We were a group of colleagues. Top quality ingredients, well executed innovative dishes. Would recommend. Nice location.
Lovely food and service - and great music!
Great food, very nice decor & ambiance. Great addition to the area. Portions are generous but the service was a bit uneven, but well intended. Will return!
Excellent restaurant . I will visit it again without any doubt.
Wednesday cool live music. Best peruvian in London. Lovely friendly atmosphere and perfect service!!
Good time with colleagues. Meat was amazing. Cool environment and music. We appreciated both down stairs with fine dining (lower music) and up stairs with lounge&bar atmosphere (louder music).
The bartenders were very friendly & wanted to make sure I enjoyed my cocktail ... he offered to add more bourbon if I wasn’t satisfied.
We order a few smaller plates to share. The winners were the green mango salad and the chimichurri octopus.
One complaint: the volume of the music made it difficult to hear the server & had to speak louder to have a conversation.
Business dinner. I loved the trilogy snd the fish. Fresh and very delicate. The Malbec was the best we ever had. we are funs of Malbec.
Very promising place
Delighted to have this great new Peruvian restaurant in my neighbourhood! The salmon tacos and grilled octopus were delicious! I love the decor and they had great music playing as well.
We ate at Zuaya for our last night in London, after theater. It was a short trip from Victoria to Kensington High Street after “Hamilton”. It is a small, but cozy restaurant off the main street.
We had lovely service and delicious meals here, especially liking the lamb tacos, and the octopus. The tuna tartare chifere was a disappointment however. The Duck Norteño (stew) was delicious. We skipped dessert, because we were full. Our only disappointment was that the selection of ceviches and tiraditos were limited, with only one containing fish.
Our bill came to approximately £65 a person with tip and wine.
Great food. We went downstairs and had a very good time. Food perfect, music perfect, perfect dinner.
We finished the evening upstairs in the lounge area. Lovely evening! Will sure go back 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent place for South-American food. Nice restaurant with good location.
Starters were good but mains were completely tasteless - both my vegetarian and my friend's pork dish. Disappointing as the other reviews were so good. The venue itself is very nicely done with good ambiance, but a group of young girls were sitting next to us and we found it hard to get service while the waiters were fawning over them.
Fantastic food and great experience. Superb flavours.
This restaurant is amazing. I felt like at home. For dinner we went downstairs. Very nice and comfortable environment for the two of us. The food was delicious. I suggest to book downstairs.
Always amazing. Very good 👍🏻👍🏻
Superlative as last time! I think it is not for all tastes: dishes are very balanced and with perfectly integrated flavours. Tacos Amazing. Right price for quality in London and portions.
Poor experience overall. The salmon tacos were tiny and the tortillas had a very weird spongy texture. The tuna tartare was the worst I've ever had. The fish was not fresh. We ordered cocktails from the signature cocktails menu but we were very disappointed, either too sweet or bland. The only ok dish we had was the king prawns. Staff and service were good. Overall the idea of the restaurant is good but it has a long way to go to justify the price tag.
The food in Zuaya was really excellent, I thought the atmosphere was going to be a bit more lively and the music wasn't very Latin which might make it more authentic and fun.
The food and drink was really good.
Portions very small and we were hungry after ordering starters and mains and dessert. Not good value for money. Food was tasty but need to increase portion size and we are not big eaters.
nice place and music, with friendly staff, but food was really not good. good try with presentation but no flavour and very expensive for what it was. in one of the tacos they forgot half of the ingridience from the menu. management took off he bill the dishes we returned but would have being nice to offer a dessert or drink from the house as we left very dissapointed .
A nice restaurant. The menu had a nice variety of dishes. We tried the ceviche tacos and tartar. All were very nice and fresh.
I normally save 5 stars for exceptional experience. Theo’s was very good, below exceptional but not by a lot.
The music downstairs dinning area felt a bit loud.
I wish we had time to try the bar upstairs.
Nice interior, good food but staff need more training in conversation and approach. Overall well done.
Amazing. I was not a fun of South American food, but having been in this restaurant with my girlfriend I definitely changed my mind: octopus and corn cake with burrata are simply incredible. Not spicy and great vegetarian food. Very romantic place and cool people. I loved the music atmosphere and the good service and dining experience. I would recommend to people that want to share good experiences with friends they care of. I will go back!!
The food was extremely dussappointing. In particular the fish was very “fishy” and not fresh tasting. The staff didn’t seem particularly concerned or moved by our feedback - we left much of the food on our plates - and there was no attempt to offer a discount or an alternative. As someone who grew up in South America and knows the good well, it was incredibly didsappointing. Such a shame as the venue us lovely.
Cooking was good quality but expensive, also pre-dinner drink vodka and tonic. Ceviches both had same passion fruit flavoured sauce. One dish was very slow to arrive. Please can the canned music.
