What Insiders Are Saying
Depending on how much you enjoy porn star martinis, you’ll either love or hate Radio, the rooftop bar and lounge in the ME London hotel on the Strand.
Had to wait pretty long for drinks. it's told that there is dresscode but most of guests didn't follow it (sports shoes)
Horrible experience, went there for pre birthday drinks, staff moaned about us wanting a better table as the one I pre booked wasnt available, the table we moved to was dirty and took them forever to clean it. Service was terrible, had to keep asking for them to come over, wont be going back and definitely wouldn't recommend it
Arrived on time and shown to our ‘table’ which was a wonky dirty table however great views of the city. Drink service was ok however the food wasn’t. Small in portions lacking in deprh. Had to ask 3 times to 3 different staff for our food. Got handed a complimentary spicy peas which was random and we left that. The dj was appalling not sure the level of music of techno was appropriate for 8pm. A 12.5% service charge was a joke which we got taken off the bill. All in all wasn’t great and won’t be rushing back.
Considering it was booked for a special occasion, I didn’t feel like the birthday girl at all.
I do believe the venue reached full capacity where by staff were unable to cater and tend to everyone’s needs.
My usual journey to the venue takes only 30 minutes, on this day, where it was fantastic weather, I understand why there may have been traffic - with this being said I had let the restaurant know.
I arrived at precisely 12 minutes after my reservation.
It was explained that a 15 minute lenience is given if guests are ever late.
Given that the restaurant was busy there was a line entering the venue, by this time I had called the lady at the door shortly after 3:15 explaining, I’m waiting downstairs to gain access to the restaurant. It was explained to me that my table had been given away.
My friend kindly stressed to a co ordinator, that it was my birthday and my booking had been cancelled seconds before we had managed to get up to the bar. The co ordinator understood and uncanceled the booking but said I no longer would get a table outside.
I agreed, and got placed at a nice-ish table, inside.
I felt as though I was unfairly treated and on such a nice day, I’ve had to spend it inside whilst someone else had been given my table.
In addition to this I understood it was busy and the waitresses found it difficult to dedicate their time to individual guests, but it shouldn’t have taken 30 minutes to seek someone’s attention to make our first order. After then, it still posed as an issue to make orders.
Again, this was not birthday treatment what so ever.
It being my birthday I had mad ample effort to be there on time, and a lot of effort to orchestrate a nice afternoon for myself and my friends.
I would’ve preferred going else where for my birthday celebration, and don’t think I will be returning back.
Never received our food after waiting over an hour. No one offered us drinks or told us what the delay was about. Not worth the hype. There are better places
Fabulous view, great ambience but sadly service was really quite poor, waited an hour for our main course to arrive which in the end wasn't charged but there seemed to be a lack of organisation there, when asking for a drink, sorry I can't serve you you are being looked after by someone else!
I will go back as fortunately we were in no rush.
We were early, they gave a table in the bar, when it was time for our booking they told me they didn’t have a table, we finally got our meal, 50 minutes after the time of the reservation.
We brought friends down from the Midlands to have a chilled evening at Radio Rooftop with its great views & cool atmosphere. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere or the views but the service was appalling! Took 30 mins to order, nearly an hour to our first drink & 2 hours to get our food, which came cold & congealed. The waiter, to be fair, kept giving us complimentary drinks & in the end didn’t charge for the good, but it wasn’t good enough for such a prestige venue.
Great view, terrible service! Otherwise it had a lovely ambience and was an enjoyable evening.
Unhelpful staff was sat at a table inbetween two tables and then was made to feel awkward for asking to be moved.
The service was not to the level I would expect in a bar of that quality, very poor.
Wonderful view! Lovely helpful staff. Food ok.
I thought the food was lovely but a shame they were sharing plates. Not enough food for the price. A proper menu alongside the "bar" menu would be a good option.
Atmosphere was great, would have preferred to have been in seated indoors for dinner.
We booked online which was really easy and were kept up to date until the booking. Once we arrived we were reminded that our table was only for 1 and a half hours. We ordered drinks expecting our order for food to be taken, the drinks arrived about quarter of an hour later. Almost an hour into our booking we had to call a waiter over to take our food order, he then got someone else to talk to us about extending our booking. By this time, we were a bit annoyed not only had they not took a food order, but we had only been served one drink. We refused to extend our time there and the food came quite quickly after that. The food was lovely, although not a meal do not go for food if you are hungry, probably more of a drinking place (if you can get served!). You must also spend £50 per person, which would have proved difficult if we had only been drinking as the service was so slow. It was an experience but one I will not be repeating.
I had a booking for 7.15pm and the hostess said I had the table for 90mins, after the 90mins was over and spending £95 per person the manager told us too leave and gave no explanation. I was told before hand via a telephone conversation that after my 90mins on the table was up me and the rest of my party would have access too the bar but apparently this wasn’t the case. The manager told me to check my email and said that this was the terms and conditions and I did and after contesting this we was literally thrown out by bouncers. No such thing was said in my booking confirmation and if you have been here before and booked via opentable you would know this. Furthermore the food and service was diabolical too add insult too injury. I will never advise anyone too attend this shambles of a venue nor would I ever return. I’m seriously considering legal action after the way I was treated
We try & pick somewhere nice for breakfast for our get together, me & my friends live @ various locations around the country & try & meet up 4 times a year.
