On the menu: a unique blend of Anglo-Saint-Lucian cuisine; contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with roasted cacao beans used as a subtle savoury spice and garnish – just as they had been in the centuries before chocolate was invented – as well as the rich, deep heart of desserts.

White Chocolate Mash
Shouldn't work, but it does. Addictive
Chocolate Sticky Toffee Pudding** ***
Small but mighty. Trio of bold yet balanced sponges: malty, deep, not too sweet. Pumpkin and almond for crunch. Orange for contrast. Cocoa whip for lightness. Served with a shot of Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur, to warm you to your toes
Molten Chocolate Lava
Your cake runneth over with intense 70% dark. Served with a sesame and Nigella seed tuile and house cocoa nib ice cream, gently infused over 24 hours
Great food and fabulous service.
The waiters were VERY VERY VERY friendly and helpful. Good interactions, and they don’t make you feel awkward or anything at all. Food was good, definitely worth the money. Ambience was good too. We went at 7pm so Borough market was closed already, hence I think the noise is just at the right appoint, with good lighting and ambience. We were sitter at the terrace.
Fantastic as always. Great food, great service, amazing staff. Thank you!
A perfect meal celebrating a special birthday with friends!
The food was absolutely delicious - fresh and different. Good at catering for food intolerances. The rhubarb tartlet was the best gluten free desert I've ever had. The service was attentive and friendly. Can't wait to return
service and location excellent--the food quality and quantity was not the greatest for the price--the burger was really uninspiring for the price--seen better at MacDonalds -we did think that the Yorkshire pudding and beef starter was really good
Would recommend -some items on menu better value than others
Excellent food Excellent service all round excellent can'twait to try the afternoon tea in August
Excellent and prompt service.
Food excellent. Sat on balcony which was nice on such a hot day but there was a lot of noise from the trains rumbling past.
Lovely meal, lovely surroundings, very peaceful and a lovely waiter.
Sunday roast was very delicious, I would definitely recommend! Portion size is perfect! Staff were lovely, over all was a very lovely quiet atmosphere!
The location of this restaurant is on top of Borough market so it's great to see it from a different angle. My reservation was at 2pm so it was a little quieter.
The Strawberry, Chilli & White Chocolate Margarita was pretty strong and quite heady if you haven't eaten for a while. The hamburger had the chocolate ganache on the side, so you could spread how little/much you wanted onto your burger - I had a little as I was a little afraid that it might overwhelm the meat and the cheese. The flavour with the burger and the cheese did confuse my tastebuds, but it wasn't unpleasant. The burger was a generous side and was very satisfying with the chips and these were filling.
This was followed by the pretty rhubarb tartlet which had a small scoop of sorbet and a chocolate lattice balanced on top. Despite the sorbet and the little dots of strawberry coulis, I found the tartlet on the dry side. I wished the sorbet was a larger scoop to offset this.
Service was good and attentive. The waiter replaced my water carafe without me asking. It was good to use the gift card to part-pay for my meal as it's part of the Hotel Chocolate brand.
I would return - to try out the afternoon tea as most of the other diners have ordered this.
Having had two trips to St Lucia cancelled due to COVID, we thought the next best thing would be Rabot 1745 but sadly not. Me and my partner are of St Lucian heritage and were expecting to be fully immersed in the St Lucian Caribbean culture but we could have been absolutely anywhere.
West Indian food is wholesome and full of flavour but the food here lacked in these areas nor did it remind us of home as we image it should have. I ordered: the chicken and white chocolate mash which I enjoyed once I added a little salt and pepper (something you should not really need to do with West Indian food). My partner ordered: the mac & cheese with added beef which he enjoyed but this was more American as opposed to traditional West Indian.
The Caribbean is known for it’s bright smiles, friendliness, good energy and vibrant music but the restaurant and experience as a whole lacked in all of these areas also. There was no music playing at all let alone music to tell people they were eating in a restaurant which originated from the Caribbean.
The only relation the restaurant had to St Lucia was a couple of photographs which were taken of the hotel ‘Hotel Chocolat’, which I only knew having been there myself otherwise would have no idea what they were of. Not even so much a flag in sight.
The overall experience was completely underwhelming, we felt as if we had been totally tourist trapped and paid way above what we should have. Completely disappointed is an understatement.
St Lucia has so much to offer but this restaurant felt by no means authentic or a true reflection of St Lucia and it’s beauty.