I went back today with some colleagues of mine for a corporate dinner. Monday is not an easy day. We booked a table downstairs this time. WOW the team loved it. Very comfortable and discrete. We had very good food and we spent amazing and valuable time together. Also the vegetarian food 🍀☘️ was high quality and well prepared 👍🏻, not easy. The cold weather in London these days ❄️❄️❄️ inspired me to book also the Xmas corporate dinner in Dec...we will decide the menu close by 👍🏻. Very flexible approach of the manager and cook. Lovely guys. Prawns 🦐 and fish 🐟 were amazing. The “to share” model was great!!!...with wine we paid a reasonable price, in budget 😉👍🏻!!!
Most amazing restaurant in London by far. The ambience, food, and service is all absolutely perfect. Especially in London where the city can get repetitive this hidden gem in Kensington completely transports you and makes you feel like you are on a warm, tropical holiday. It’s perfect for date night or a fun night out with friends. I would highly recommend the Zuaya ceviche, corn brûlée, purple taco and presa iberica. By far my favourite place! I will definitely be coming back (every weekend) 😉
The food was great. The fish and the tomatoes were high quality and perfectly cooked. Amazing. The environment is super cool and the service is very kind. A great combination of all.
I have never been bothered to write a review online but I was determined to write one for this restaurant. Zuaya is locate just off High Kensington. The decor is a mix of funky and sleek modern (if that makes sense) which somehow work really well. Aesthetically it is gorgeous. The food is a Peruvian fusion and whilst the menu is not extensive everything (expect the lamb Peruvian curry) was really delicious. As a group of 5 we sampled a fair share of the tapas style starters and a number is mains.
The reason I felt compelled to write this review is due to a small issue which has left a bitter taste in my month and put me off. It is not about the money, it’s only £2.50, but the principle.
As with the majority of nice establishments, prior to starters you are offered a piece of some type of fancy bread. This was no different. On our table of 5 only 3 of us chose to take up this offer. The bread was absolutely lovely. Part way through the meal, one member (who declined her bread initially) asked the waiter if it was possible to get a piece of bread. His reply, which literally stunned us, was “yes, but you will have to pay an extra £2.50”. This is in a restaurant where each tapas/starter is around £10 and mains up to £23.
I have NEVER been to restaurant that has done this. I often take my child to nice resturants and he nearly always asks for MORE bread, and not even a piece he initially declined. Never have I been met with such a response. Anyway, when the bill came (around £200 excluding alcohol) sure enough the £2.50 for the palm sized piece of bread was there.
We laughed and thought it was just ridiculous but felt it was only far to share so no one else makes the “mistake” of declining their initial offer of bread and having a change of heart later. It will cost you ;) lol.
Top class.. abundance of flavours in every dish. Service was prompt and attentive. The taco’s and duck breast curry highly recommended. Will definitely visit again
Had Sunday lunch here last week. It was extremely enjoyable. An experience for the senses. The combinations are absolutely spot on. Great service. We’ll be back. Only slight down size was the price. Little bit on the high side. Still, really worth it for a special occasion or a treat!
The food and service are great. The cooking is out of the ordinary, South American inspired. Don't think Mexican street food: The dishes here are sophisticated and subtly flavoured. The servers are charming, efficient and extremely obliging. The one unfortunate feature is the decor. Fake jungle greenery covers every available surface and sprouts from each crevice. There is an imitation monkey hanging from an imitation branch. I hope the overwhelming silliness of the look doesn't discourage diners who only put their heads through the door. The rest of the experience merits pushing on in through the overgrowth.
Having read a positive review about this restaurant we were keen to try it. Both of us love Peruvian food with its exciting flavours and colours. This is a relatively new venture having opened about a month ago. The downstairs area where most tables are found is small and beautifully decorated. Good visual atmosphere. Sadly for us it was let down by uncomfortably loud music (particularly when we were seated below a speaker before being moved) coming from the live DJ upstairs. (DJ Thursday -Sunday eves). Also some of the tables are placed too close, annoying if you are a two next to a loud party of four. I wish this venture well but won’t be back until the DJ goes.
Great vibe at this Latin American gem. Fun atmosphere, delicious and inventive food, superior service. What more could you ask for?
- The restaurant was quiet on a Friday night, with not a lot of atmosphere. Could imagine if busier the ambience would be better
- Snack at the beginning was fine, but the rest of the food was mediocre - bad. The squid inside the tacos smelt off and was crunchy so we sent it back. Even if the squid would have been fresh, the overall dish lacked taste and imagination
- Overall the service was friendly but not that attentive considering it was quiet. I did feel bad for the waiters who were trying to do a good job with bad food
- Way overpriced for what it was
We had a very nice dining experience which forfilled expectations. The staff were friendly and polite with fantastic service. The food was tasty and fresh with interesting flavors. Overall a delightful experience.
We've had a lovely lunch in Zuaya. The 'London to Lima' cocktail was one of the most delicious I've ever had.
The food was very good too. Amuse bouche, ceviche, sweetcorn burrata, chicken and sea bass were all excellent. The chicken portion was on the smallish side, but full of flavour. Considering the very reasonable price of the set lunch, it was great value. The staff shine! They all absolutely lovely. I will be back very soon.
