What Insiders Are Saying
Depending on how much you enjoy porn star martinis, you’ll either love or hate Radio, the rooftop bar and lounge in the ME London hotel on the Strand.
Ambiance great, food and service poor
The venue and seating is lovely. It wasn’t too busy on a Monday which was nice.
There was a delay in getting our orders, however the bar staff were super friendly which made the evening better!
The food was very poor, not the first time I’ve tried it. No taste, very bland, wouldn’t eat there again.
Top shelf on the coffee and the food was very good. We were very early risers and it was nice.
Brilliant atmosphere and vibe, definitely a great spot for views!
Lovely bar. Service was very slow. Need more staff for weekend service. Drinks good value. Didn’t try the food, hence 1 star. But your going to a bar to drink, so nibbles here then food somewhere else I assume.
Overall a perfect place for drinks on a lovely day.
Great venue and atmosphere but be aware of the fact they ask for gratuities on bill but there is already a service charge added. I ended up giving a “good” tip due to me not being made aware.
Comida ok. Nada impactanta. Es para buena onda, musica y tragos. El mozo Michel excelente
We booked using OpenTable which is linked on Radio Rooftops website. We originally booked for afternoon tea service. When we arrived they said that you have to specify that you want afternoon tea when you book. However, there is not an option to do that on OpenTable, nor are there any instructions about this in the "things you need to know section" or on the tea menu. I double checked after. This was our first time doing afternoon tea so if it is standard practice to make sure they know in advance, I didn't know. Thankfully they had prepared a few extras and we still got to have the tea. This was very nice of them. The food was good, service was slow but it was very busy.
Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere, stunning views and fabulous weather!
I would recommend as it has a great atmosphere and the views are great. Although the music was very loud on Thursday night early evening and I couldn't talk to the whole of my party. And also the service was a little slow on the drinks.
Staff were lovely however no atmosphere, not even any music playing.
Ordered the Indian sharer which was very overpriced for the small portion we got.
12.5% service charge meant a light lunch with 2 drinks each cost over £110! Not the afternoon I was expecting when I booked what looked like a lovely restaurant online
Great place to have a nice dinner, fantastic views! It’s a little pricey but overall worth it.
Highly recommended! Great venue, great service, will definitely be back!
Lovely stay, get cocktails and rose in a funky bottle. Staff are all smiley, warm and helpful. And obviously that view is WOW
For a brunch location, over cooked poached eggs were not what you would expect. They replaced quickly and gave us free drinks to compensate. The Sunday roast was duck. It was over cooked too and didn't come with typical roast trimmings. Views over London are great but if you like good food as well as drinks, this is not your place.
Not a good experience for us unfortunately. I went with my wife after booking a table a couple of weeks in advance. We probably should have chosen a different time and different weather. At 3pm the place seemed mainly to be full of drinkers, so the atmosphere wasn’t really suitable for eating. It has started to rain so the outside seating area was covered with a canopy and plastic screens, unfortunately this meant the noise from the drinkers was even louder. The brunch menu was limited with maybe 7 or 8 options and none of those looked that substantial apart from a burger. We were also sat for 5-10 minutes without anyone coming over to ask us about drinks. Given all that we decided to leave before ordering anything and find somewhere else. Again, time of day and weather weren’t conducive to a calm meal but service and brunch options could have been better.
Great location, good vibe and the perfect place for a special celebration. Prices are steep, even for drinking champagne, but I guess you pay for the location. However, would totally recommend.
Very poor table service and I did not receive the requests I asked for upon arrival which I was disappointed about as it was booked for a special occasion.
It was great but the noise was a little bit too high so you could jot hear each other
The food was bland, the chicken satay and beef sliders were very dry.
Food over priced. Bad experience for a birthday treat.
Lovely and attentive staff to my food allergy requirements
I don’t recommend because of waiters. We have booked a table with a view 2months ago. Once arrived, they said that no place is available outside and propose to wait (even if we saw some empty places in the balcony). They gave places to other people arrived after us and they finally told us that there will be no empty places outside.