Personally I am sad to be writing this review as I visited Rabot 1745 some years ago, soon after it had opened, I recall the friendly waitress Mia who knew her stuff re St Lucia and yet it is now far from what I experienced then. I even recall hearing the sound of rainwater & crickets when I went to the toilet (if you know you know) but they’ve even stopped that!
Amazing service and food as per usual! Not too busy which was lovely and the team are so friendly and helpful 😀 100% would recommend, the food is delicious and you will leave the restaurant feeling STUFFED!
Very disappointed I had booked afternoon tea for my daughters birthday only to get there and be told that they only serve on Friday and Saturday. Spoiled my daughters birthday. Staff were amazing though and extremely apologetic
What an amazing place to eat and socialise with friends, we shared a bottle of prosecco, had 3 courses and the food was divine, the service was amazing and I have booked to return next week with a different friend. We both recommend the macaroni cheese with the added beef - delicious. The sticky toffee pudding or the selection of sorbets highly recommended for dessert and the starters - I had scallops, my friend had the salmon avocado watermelon dish and both were a perfect size with perfect flavours to start the meal. Wonderful!
Burger came well done rather than being asked how i would like it done- eg medium rare.
Tart for dessert appeared to have been microwaved to heat it up rather than oven which meant pastry soggy and not v nice.
Excellent food and service
The Sunday chicken roast was lovely
Had a fabulous breakfast at Rabot 1745! Very tender pancakes tasted delicious
Absolutely perfect breakfast. Particularly enjoyable to have the busy market below the calm of the restaurant
Mario our waiter was amazing. So helpful and efficient
The terrace was spacious and airy, with views down to Borough Market. The roast beef was superb, a great cut, beautifully cooked, and the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were wonderful. The service was very good and friendly. Good wine list too.
Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend and will be booking again soon.
Lovely food, interesting concept! The waiter was wonderful and gave us some really cool info about the restaurant itself.
Didn’t realise it existed so a very lovely gem to find!
Amazing food and wonderful service. Have been before and will be back again!
Great food with a twist of Cocoa in most of the meals. Warm and cosy vibes. Loved it and would visit again
The restaurant was busy all day. We sat outside and it was warm with the overhead heaters. The atmosphere was great. Food is always good and we weren’t rushed.
Superb little terrace, feels like you are inside, warmest dinner of the season so far. Food is tasty and really nice ambience
Great service and food, nice environment and overall really enjoyable time and place
Nice little gem for a Sunday roast
Will recommend and visit again. Definitely quality food , value for money .
This is a great place to go, thought we would be sitting outside the shop itself, but was treated to a lovely rooftop view with a lovely modern look. The service was excellent, as was the food! The price was definitely worth it and I would go there again!
The staff, outside seating and service was exceptional. The only thing that let our experience down was the food. Whilst the presentation was beautiful, the food lacked real flavour.
As a one off experience it’s great, but I would not go here again for the food alone.
great food, great service, great time. can't recommend this restaurant enough
Fantastic experience, food lovely, very friendly and helpful staff
Especially the manager who resolved a major issue with a bottle of prosecco but more importantly a smile and apologies.
Thank you and we will defo go back again :-)
Great brunch find - their upstairs outdoor area looks out over borough market and with heaters and not being open to the elements and it was lovely and warm!
One of the few restaurants in London Bridge to have a solid vegan selection and state that all their eggs are organic and free range. Bonus points!
We dined outside on the roof terrace one evening and it was warm under the heaters which was lovely. The menu was full of wonderful choices all with hints of chocolate and my partner and I are thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, desserts and cocktails. The strawberry, chilli and white chocolate margarita is a must!
Lovely food, great cocktails and attentive lovely staff! The chocolate ganache with the burger was surprisingly good! Would come back 100%. Great location, outdoor seating was perfect with heaters and roofing.
Came across this restaurant by accident but a good find. The food was excellent especially the pulled pork starter and pear tartlet dessert. Though only outside dining is allowed at the moment, it felt like being inside as it’s in Borough Market. There weren’t many main course options. I would have liked to have tried the chicken but it was only available as a whole chicken option which was too much for one. The waiting staff were very pleasant but service was quite slow and seemed to be slower as I was on my own. There was quite a large gap between starter and main which it was impossible to do three courses in the two hour slot I was allowed so it was great they let me stay longer.
Excellent staff, delicious food and great setting. I’ll be coming back here quite soon.
Really lovely heated terrace. I have been to multiple venues and got really cold sitting outside. This one was lovely and warm. They also give you 2 hours to dine rather than the standard 1.5 hours at a lot of places.
Food and service was lovely! Definitely recommend the salted caramel vodka liquor on the rocks!
