The Rabot Terrace brings the Saint Lucian party spirit to London this summer! The open-air dining space is a free spirit just like a Saint Lucian ‘jump-up’. A relaxing island get-together for drinks, food and music outdoors after sunset. Please specify a terrace booking in the special request box.
At heart of London’s most exciting food market, Rabot 1745 offers a ‘cacao cuisine’ menu featuring contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with the savoury richness of cacao used as a subtle garnish, infusion and spice throughout.
Rabot 1745 is a unique restaurant and bar, offering innovative cacao cuisine and the polished atmosphere of a Saint Lucian plantation house transported to the heart of London. A true cacao haven, it returns this ancient ingredient to its rightful place as an elegant infusion and subtle spice.View Private Dining Details
Tasty, inventive food, beautifully presented. There was a good range for both the carnivore (my partner) and me. Portions were slightly on the small side, but that left room for dessert which as you'd expect, were chocolatey and delicious. We were delayed and had to call and change the time of our booking which wasn't an issue and service was helpful and polite.
Having booked standard seating we were placed on a table outside anyway, which was wonderful. It was a warm evening, however the terrace was within the market, therefore protected from the wind and the tables had heaters, had it been necessary. Delightful venue and the menu was incredible. Staff very friendly and we had a fabulous evening. Would also be fun to go when the market was open to hear/watch the activity!
Been before and will probably go again. Lovely food and wine along with great service.
A wonderful dining experience with attentive service. The chocolate addition to every meal adds an exotic flavour to the quality selection of food.
The wine list is well thought out to accompany the interesting flavours.
Around £70 A head for 3 courses and wine.
A real treat
An absolute must for real chocolate lovers. Went there with my husband, had 3 courses each and pretty much licked all the plates. The chocolate-rich menu is not just a gimmick, the food was absolutely fantastic! Will definitely return for the winter menu.
Food was excellent! We both had three corses, a bottle of wine and coffee to finish. The service was spot on and the waiter was a credit to Rabot. Had a nice seat looking towards the Shard although we had the choice to sit on the terrace overlooking Borough Market.
This is my second visit. Love the food as the blend of flavours is very pleasing. Came after a visit to the theatre and everyone had a meal they enjoyed, catered well for the vegetarian in our group. We were able to chat as the noise level was not too high. Easy location and a good night out.
Amazing food and great service in an exciting place. Will definitely visit again and recommend family and friends to try it out as well.
Very expensive for chateaubriand which is usually a large piece of beef. Not so here. More like an appartmentbriand
Otherwise good but too pricey with 12.5% service on top
Food was outstanding and served with efficiency and friendliness. Could not fault any aspect of this experience.
Really great place for brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and/or a celebration. The staff couldn’t have been mire friendly and helpful, the food was all exquisite and the ambience around the bustling market was great. Only the frequent thunder of trains was annoying but given the location is practically on London Bridge platforms, there’s nothing can be done about that if you’re dining on the outside deck
We had a really good dinner at Rabot 1745. The menu was interesting, the server what charming, with a playful attitude but good opinions about the choices on the menu. And Borough Market just has a good vibe.
Booked table for my manger & his guest, they both really enjoyed their meal
First time visiting this restaurant, but most certainly not the last. Fantastic food throughout our meal and a good atmosphere even though it was a week night and not full. Very much enjoyed and look forward to coming back soon.
Great food and great service! Will definitely return!
Quality has definitely taken a back seat at Rabot lately. We ordered the chateaubriand, it was under cooked and under seasoned. The sides that accompanied it weren’t well suited to the meat.
Overall disappointing visit and £160 wasted on my opinion.
The food, the service were excellent. The menu is very creative and the addition of cacao in many of the dishes is extremely well executed. The only down side was the noise level on the terrace from the street cleaners in action after the market closes, not to the point where you want to go inside but still a bit annoying. We would have given a perfect score if not for that
I had heard about Rabot 1745 via the St Lucia episode of Ainsley Harriott's Caribbean Kitchen series and was inspired by the programme to seek out the London restaurant. I thought it would suit a special occasion and when our wedding anniversary and our daughter's exam success coincided, we decided that this was the ideal time. Rabot 1745 most definitely rose to the occasion, providing a lovely setting for a family meal, photos and a lovely surprise recognition of our celebrations at dessert time! The waiter service was second to none, being particularly attentive with regard to food allergies, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The music, while entertaining, was at a level low enough not to hinder conversation in any way. We will definitely recommend Rabot 1745 to friends and family and fully intend to return soon!
