Our meal with Rabot 1745 was wonderful. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly- I was concerned we would be late for our reservation time because of tube disruption however when I rang to pre-warn the staff about our potential lateness, they were very understanding and reassuring. The food was beautiful and delicious. The integration of chocolate into every dish gives the menu an edge of intrigue which makes dining there an exciting experience. I would highly recommend!
I’ve eaten here before at lunch time and had a memorable experience so thought I would take my family for dinner. We sat outside as it was a sunny evening, although there are heaters if it’s a cold day. We had a wonderful meal, everything was perfect.. the ambience was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and lived up to expectation. The presentation of the food was amazing. It was quite expensive for the four of us with wine and cocktails but well worth it for a special occasion
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the food,, it was bland
It was lacking so much flavour, no salt, no oomph, no punch, not yummy ! Nor moorish..
And definitely didn’t get the cocoa influence

It was wonderful of them to offer hotel chocolate as it was a birthday celebration, and I adore Hotel Chocolate,
The drinks were yummy and and hit the spot.
The wines were reasonably priced.
But the Foo’s was a total disappointment to me.
Great place to relax with friends, food is wonderful
This is my fourth visit to Rabot 1745. Whilst we had a most enjoyable evening with lots of positives, the food which should be the star of the show was not as good as previous visits. In previous visits, my experience of the food is that I wished it was a meal that would never end, it was that good. This time round, whilst the food was very nice, it just didn't taste as good. In terms of value for money, I'd say moderate as the portions were modest and not of the quality that I remembered.
That said, its cocoa theme, Borough Market location, attentive service and attractive décor are enough to draw me back for another visit.
What a fabulous dining experience. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were helpful but also unobtrusive. Whilst you can hear the trains it adds to the atmosphere of being in the market place. We had a table “outside” which means under the glass market roof. This means you don't have to worry about the weather yet still has a continental feel. This was a special family birthday but a romantic date would be just as good here.
Really enjoyed I eat with my eyes first and belly second and I was not disappointed best chocolate dessert I’ve ever had and the Waiter Alex was amazing he help select our fabulous meal and recommended the almost amazing wine and very reasonable
Wonderful food which delivered great flavour whilst cleverly incorporating different forms of chocolate. I am a regular Hotel Chocolat shopper and this place definately ticked all the boxes.

Great location, interesting food theme, but not a single dish impressed, and nouvelle cuisine portion sizes left us hungry and £45/head down. Disappointed. BTW, I rated noise levels as high due to cleaning of Borough Market which added to environment rather than detracted.

Fantastic food and service that was attentive and considered but not over the top; it's also a really lovely space. This was our second visit and we will be back I'm sure.
My partner is vegan though and whilst the staff were happy to speak to the chef about 'veganifying' some of the vegetarian dishes, that always feels like a little bit of a compromise and the main menu could probably do with another standalone vegan dish - it does feel like choice could get a bit limited for her going forward otherwise.

Lively bustling area with lots going on. Rustic décor. Good service and lovely food. Loved the tiny brioche bun with egg mayo.
We had an absolutely incredible dinner celebrating a birthday at Rabot 1745. The found was all subtly chocolate themed and very artfully done, with three courses each for around £35 which was well priced for the quality of the meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Beautifully crafted dishes and a great atmosphere, perfect for celebrating a special event with a very reasonable price tag. We will be coming again.
Wildly expensive but truly excellent. I'd love to go back. Great for dining with good friends or a date especially!
This was a pleasant surprise. Knowing that all courses had a cocoa element was intriguing but the food was delicious. The staff were attentive and helpful. The meal was for a special celebration and we were not disappointed. Cant wait to return.

Brilliant night, as soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Our server was excellent, the right mix of looking after us and leaving us to get on with it. Food was great, the Yorkshire pudding starter was a taste sensation and the burgers for our main course were cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back, just a shame it is not closer!!

It is great to have such a wide selection of unique, cacao based menu choices presented in fantastic way. I wasn't aware that Hotel Chocolat had a restaurant until recently and will certainly recommend it to friends.
Service was great but fell short on food. I ordered the Hake filet and it had bones...the flavour was ok, but nothing to rave about.
We had a wonderful experience. Welcoming staff. With a sense of humour.

Pretty much everything you eat in Rabot 1745 in some way relates to chocolate, whilst keeping the savoury component savoury. I was less impressed with the white chocolate mashed potatoes than previous reviewers have been, but the molten chocolate lava for pudding was divine. Portion sizes were plentiful and although our first courses came without a carb or decent portion of veg, sharing one side of mash and one side of veg between 2 people was more than enough for 2 large appetites. Getting into the toilets is a bit of a test of ingenuity, though.
The waiter rudely came over to our table and tried to kick us off because we said we didn’t want drinks but we had already ordered food. ?!?! Started moving out cutlery off. Only stayed because we were starving.

The gimmick is chocolate applicable to anything. Staff and the place are fine. I think food and presentation is average. So if you like their gimmick, you could go and have a try.

Excellent service, great cocktails which you could discern the different flavours with ease. Food was excellent with some really original combinations that worked well. Excellent waiting staff. Probably the most I have paid for a meal but well worth it as the food was excellent.

Soft Jazz music, lovely mains and dessert (didn't have a starter). The staff are friendly, the food is lovely.
Would recommend the white chocolate mash, it doesn't sound like it works but its nice.
Decently priced considering its owner and its desire to be a more premium . Cafe downstairs doesn't encroach on the ambience of the restaurant upstairs.

Inventive, thoughtful menu across all areas - simply worth visiting for this alone. The cocoa theme is maintained throughout, in ways one may never have imagined. Quite brilliant dishes and almost all worth trying. Service was relaxed but punctual - we visited in the lull between lunch and dinner which was most peaceful.

Fantastic food - the hake dish one of the best fish dishes I have ever had.
We were initially charged full prices, rather than the price of the special 2 course menu that we had ordered from. This was put right, but not everyone checks their bill!
My colleague reported slow service while waiter was busy baking a cake at the bar or something.

I think the menu is not suited for lunch meetings or casual lunch. It's too stiff for the area, being it in Borough Market. It's super crowded everywhere in the area, except in the restaurant, just 2 tables. I think they have to rethink their menu for lunch, because their breakfast menu is great.

My friends and I had a lovely evening here. The space was pleasant and the food was delicious. The service by Fabio was the highlight for me--he was attentive yet relaxed, well-informed, and at ease in answering our questions about the menu. Having spent a lot of years in food service myself, this is something that I always notice. He was great. Our receipt also served as a discount coupon for the shop downstairs, which was a nice perk!
