Creative dishes, modern and tasty
Food was delicious and hot! Service friendly and prompt, but would always prefer to tip in cash rather than having it automatically added on to the bill because that way you know it is going directly to the staff.
The food is great - beautiful execution, original combination. Steak was cooked perfectly to our taste. The waiter didn’t seem to be knowledgeable though at all and no one explained the dish when it was brought to the table, while there were quite a few questions outstanding due to recipe creative nature.... overall - still beautiful experience!
Very good food, original creative and well cooked.
We went early on Valentine's night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was excellent as was the food. The Hotel Chocolat red wine was really smooth. It is an expensive restaurant but worth it for special occasions.
Great place for a Valentines dinnerware
Valentine’s Day dinner
Visited on valentines lunch. Took a table outside overlooking buzzy borough market. Menu is thoughtful over its use of chocolate and it all works really well. The chateau chocolate wine was a gorgeous atlantejo. Really good. Paid £100 for two including drinks. Service was very good too.
Interesting experience particularly since I have a background in chocolate. However, I think it would be a bit too specialised for most people. Service was a bit condescending and my chicken a bit dry. The Hotel Chocolat red was very good and stood up well to the flavours.
Had a meal here with friends and wasn't sure how this chocolate theme would work but it did! The food was delicious! We had the sharing starter which we liked. Then we shared the beef and lamb. The lamb was a star and I loved the chateaubriand beef - the cocao nib bernaise was devine! However the chocolate ganache was less of a hit.
The reason I removed a star was that we had to wait 30min in between our starter and main on a not so busy night and we ordered what was an expensive bottle of wine but the waiter 'accidentally' bought over the wine which was a little more expensive. We accepted it but it was very cheaky of him to do so.
None of the above is anything that would make me go ballistic and I still loved the food.
A wonderful lunch to celebrate my birthday. The food was very tasty - succulent scallops with parsley foam were my favourite dish. A wonderful surprise was a birthday treat at the end - I won't say what, as that would be a spoiler. The service was top notch and I'd heartily recommend eating here. Look out for the chocolate iguana at the top of the stairs.... amazing!!!
Great food and service, really enjoyed the evening only one very small thing tables are a little to close together so comfort.
We had to have a very early dinner as the only table available for our party of 6 was at 5 pm or 9.30 pm. However we were not hurried with our meal and were able to take our time to chat. Interesting menu with chocolate in almost every dish from starters to dessert, as the restaurant is linked to Hotel Chocolat. We dined on the terrace and although it was a cold evening, the tables were nicely warmed with heater lamps, and blankets were also provided if needed. The staff were helpful and efficient.
Delicious food and unique cocoa takes on classic recipes - seafood bouillabaisse was delicious. Portions are quite small so you do need sides as well but food was worth the price we paid. Staff were friendly and helpful
A fabulous Cacao food experience, flavours are subtle but beautifully put together
Well I have already recommended Rabot 1745 to a number of friends after a lovely meal.
We started with the Fish Beignet and the Pulled Pork Piton, followed by the slow-cooked Hereford beef in red wine and I had the Plancha Seared Cornish hake - simply superb! For dessert we had the BAFTA 2018 chocolate dessert and the Rabot Mousse Seduction - a trio of chocolate three ways. mmmmmm lovely. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back very soon!
Truly delicious food and drink – the rum hot chocolate a lovely hot treat on a cold evening. Sat outside and the heaters kept us warm. The starters were a bit too small and a little bread on the side would have been nice. Overall, as great as we'd expected tho! Cheers.
We ate from the set menu and what we had was "nice" but was far from outstanding. Expected more given the reputation and price point of the restaurant. The BAFTA dessert would not win any awards in my opinion it was fairly bland with no hint of the promised salted caramel, and the food generally failed to deliver on the flavours hinted at on the menu. Having stayed for a week at the St Lucia hotel we were hoping for an evening that would evoke happy memories, however, the restaurant and food generally did little to do this. The exception are the staff and attentive service.
