A unique restaurant with terrace, bar and café overlooking the bustling Borough Market; Rabot 1745 has the polished elegance of a Saint Lucian plantation house stylishly transported to the heart of London with authentic touches like hurricane-felled Ironwood, brought home from their own 250-year-old cocoa estate.

The Rabot Terrace brings the Saint Lucian party spirit to London this summer! The open-air dining space is a free spirit just like a Saint Lucian ‘jump-up’. A relaxing island get-together for drinks, food and music outdoors after sunset. Please specify a terrace booking in the special request box.

At heart of London’s most exciting food market, Rabot 1745 offers a ‘cacao cuisine’ menu featuring contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with the savoury richness of cacao used as a subtle garnish, infusion and spice throughout.

Private Dining

Rabot 1745 is a unique restaurant and bar, offering innovative cacao cuisine and the polished atmosphere of a Saint Lucian plantation house transported to the heart of London. A true cacao haven, it returns this ancient ingredient to its rightful place as an elegant infusion and subtle spice.

Very nice and cosy ambience, inetesting dishes but not all of them "wowed" our party. Chocolate ganache served with Chateaubriand was overpowering the steak (but delicious on it's own afterwards), slow-cooked beef was rather on the dry side and didn't have enough glaze to go with it, chocolate mousse selection was way too sweet. On balance, scallops were delicious, venison was cooked to perfection and very well balanced in flavour, and their hot chocolate is always winning 5* marks. We've had a lovely night and were well looked after by the staff, so we might be back at some point to try a new menu (but will definitely come back to the bar for more hot chocolate).

As a one off experience I liked the novelty and was drawn by the fact it is owned by Hotel Chocolat but the food did not blow me away. It was nice but not value for money.
Service was excellent from the waiter although initial impressions were poor as we stood for a few minutes without being acknowledged.

Wonderful night catching up with friends in a fabulous restaurant with a chocolate focus... never before have I dipped my chips in chocolate ganache but the combination was a great experience... if only I had had space for a bigger dessert. I will be back.

Excellent friendly helpful service (Fabio).
First course (scallops) was fine.
Main course was problematical. Sweet potato chips were cold and soggy - really bad. We complained and they replaced them with sweet potato fries that were warm but very slimy and soggy. One part of the main dish was a vegetarian curry. It was cold so we sent it back. It was replaced with another which was hot but awful tasting.
Deserts- great
This was our 3rd visit but I think it will be our last.
Restaurants can experience problems, but a good restaurant would send the manager over to investigate and compensate. All we got was a free drink.

A great selection of quality food. We both went for the Hereford beef in Yorkshire pudding to start - melt in the mouth beef, crispy pudding and divine reduction! I predictably went for the burger with bacon for my main - simply wow!! Other half went for mac n cheese - another wow!! Dessert was a taste to be desired. I went for the molten lava which was absolutely off the charts for taste and texture! Wife had the three mouse plate which was incredible. Overall, loved the venue, service, value and selection. Avoid sitting outside when the cleaning of the Market is going on though. That was our choice to sit outside though 😜. Definitely would recommend this restaurant. The rum selection is incredible. Sitting downstairs for pre-dinner drinks amongst the choccie delights is awesome!!

I went to Rabot on Saturday for an early lunch with my boyfriend.

I liked the atmospheare and the design of the restaurant inside, as soon as we sat down we ordered a couple of cocktail which I wasn't really impress by.

We ordered a sharing platter as starter and venison as a main. Even hough the starter was more beatiful to watch then really oustanding taste, I have been impress by the meat, tender juicy and with an exotic chocolate taste. But the main piece it has been the taste of the pulled venison served wuth a disk with spinach, so tastful and very hard to forget.

Everything has been washed with a very nice portuguese red wine reccomended by the waiter.

It has been a very nice expereince as a over all but maybe next time I'll get main and dessert rather then starter.

We saw this advertised on Ainsley's Caribbean kitchen and that it was specialising in chocolate based cuisine and booked straight away to go. We were not disappointing! Service was wonderful and we delighted in some of loveliness that was on the menu which was using chocolate from one plantation in St Lucia.

The best meal we have had so far this year, without a doubt! Stunning!!! White chocolate mash, omg!!!

Was hoping to have a relaxing nice meal without the hustle and bustle that can happen around Borough Market... was not disappointed. Amazing service, lovely food and wonderful atmosphere still able to hear each other speaking without yelling over a noisy room. Not my first visit and as lovely as the last visit!

A great find in a central location with excellent food including vegetarian options. The outside space is a welcome addition, service was reasonably quick, portion sizes good. Food was very tasty - and the cacao nibs used were fairly subtle in taste and a nice addition. A bit on the pricier side. Plan to return soon.

This was a family get together for afternoon tea. The food was excellent, as was the choice of drinks. I particularly enjoyed the cacao and ginger infusion. A bottle of Prosecco was offered with our tea at a very reasonable price. The food was also very good, with a selection of interesting sandwiches, nice cakes, very good scones and chocolates. Staff were friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed our visit and would happily go back

This was our first time at Rabot 1745, and it won't be our last. Great food, presentation and service, all with a hint of chocolate. What's not to like? Who'd have thought that melting white chocolate into mashed potato would be so nice, and be great with beef?! Genius.

This was our second visit. The service is friendly without being overattentive. The food really is outstanding. The chocolate elements are touches rather than overpowering. Portion sizes are good but not overwhelming. The vibe is very relaxed. My 16 year old just loves it here. I think Rabot is going to be a staple every time we come to London.

I have to say that we were disappointed with our visit. Hav8ng been very excited we found that the scallops were chewy and the side we ordered was cold. The pudding - pear and chocolate crumble- was so hard that even me the biggest foodie couldn’t eat it. The chicken and burger were very tasty. But overall a disappointment

Prior to visiting the restaurant I spoke with a member of staff to confirm my booking, I informed the member of staff we would be attending to celebrate my friends birthday which she acknowledged. Unfortunately the staff failed to do anything special for my friend on the day - a simple candle in one of the scones would have been enough of a gesture. This was quite disappointing - aside from that the tea itself was nice although on the pricey side with no offer of topping up any of the sandwiches. When you are spending £30 a head for tea I would expect this to be offered!
