What Insiders Are Saying
Depending on how much you enjoy porn star martinis, you’ll either love or hate Radio, the rooftop bar and lounge in the ME London hotel on the Strand.
This isn't our first time visiting the Radio Rooftop Bar and most definitely wont be our last. Another great evening with a lovely atmosphere.
Staff were a bunch of posers. Awful service. Will recommend people not to go here. Thanksss
Couldn’t recommend more highly
The main attraction is the location, with great views. The food was distinctly average at best. Limited menu, and pretty boring food, cooked not particularly well, and overpriced. (Single half-fillet of sea bass, with some dry cous cous and fishy broccoli; few very plain bits of lamb for the skewers and some limp and greasy fries). It’s passable but if it wasn’t on a rooftop it would be empty.
i would recommend for the views, although we were originally given an inside table. I asked the manger and he kindly sorted us with a better table.
We then had a long wait to order drinks but again the manager came to the rescue and chased so we could order etc.
We came for Friday lunch which probably doesn't play to the venues strengths but overall food was a good standard
I would still recommend Radio Rooftop purely because of the ambience. Unfortunately we found the service very poor and had to point out that we had been seated and then ignored by all waiting staff. From then on we had to catch the eye of any waiter if we wanted to order. As for good value for money for food I feel you are paying way over because of where you are and the quality was not as good as you might expect. But saying that I would return (maybe not to eat) because of the vibe.
Put us in a rubbish spot even though had booked. Service was awful and food wasn’t great either. View and drinks were nice though. Not what I was expecting
I would recommend because the places just suits any type of occasion, I wanted to do something nice for someone and take them out but I wasn’t too sure about the place until I actually got there and it met and maybe even surpassed my expectation. The only issue I had was that I wish I could’ve stayed longer.
Really slow service - waiting and hour and 14 mins for main course.
Would have been nice to have some lunch time music
Took around 40 minutes for food to come around but it was well worth it delicious, overall impressed little bit gutted i wasn't able to get the lobster sandwich but next time its a must try.
Without doubt the most disappointing venue in London. Staff absent., Food average, dress code laughable. If I could give 0 stars I would
We ordered the lobster sandwich and it was hardly any lobster in the sandwich, felt like we were just having a plain sandwich
The staff is very friendly but this time the service was slower than my last visit. However, We enjoyed the experience. Jesica was very professional, she apologised for the inconvenience and really that makes her a good asset for that place. We will come back
We booked radio rooftop for a special occasion and went for breakfast. When we arrived the lift was not working but luckily a member of staff who was walking by sorted it out to get us up to the restaurant. On arrival it was a besutiful setting but initially slow reception. We were seen to a fantastic table with views outside but as it was so hot and sunny I requested if we could sit inside. After being told we could the member of staff left us stood in the restaurant until we asked another staff member for a table. It was not really busy and there were a lot of staff about. We ordered our breakfast and when it arrived it was over cooked and cold. We informed the staff and they sorted the problem straight away and they apologised. It was a fabulous setting, a slight let down for my birthday and the service was mixed. I would like to go again one day as I would hope this must be usual .
This has turned more into a restaurant hangout as opposed to the trendy bar it used to be. Went there Friday night for drinks and a buzzing atmosphere but I felt it lacked that. Much more quieter these days compared to when I last went a couple of years ago. My rating is based on guys going on a night out. For a romantic dinner with the other half I would have scored higher
Great location- waiting around seated at a table to have 6 servers walk by my table and then finally I approached a server... when I asked about a server, and to get a drink I felt like it was an inconvenience for the server. I requested to sit outside- I was told my reservation was not till 6- I got there 4.30- location was empty. Left a sour taste in my mouth.
The place itself looks lovely, amazing views of the city but that’s where it ends. Service was very slow, we waited for at least 10-15 mins for someone to take our drinks order and then another 15 mins for the drinks to arrive. It took ages to order food and nearly an hour before it arrived. We had few raw pieces of chicken which were replaced and we got an apology and free desserts which was a really nice touch but we barely finished our mains and the hostess informed us we have to give back our table because it’s booked for someone else. Which again is understandable if you don’t have to wait half hour for drinks and hour for food. Maybe they are biting more than they can chew. The food was lovely and cocktails very interesting but it just wasn’t worth the money spent. Quite a shame as we were really excited to hold our business lunch there.
I went there at 8:00am midweek for breakfast. Pleasant environemnt an not busy that day at that time.
Rushed away from the table at the rooftop to sit inside and then when we were not finished we were rudely rushed out by being asked “do you need help paying the bill or are you okay?”. We were clearly not finished and had spent plenty. Poor behaviour.
So relaxing, the atmosphere is amazing, views are incredible, highly recommend.
