Located right near the Millenium Centre and on Cardiff Bay itself our second Cardiff restaurant is a great place to sit back and relax. Our designer, Tobias Hall, pulled inspiration from surrounding nature and has created a rather tranquil vibe in the restaurant. The blue and green colour theme represent the theme of the rivers Ely and Taff, and the green the valleys respectively. And the Wader Birds that are native to the area form the inspiration for the illustrations on the wall. Our Italian restaurant serves tasty, authentic dishes from pizza, pasta and risotto to salads and indulgent desserts – all in a uniquely designed restaurant. Our Italian menu also includes Vegan and Vegetarian options. We are open Monday – Sunday for lunch and dinner. Dine al fresco with an outdoor dining area for sunny weather at our Cardiff Mermaid Quay restaurant. Plus tweet what you eat with free WiFi available here (if you're in to that).

We were looking for somewhere near the Millennium Centre for a quick meal before the opera, so Italian seemed apt.
The restaurant is large and airy, and in the early evening is popular with young families.
Being conscious of our tight timings, we opted for pasta and warned our waitress that we needed to eat quickly.
Our meals — pasta della casa and crab cannelloni arrived swiftly — and both hit the mark. The house pasta, oven-baked casareccia pasta, roasted chicken, pancetta, baby spinach & riserva cheese, in a creamy sauce was rich and substantial. The cannelloni proved a lighter option, but equally tasty.
Zizzi is not fine dining, but it's absolutely fine for a quick bite or casual meal. This particular one boasts stunning views across Cardiff Bay and the short walk from the Millennium Centre makes it perfect for a pre-show meal.

First, when we arrived, they told us that they aren't notified of bookings by open table so the booking was a waste of time. Throughout the evening, the staff could be seen chatting, drinking, wandering around with their noses in the air so they couldn't see customers and nipping out the back. Occasionally, they would deign to appear at the table and see if you were ready for your next long wait. The food came out in dribs and drabs and we gave up waiting for them to take dessert orders and left.

Nice meal with friends in a lovely waterfront setting. Service from the waiter who took our order and waitress who took drinks order was friendly and efficient but greeting on arrival was poor as I was told they could not find my booking. When I said I had booked through Opentable he seemed displeased and said bookings often didn't come through but we were just lucky he had a table free! Not a good start but once we were seated we had good service and a good meal.

Really basic. Cocktails were not nice and presented really poorly. Food tasted like they were ready meals warmed up. Never will go again. Prezzo is so much nicer.