A lovely ambience in this superb little restaurant right in Borough Market. The food was divine, with each course nodding its hat to chocolate. I must say I was wondering how this would be possible with savoury food but it was delightful - and so subtle. Definitely on my ‘to visit again’ list.
The most delicious food we've ever eaten. The cocoa bean gives the food a distinctive flavour.
Really enjoyed the experience wasn't to stuffy but wasn't to casual either really liked the bar down stairs and the staff where all fantastic
Unusual menu with great tasting food.
Exceptionally good, warm, helpful and friendly service.
The downstairs was pretty noisy and busy when we arrived so I was relieved when we were told that our booking was for the restaurant area upstairs. The decor is beautiful, we loved the cacao bean details, and the service was very friendly. We opted for the January set menu as there were so many delicious options on it and it was great value! Every dish we had was exciting, tasty and beautifully plated. We can’t wait to return to try more dishes.
The food is very tasty, the staff are lovely and the restaurant is in a superb location. Great place to spend an afternoon.
Food was really good and the venue itself lovely. However a set menu offer being only available during certain hours was not communicated to us in advance and was hidden low in the description in Opentable. Staff communicated this poorly on arrival - on the verge of rudeness.
Otherwise an enjoyable meal - but unexpectedly a lot more expensive than anticipated.
We went for a friend's Birthday. Will return. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive. Food was excellent, all three courses. Not to mention the cocktails. Definitely one for our special occasion list.
Rabot 1745 was incredible! The element of Cocoa in most dishes was just so interesting. The waiter service was excuisite and the overall experience was perfect for my husband's birthday. I mentioned that it was his birthday and without having to ask they brought his dessert with a big happy birthday written in white chocolate. I would highly recommend it. And my advice is, go hungry because the portions are not small!
Fantastic service, friendly, informative and just the right level of attention. Plates of food looked stunning and tasted lovely. Considering this was a mid-week, catch up with a friend evening, we couldn't have asked for more in terms of the restaurant. Would highly recommend.
Interesting but ultimately great food! The service was hit and miss, but overall definitely a place to try out.
Waiter was really friendly and helpful with choices for desserts. Really enjoyed the whole meal particularly the dessert.
Ambience in the outdoor tables is amazing.
Great experience, friendly and relaxed. Could do with a bit more space for a pre meal drink when busy but minor inconvenience.
Great service with the right balance of attentiveness and privacy whilst we had business discussions. Food was very tasty and portion sizes were appropriate. Will be back.
Excellent food. Lamb with white choc mash was nice.
Great ambience, fab food and service. Presentation of food was awesome.
Excellent food with really unusual menu. Excellent, attentive, friendly service. Overlooking Borough Market so plenty to watch whilst you eat. Unusual list of rums from the bar. Thoroughly recommended.
Situated upstairs over the chocolate shop, which was busier than the restaurant. Borough Market was its usual thriving self. I had the £25 three course menu which I enjoyed, especially the hake which I don't see that often on menus. Service was attentive
Friendly staff, excellent food and drink. The whipped goats cheese starter looked amazing (hubby says it tasted that way too) and the rum-cured salmon was superb. He say the artichoke parcels were excellent, and so was my seared hake. Desserts are always to die, but I'd recommend not driving after the double-shot rum baba!
Fabulous food with unusual ingredients nts, cooked to perfection. Great service, too
My overall assessment of this restaurant is a good place for lunch. Being placed in the busy Borough Market gives it an additional ambience.
The food is satisfactory and even better if you are lucky to visit during a special offer period. This is the second time I’ve taken an overseas visitor and both occasions the service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed.
We enjoyed lunch for 3 on the terrace. We were offered inside or out and elected to go out. It was quite chilly but the heaters were effective. After being there for 2 hours, it would have been preferable to move inside (it is January)! The waiting staff were efficient, polite and friendly. Menu was interesting and had some excellent options which we sampled several of. The veggy starter was suggested to be '2 dishes' but was still consumed. Not cheap, but we are not used to London prices. Did not sample the wines. Would we go again? Yes.
