On the menu: a unique blend of Anglo-Saint-Lucian cuisine; contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with roasted cacao beans used as a subtle savoury spice and garnish – just as they had been in the centuries before chocolate was invented – as well as the rich, deep heart of desserts.

White Chocolate Mash
Mac & Cheese
A national treasure in the Caribbean, for ours we heighten the flavour with a hint of mushroom in creamy, melted mature Cheddar. So moreish, you'll want to eat the bowl – which you can, it's puff pastry kneaded with cacao nibs. Served with a whirl of smoked paprika coleslaw
Lovely food, great experience
We felt that the starter and main courses were bland .We were expecting a little spice in them
As this was a Caribbean meal
We think you are try to use Hotel Chocolate as the draw
and for a lunch the meal was a bit pricey.
We enjoyed Sunday lunch here, I had the roast beef, it was amazing, I cannot wait to get back and have it again, the tastiest beef cooked perfectly with vegetables and a light Yorkshire pudding, followed by sticky toffee pudding, mmmmmm. Marin served us again, with the highest level of courtesy and professionalism. Everyone enjoyed the prosecco, the beer and the food - we got the train home with satisfaction and full bellies.
Olivia is one of the most charming and kind members of a restaurant team, so that was very pleasant. Mac and cheese was quite nice and different, the Sunday roast however was disappointing, the meat was tough and pale, the vegetables barely there, the tiny parsnip tip was hard, the roast potatoes (or one potato cut into three?) bland and quite underdone and a sprig of tender stem broccoli cut into three slivers. Overall rather a mean so called portion of veg! The dessert, Black Forest was quite strange, a splodge of cream sprinkled with a bit of cake, a few cherries and that was it. All for just shy of £100. Disappointing? Very.
Amazing food, fantastic service!! They made a real effort for my partners birthday. Would go again!
Lovely to sit on the rooftop overlooking Borough Market. Great value afternoon tea, fantastic service & amazing cocktails
I went with my two daughters and although the menu was limited it was certainly sufficient for us. It's well positioned and the service was attentive.
Nice meal and good service. Will definitely coming back.
Have been regular customers since opening, food and service excellent. However l was very disappointed about how run down the restaurant has become especially the toilets which were disgusting for a restaurant of this reputation.
Amazing location right in the heart of Borough market. Went there on a Sunday, service is decent, unfortunately, brunch menu is not available after 1pm , and left us with not so many options in terms of food. Wine menu is great though.
Our meal at Rabot was once again a lovely mix on a consistently high standard of food and drink at very reasonable prices, with such a professional but friendly service. Adding chocolate faithfully to relevant dishes works very well.
Food, drinks , service was fantastic. We are so impressed
I loved it so much, the food was amazing but let’s face it how could it not be combined with cacao! Service was fantastic & food delicious would definitely go again, thank you 😊
Great food great cocktails and great service! Highly recommend
From entering the restaurant to leaving, it was fantastic. The service was attentive and the food and drinks were amazing. Atmosphere was relaxed and we overall had a great time.
Absolutely perfect. Good ambience, outstanding food and service. Couldn’t be happier
Friendly staff and interesting menu. Food very tasty.
The food, drinks and service were wonderful. The outdoor seating on the terrace is warm and welcoming with a great atmosphere; the waiting staff could not have been more attentive.
The white chocolate mashed potato was fantastic, if you have the 24h slow cooked beef make sure to shred it into the sauce for maximum effect.
Had no idea Hotel Chocolat had a restaurant and that it was in the heart of Borough Market! This place is a gem - unusual menu, given the fact that there is a little bit of chocolate/ cacao in all of the dishes or dips, but it really works! We went as a party of 5 for a pre-theatre (or rather, candlelit ballet in Southwark Cathedral, ie very close to there too) dinner, and between us we ordered the scallops, beet wellington, beef, mac n cheese, and the burger, plus some sides to share (chips and mash). Everything was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing, although the beet Wellington was basically an entire beetroot wrapped in pastry, as opposed to being mixed with anything else before it was encased in the pastry. We also ordered desserts, which were all outstanding - we had the sticky toffee pudding, the chocolate fudge cake and the pear tart. Nothing to fault there. The drinks were great too. No mocktails on the menu, but they offered to turn one into a non-alcoholic one for one of us, so that was great too. A bit noisy because it overlooks Borough Market and you have the trains going past, but it wasn't an issue, and the view from our table on the terrace was nice. Overall, we loved it and will defo be coming back at some point. Thank you!
Fantastic & luxurious afternoon tea!
Lovely venue and the food was delicious. The cocktails weren't quite as good as the menu suggested, but still fine. The mash potato is incredible.
OMG. Cannot recommend this place enough. The cocktails are absolutely amazing. Stick with them through your meal, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you have room for Appetisers, Entrees and deserts. Everything is amazing. Our waiter, Marin and the staff where great. The right amount of attention, humour and advice. If you are South of the River, put this on your must visit list.
Don't be put off by the chocolate in the recipes and drinks
Brilliant evening ! Sat outside overlooking Borough Market. Warm night and lights from the closed but still busy market added to the occasion. Table booked with a Buyagift voucher but the smaller menu was still delicious and unusual. Flavouring was subtle but different. Would thoroughly recommend !
We were sat on a table on the terrace are and it was a lovely atmosphere contrasting the calm of the restaurant upstairs with the busy hussle and bussle downstairs in the market.
The staff were all the right balance of friendly, chatty and informative without being intrusive.
The food was amazing, big portions and delicious. The cocoa/ chocolate addictions to the food were subtle but really added something magical to the dish.
Deserts and drinks were also very tasty.
Really enjoyable experience in all aspects.
Interesting menu which resulted in wonderful food. Lovely staff and beautiful design. Loved it, new favourite restaurant in London!
Great service and ambience very welcoming would love to go again
Great food! Service was quick! Hidden little gem!
A beautiful warm evening alfresco dining with the backdrop of Borough market. The food was delicious and perfectly presented along with impeccable service - all in all wonderful experience.
I had a great time at Rabot 1745. Excellent food and service, and there was a lovely calm atmosphere in the restaurant. I can't wait to go back!
A blast frtom the past. I've visited a few times but had a hiatus of a few years.
We went at lunch and sat on the market terrace. Food was good but the menu has not changed. Discretionary service was a little cheeky.. We had to work hard to be served but on the plus side we didn't feel like we were being chased out!
Food was excellent and good quality. I had the Garden breakfast and my husband had the full English and both dishes were delicious, so were the berry smoothies. Highly recommended it.
Generally ok - food good; no wow factor - interesting chocolate dips / Mayo / relish with most dishes
Very delicious food with combos of flavours you would never think would taste good but are delicious
Very friendly staff and lovely place. Food was delicious and very different - a lovely evening.
Fantastic food and great service as usual. The Old Fashioned cocktail has to be tried.
Great location, beautiful restaurant, extremely helpful staff and most importantly the food was supreme. Thanks You!
Food was lovely and the staff were accommodating!
Enjoyed the afternoon tea! Excellent service, great location