Great service from the team all round. Loved the view
Lovely place and the staff were very friendly they couldn’t do enough for us would definitely recommend.
Very small main course of Caesar Salad which was dry due to lack of dressing and the rib eye was a poor cut of meat which was quite chewy and very small. I would only return for the view unfortunately.
Amazing food and excellent service!!. Will go back soon !!
We absolutely loved it!!! The view was amazing, the drinks superb quality and the decoration just fabulous!!
Nice rooftop bar but quite overpriced for what it is
Great location and food. The service would of been 5 stars if only staff followed through with promises. On arrival there was no seating outside left even though we booked and we were promised to be moved outside when a table became free. This did not happen and seating was giving away to customers who had just arrived.
The staff were lovely and accommodating at all points of the evening.
The table was nice and outside but didn’t provide the best view. It would be helpful if there was a note on the website, or through 3rd party booking systems, that you should request a table with a specific view point if desired.
Both my girlfriend and I ordered the Steak with red wine jus and bernaise sauce. Whilst the bernaise sauce was good, the red wine jus was very ‘liquidy’. The steak was also luke-warm - not hot at all!
Noise level was not great due to other drunk diners, but appreciate this can only be controlled so much.
When I arrived at downstairs door they said my table had already been checked in? I was 5 mins early so nobody go understand to why I was already checked in. Then upstairs I was given a small bench with a bistro table for 3 of us to sit around for food? we asked for another table the waitress (bright red lipstick long dark hair) was most unhelpful not interested at all quiet rude and sulky to be honest.
Eventually we moved our self when we complained to the manager of bad staff - he was most helpful and found us a suitable table to eat a meal at also gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco.
Would I go again NO
What a disappointment! Staff were unbelievably rude. Service was disgraceful from the minute we walked in. 20 minutes to get a bottle of beer?! To the point that we actually had to go and interrupt the waiter from cleaning tables to remind him. Our bottle of wine was served warm and poured into the glasses - not even a courtesy to allow one of us to taste it. I expected so much better and had heard great reviews. There is a minimum spend of £50 per head when booking a reservation and you only get allocated the table for 1.5hours. Given how long it took to get drinks they made it extremely difficult to spend this! We had to continually chase members of staff. Won’t be back and I wouldn’t waste your time or money....Head to Madison as it’s the same sort of vibe and much more friendly/good vibe.
Do not waste your time or money, had to chase drinks orders several times. Ordered nuts and olives to have with our drinks before our food arrived and after 50 minutes we still had no nuts or olives! Burger arrived after 50 mins and was tasty but you can get much better service elsewhere!
Nice place for a drink or a brunch. We took brunch and the "go bottomless", but the serving was not very quick. The food and the drinks was excellent. I loved the pink grapefruit.
Sadly disappointing considering this is our 3rd visit (this time for my daughters 21st pre-theatre brunch).
We had two chipped glasses, which were taken away without an apology. Service was slow, we had to wait 40 minutes for a bottle of water, then had to cancel because we were out of time (at this point the glasses for water had still not arrived). When the bill came we had to ask them to remove the bottle off the bill as we most definitely had not had the opportunity to drink it, which made us have to rush for our theatre booking. Very sad as prior to this I would say I would recommend this venue but based on this last experience we are unlikely to return again.
When they bring the order, it was incomplete at the start; we waited a long time for it to be complete.
Also, I specified when I made the reservation that I wanted candles for my husband’s birthday, but there was none.
Service was terrible even though it wasn't very busy, I was waiting for a good 15minutes before someone offered me a drinks menu.
Otherwise the atmosphere was good!
Food is not tasty.
At £15 a cocktail you would think they would be freshly made but it’s not. Some of the wait staff don’t actually know the menu very well. We ordered the Mexican platter which was disgusting. The chicken was so dry we nearly choked on it. The guacamole is that stuff you get on the supermarket shelves that doesn’t need to be refrigerated. Absolute shambles and to book the table they wanted to charger £50 a head. I ended up complaining to the manager and walking out.
I booked a table here for a special occasion and wished I had never bothered. Food was inedible, sharing platers costing almost £30 with hardly any food on them, and what was there was reheated, grey & revolting slop. Nachos were smashed up and broken, more like Doritos, guacamole out of a packet, chicken skewers were chewy and overcooked. Cocktails were £15 and the glass literally half full. When queried with the wait staff they were surly and rude, demanding payment for a tab, virtually snatched my card off me, and just walked off into the crowd with it, without giving me a key immediately. There were no tables available outside apparently, but seemed to be quite a few tables for a while with no one actually sitting around them. Just because it has 'mediocre' view of London, they think they can charge obscene prices and get away with terrible customer service. Simply don't bother wasting your time or money going to this pretentious, third rate establishment.