The food was good but for the price you pay the ambience and service was not up to scratch.
Seated on the balcony over Borough Market, the afternoon service was relaxed and we didn't feel at all rushed. A server for who nothing was too much trouble - he even offered to pop downstairs to get me something not on the menu ... and did! The food was great and we only managed starters they were so filling. I had the Yorkshire pudding with white chocolate mash , slice of juicy steak, gravy and chocolate nibs. Thought I would breeze through that and head for dessert but just couldn't. Constant iced water with smiles and no asking. With the bill came some free chocs. Would definitely return. A lovely lunch time treat.
Over rated and tiny portions. I feel that instead of just keeping the food simple they tried too hard with experimenting to many flavours in a dish and trying to compete with high end dining which this place is definitely not. The starter consisted of three scallops that where a size a grape and I have never seen such a a small portions and I have been too a few Michelin starred restaurants. The mains where very average and definitely no worth the price. My wife left half of mains as she not enjoy any of the food. The service was great no problems and felt bad for the waiter as we felt really let down by the food. Over priced and small portions ended up at another restaurant later that evening.
They did not have our favourite wine or vodka. So not that great
My boyfriend and I had an amazing lunch on Saturday afternoon. We shared the chateaubriand, it was absolutely remarkable. We wouldn’t hesitate about coming back again.
Great food and service. Noisy due to outside table but didn't spoil the meal. We had dishes from the menu (not afternoon tea) which were fantastic. Loved the yorkshire pud starter and the avant garden. Looking forward to returning.
The menu offered a really nice change, we loved trying something different! The food was cooked perfectly and the service was very attentive. Set in a lovely location too. The only downside is when the bill comes, the credit card came in very handy! We let them know it was for a birthday and they made a special effort at desert to recognise this.
Very tasty food, great menu and lovely staff. Thank you!
Had the tartar, lobster and molten lava.
Food all very good, good service and relaxed atmosphere.
The food was amazing and the presentation of the food was excellent. I was unsure if I would like the different flavours combined with chocolate but I have to say it was delicious. The service by staff was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble, it was my daughters birthday and they brought out a ‘happy birthday’ of chocolate on a board, very attentive and for that I would definitely recommend and come again!
Once again, a very good meal and a genuine 'occasion'. Food and cocktails were excellent and it made a great celebration for my daughter's success with her A-levels. Outstanding service and great ambience.
Fantastic service and food worthy of eating! Thoroughly recommend the Yorkshire pudding for starter and anything for main with a side of white chocolate mash - it works!! Our waiter was superb, even gave our daughter a box of Hotel Chocolat chocs for her birthday! Will definitely return each trip to London!
Had to book a few weeks ahead to get a table that worked for me, so was a little surprised that it was so quiet (although it was a Wednesday). Great service interesting menu.
Always a reliable choice of venue to take visiting guests. Relaxed feel and great food. The pesto with the bread for starters was amazing and salt crusted lamb is my favourite to date. Service was well-timed and really friendly, wines were affordable and they went out of their way to make my mum and dad feel very special on their anniversary. Thanks to Pavel !!
Mrs really enjoyed herself, services was fantastic and sitting above Borough Market is always a pleasure.
A very different afternoon tea experienced to the very samey afternoon teas you get in the hotels
Service was great
Located within the bustle of borough market though trains going by can be irritating
Excellent food & great service.....up until the 45min wait for dessert and then another 20mins waiting for the bill.
We had a red letter day experience - three courses from a wide and varied set menu. The food was amazing - different, tasty and beautifully presented. We had great service from all the staff and our waiter in particular was very attentive and ensured that we were well looked after. We sat on the first floor open terrace overlooking the market - a great setting and a little different. Would thoroughly recommend.
Had the 3 course set lunch, food was amazing, great service and would highly recommend hotel rabot.
Nice to try somewhere different, food was nice but expensive for what you receive. Staff lovely.
Food was outstanding and very original
Borough market was in the process of clearing away at the time so ambience was unfortunately not great but at any other time it day, we dined late on a Saturday evening, I have no doubt it would be lovely. Staff were very professional and courteous. Would definitely return as we didn’t get close to trying everything we wanted on the menu.
The food was beautifully presented and delicious, service was excellent and the attention to detail was without fault. We had enjoyed the buzz of Borough Market prior to sitting down to eat but unfortunately we chose to eat on the terrace where the road sweeper continued to very noisily clean the area underneath where we were seated for what seemed like an age! We would certainly recomend this restaurant for a very different dining experience - we loved it!
