A unique restaurant with terrace, bar and café overlooking the bustling Borough Market; Rabot 1745 has the polished elegance of a Saint Lucian plantation house stylishly transported to the heart of London with authentic touches like hurricane-felled Ironwood, brought home from their own 250-year-old cocoa estate.

The Rabot Terrace brings the Saint Lucian party spirit to London this summer! The open-air dining space is a free spirit just like a Saint Lucian ‘jump-up’. A relaxing island get-together for drinks, food and music outdoors after sunset. Please specify a terrace booking in the special request box.

At heart of London’s most exciting food market, Rabot 1745 offers a ‘cacao cuisine’ menu featuring contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with the savoury richness of cacao used as a subtle garnish, infusion and spice throughout.

Loved it all, maybe my main sauce could have had a slight stronger cacao taste. But otherwise my starter and desert was just right, and cocktail. Had a lovely evening.

The food was amazing and it was a nice treat for my boyfriends birthday. However the staff were rude and unhelpful. Something that I don’t expect when I’m paying £90+ for a meal. I told them it was his birthday when I made the booking and even provided some candles to put in his pudding. Our waiter was rude and didn’t talk to us and then forgot to put my candles in his pudding. Then didn’t even apologise. I spoke the manager who told me the normal practice is to give a special birthday plate but that they were too busy and just “forgot”
I wasn’t offered any sort of compensation and just left feeling very disappointed. Not the way I wanted to end a lovely and expensive meal

A lovely meal on the whole. My Chicken breast was a little dry on the outside, but otherwise the food was really good

We arrived at 6:30 pm and had a table outside overlooking the market and at times it was quite noisy due to the cleaning machines in the market

We were there at 5.30 Friday evening and sat on the terrace overlooking the market which was still buzzing. Loved it. Excellent service and delicious meal. We had two starters instead of a main which was perfect for us. Absolutely loved the goats cheese. Certainly different from the norm. We’ll be back soon.

Initial impression was good we were seated on the balcony overlooking Borough Market which was lovely but this was disturbed by the train rumbling by at regular intervals.
The service was good to start off with but I felt we were forgotten a bit for the bigger dining group so we were given the wrong meal then had to ask for service to order the dessert and then had to chase for the bill.
The food was tasty good but lacking something!

Have to say the food was exceptional and will be returning to try other items on the menu, so filling but could not leave any of it. The waiting staff were fantastic, any questions were answered and a good value evening.

Set menu had a good option for each course and all the food was cooked really well. Some indication of the size of each choice would be useful as these varied considerably depending upon what was ordered. Marco our waiter was excellent. Very attentive and engaging but not overly invasive.

Great and unique option that is a little bit different. Even if chocolate is not your thing, there is still options to eat without this or food being too sweet.

I came here with a friend for an evening meal. The food was very nice and had an interesting cocoa twist, but I thought it was a bit overpriced for what it was. It went well and the service was generally good, although I wasn't happy that they wouldn't serve me a hot drink when I asked for one before I ordered food, despite a full range of hot drinks being present in the drinks menu. They didn't really give much of a reason either, my friend thought it could be that they don't want people having hot drinks with food as it "isn't usually the done thing". However as this is a chocolate themed restaurant, I fully expect to be able to have a hot chocolate! We were given cocoa beans to try when seated which I thought was a nice thing, and we were given a 20% discount for the shop downstairs afterwards. I will say that we initially tried sitting outside on the terrace, but itwas extremely noisy, particularly whenever a train went past (it was directly below a railway bridge). It was intolerable so we had to move outside. Al fresco dining was a really nice idea, but unfortunately it was the completely wrong kind of location for it due to the noise. Overall a good dining experience though.

Service was excellent. Food was very tasty but I like my food piping hot and the aubergine and spinach curry was warm. The flat bread was hard. The heirloom salad was delicious as were the Koftas. Thanks.

Was given a meal for two at this restaurant with a view from the shard for a birthday gift. I took my husband along, and we really enjoyed our visit. Food was lovely, and the waitress and waiter were perfect all the way. We will return, maybe during the day so that we can see the market in full operation from the balcony.

Shame about the building work - and this is why I’ve marked the noise level & ambience lower than normal - but it no doubt won’t last forever and we could have sat inside rather than on the terrace if it had been a real problem!

The food was absolutely amazing! Great and attentive service
we were a group of 6 and had to wait nearly an hour for the food to be served but it was well worth the wait, the only problem with waiting was the fact that this was a work lunch and some people had to leave early to attend meetings and missed out on having a delicious dessert!

Our second visit to Rabot 1745, and again it was sensational.

It was our anniversary on Saturday and we chose Rabot for the occasion.
They were kind enough to present our dessert on boards with beautifully written chocolate 'Happy Anniversary' on them. They also gifted us with a box of chocolates, which was a great touch and a perfect end to the dining experience.

The meal was suberb, the food exquisitely presented and filled with wonderful, unique flavours.
The cocktails at the bar downstairs were also great!

The service is seamless, calm and professional and couldn't really fault it.

Can't recommend Rabot more!

Had the pork wellington which was very tasty. However the sweet potato chips were too seasoned and very spicy. Need to be told level of spice when ordering. Was a little disappointed with desserts. BAFTA dessert was not available. Expedited more variety from a Hotel Chocolat brand. Chocolate mouse was too sickly and needed something to break it up. The lava cake was amazing.

I liked the food, but when the bill came it was a tad confusing because it was itemised even though we had all ordered the set menu for £25. It would have been easier to see the set meals, drinks and extras in the bill. In hindsight, I think we may have been overcharged as we barely ordered any drinks and only one side to share.
