
Food and service is excellent. At lunchtime it has a 'bistro style' feel possibly just because no tablecloths. It's a small point but a pity because it takes away the feel of a top class restaurant - which it deserves.
Borscht was really good, other meals were quite mediocre. Also I don't like the music in this restaurant. Russian rock isn't suitable to the whole atmosphere.
Great service, food is excellent, nice people. Definitely best russian resto in London! Highly recommended!
Food was excellent and the waitress was very knowledgable and helpful. The atmosphere was very good.
Great place, delicious food. Lovely staff. Highly recommend. Just one thing - was a bit noisy, but that's quite normal for Saturday night I believe. Thank you Zima, will definitely come to you again!
Very expensive for what you got.felt very rushed.main course arrived before had chance to eat the starter.which was taken away .I'm sure you can find better
Great, homey food and we had the best waiter who was fun and super friendly, We went on Tuesday night, please find out who looked after us as he was honestly amazing and made the night super fun , I would love for him to get some appraisal from your side!
Visited for a birthday meal and had a wonderful time. This was our first time at this restaurant and first time sampling Russian food and drink. Tried various flavoured Vodkas, all superb, even the horseradish variety. Would definitely go back next time in London and recommend it asked.
Fantastic Russian food with great service! Great value for the price. Nastoyka was off the chain. Will definitely be coming back
Very nice place, the staff is always very welcoming. Food is nice although, even though the stuff they have is nice, I feel like the options offered are quite limited and they could have offered more. The desserts were nice but not 10/10 so that could be the area of improvement.
I was slightly disappointed with the shot set for 2 people as you could not choose flavours so one of the shots wasn't sweet at all, and if you are not into having nastoika which is very bitter, then that might be bad experience for foreigner who doesn't know what "hrenovaja" nastoika is. So in my opinion that defibitely has to be changed to free choice of flavours as we ended up enjoying only 3 our of 5 flavours. But overall I always enjoy going there.
Ambience and waiters make the experience really good
Great restaurant with a very good menu to please any palate! Very good service, friendly professional staff. We had a great dinner and loved it! The stuffed cabbage were a winner along with the fermented veggies, beef stragonoff, dumplings... yummy stuff! Highly recommend it!
Great food, great service, great ambience. Will definitely return and definitely recommend
Everything great except the unfriendly second waiter.
It was my B’day and everything was amazing. Staff was brilliant and food was lovely. It was my second time there and definitely will come back !!!
Excellent dumplings, both savoury and sweet (had the cherry dumplings for dessert, just amazing). Really recommend the gooseberry vodka too. Friendly service. Cozy and stylish 😍
We had a wonderful meal at zima, the staff were so friendly and we really enjoyed trying all the different Russian dishes and cocktails!
It’s one of my fave place!
Food was sooooo delicious, from starter to dessert.
Everything was FAB.
Cannot wait to go there next time!!
Pleasant dining experience. My Russian wife thought the Palmeni wasn't up to the standard of her own but hey ho the rest of us really enjoyed the meal. They were kind enough to remove her Palmeni off the bill. Everything else was great. Nice people, very attentive.
Service was excellent, accommodating and knowledgable with just the right amount of banter. I consider myself a pickle expert and these were some of the best I've ever had, the rest of the food flavoursome. The portions were fair, not stingy but not monstrous. The vodka range was impressive and slipped down a little too easily. The decor was tasteful not tacky and the music was background, meaning we could easily hear ourselves talk which sadly these days seems to be an exception. Highly recommend this little gem.
Had lunch with my friend. We keep coming back to this place. The food is amazing, brilliant service and good drinks.