The breakfast tea yesterday was probably the worst I have ever tasted, utter dishwater
Not particularly happy about a servant. The table location was next to waiter's stand. We were not allowed to move to another table location even tho there was a lot of free unreserved and not occupied tables. Not going to mention that waiter has smashed a glass on the floor by our foot. Accidents happen and luckily, no one got hurt. In the back on the balcony there was a private party, fair enough but I was only trying to take a view of London photo, Mr Rude security guard.
Very nice rooftop bar but a little dissapointed with the service.
Beautifully decorated but don’t bother there is other bars and restaurants in London with just as nice interior and far better service. We were greeted by a friendly host and shown to a table directly next to the DJ booth which was too loud as we were dining so we asked to move seat, which they kindly granted. We instead got a table outside which was very low with couches so not ideal for eating but it was a nicer atmosphere so it was ok. The view was horrendous - shouldn’t really call themselves a rooftop bar because you can’t see anything. Also was asked for a card to start the tab - I had no issue in doing so but was quite abrupt the way this was asked for, there are so many security guards and memebers of staff didn’t really feel necessary to hand over the card and I’ve never been asked for this before when dining or drinking in London. Wouldn’t recommend when there are so many other options.
My wife and I went to Radio 3 years ago and thought we would try it again for our anniversary. It is a shocking place. 1) chairs and tables are old, 2) music is so loud you cannot speak to each other, 3) seating is extremely uncomfortable! Starbucks is better!
We lasted 5min and walked out. Will never go back!
Took my 2 Goddaughters for a surprise before going to the Theatre. Staff so welcoming and food superb. Highly recommend for a lunch time visit with superb views over London
Fun and a great view
Catch up with friends
Yes, it is an excellent place to meet friends. One of the best I have been to.
The customer service in this place it’s always outstanding. I work in a customer sevices environment and I know what good customer service feels like. The staff it’s always presentable and very amable. The music it’s so good as well. The night we went there was a dj playing. A very different place to enjoy a glass of wine with your loved one.
too loud and inappropriate language, smoking allowed too near dining area
I had a really bad experience due to being put on a really bad table where eating food didn’t seem to be an option but I had booked a table for dinner with a view. I finally got another table but the service wasn’t good, we had to keep asking for service no one would come to our table and it was really frustrating.
Although a really cool place and great cocktails, because we reserved a table we had a minimum spend - this was pricey but we didn't mind because it was for a birthday. But when we got there we had this horrible tiny cramped table and it probably took about half an hour before we received our drinks. We were really pushy about it and ended up getting a great spot outside, where there was a much better waitress. The general attitude of the staff, bar the final waitress, was really inattentive and we were not made to feel looked after at all.
We were placed on the terrace which was very lucky. However, it was freezing and the roof was open. We sat wrapped in blankets but one diner complained and it was closed. The heat lamps helped but we still sat all wrapped up. I ordered chicken and chorizo for main but it was just a bowl of boiled chicken in butter beans. Not a single bit of chorizo. Was very disappointed really. The service was very slow even though it wasn’t particularly busy.
On a good note, the views were stunning and drinks went down well. I don’t think I would eat there again but I would definitely go for drinks on a warm day.
Value for money: expected more of an ambiance.
Its started to rain and they decided to open roof top and then closed it after complaints.
The view was appalling.
Food ok ish
Service not to bad
We had a nice experience but was disappointed that the menu was limited as we went on a Saturday lunchtime. It was directed to the drink menu, more than the food. We went for a special occasion and was slightly disappointed.
Took my partner here for a birthday lunch. We were impressed with the decor and design of the place but that was pretty much it. The service was very slow and the food quality was mediocre. They had a DJ playing music to I guess try and give the place some atmosphere but it was so loud that most people had to shout at each other to vaguely understand what others were saying. The views of London are magnificent though and that was honestly the highlight for us. We won’t be going back again. It’s really disappointing because it’s not a cheap place to eat and drink. In terms of value, don’t waste your money - there are much better places in the same area that gives you a lot more value for your money.
Service was slow at beginning and arrived before others who got served before us didn’t make it feel very special at the beginning. Also tables very close to each other when there as a two.
Staff were amazing and very helpful, drinks and food were brilliant! Would 100% go back, was lovely atmosphere and would recommend to anyone!
It was an amazing experience but indoors it was too loud for a bar
Fabulous views, great service with delicious food and amazing cocktails had a great afternoon thank you😁👍
Business dinner meeting.
The service was fantastic, ideally wanted to sit on the terrace but weather didn’t permit us too but nevertheless inside has a lovely warm atmosphere just that the music was a tad too loud for conversation.
While the majority of the good was ok the broccoli salad was a little bland and had no flavour to it, the calamari were really good alongside the sea bass ceviche.
Overall a nice evening.
First visit. Was impressed. Next time in London will go again!!
A place not to be missed
Great service and great atmosphere
Good view, but most of the tables are inside so you can't see much. Drinks are small and expensive with lots of ice. Service was alright, definitely better rooftop bars in London to go to.