Nice place to catch up with friends to a cocktail or maybe two. Beautiful view and atmosphere. Great service. The small plates - a version of salmon and cream cheese sushi - I didi’t like.
Our visit started off with a few hiccups. I booked for 8 of us hoping to have afternoon tea. Prior to the visit I checked twice whether or not I needed to inform them that we were hoping to have afternoon tea and on each occasion I was told it would be fine to inform them on the day. At first when we arrived we were told there was no way to accommodate afternoon tea for 8 people, however, as we were waiting in the lobby trying to figure out where else to go we were informed they had a cancellation and could then accommodate us.
Overall the service once we sat down was amazing and the food was also really good, not to mention the table they had reserved for us was outdoors but a little private which was really nice!
So all in all what could have been a really bad experience turned out okay in the end. I do think that they need to make it clear when booking that you must let them know what you plan to order in advance.
To have a drink the area we sat in was far to cramped with low tables to eat from. Not very comfortable. Service was good but drinks expensive
DO NOT EAT there!!! It is horrible! We ordered steak (23 gbp, dearest item on menu) and what we got was not even near the real steak. Some piece of meat with lots of grease, fries which were reheated and ... ketchup!! Yes, ketchup! No presentation, no mushrooms, no salad - nothing. The taste was terrible. I felt sick of all grease afterwards. If you are coming just for drink (by the way, they did not had aperol) that is fine. The views are beautiful, atmosphere was lovely. But, do not eat there! No way!
Lovely venue and superb cocktails at an affordable price
The staff and service was impeccable and we had a perfect table overlooking the Thames and Somerset house
It was such a shame that I had pre-booked a table at the rooftop bar for my 30th birthday and on arrival we were put inside at the back of the bar and not on the rooftop. We decided to not stay for dinner or drinks as we could have been in any bar on a high floor. I think there should be some sort of communication noting that to book a table on the rooftop further information/requests are required as we had planned our day around going here and was therefore very disappointed when Seated.
Seems to have lost its edge , used to be very much a bar first before food. However it’s now more of a lounge vibe with food being key, however with music blasting like it’s a lively bar you don’t get the atmosphere to chat and talk over some food.
Think they need to get a clear direction on what they want
Underwhelming. It was OK, really, nothing to really complain about, Waiters were nice and friendly, but in all honesty for what we paid it was just average.
We all ate from the brunch menu and had the champagne 1.5 hours bottomless extra. I have some allergies and they were very happy to cater for them.
The waitress were in general a bit rude.
the atmosphere is nice and the music is in the right level.
Nice place with awesome views of London, servive was good but too pricey
I have been here many times ad will not be returning, The service was terrible, very slow and staff seem v unhappy, Also somebody put there chewing gum under their seat, So sat down got it over my outfit and the server could not have cared less.... Honestly Awful would not return and would recommend anyone else to either
The view was great and the ambience . Food could have been better
Made booking for Afternoon tea for 3 people. 1 of which has a citrus allergy. I noted this when I made the booking and phoned the day before to reconfirm they were aware and could cater for it. When we arrived, no one seemed to know what we were there for and it was almost an hour before we got any food, but no tea (had to ask for that afterwards). The allergy was completely ignored but as almost all the sweet items on the menu had citrus in (hence why I phoned the day before to check this wouldn’t be a problem) no alternative was provided. Several members of staff came across but no one fully understood and despite at first 2 waiters on several occasions confirming there was no citrus in anything (the menu said different!), they eventually (after another 30 mins) bought out one alternative as they were incorrect and one item apparently did have citrus, but they continued to say there was no more citrus in anything else. A little while later another member of staff came across to say that all but one of the sweet items had citrus (it eventually turned out they all did!). So having waited almost 1.30 to be able to actually start our food one guest couldn’t have half of it. There was no care whatsoever to the issue, service was slow and we had to constantly keep asking for spoons, milk, even the tea! The location was great and the actual bar and outside seating area was lovely and comfortable but the whole experience was ruined by the lack of care and complete irrelevance of what could have been a serious issue. The food when it eventually came was nice. It was a real shame as it could have been a great afternoon. Disappointing.
Sadly, Radio Rooftop was a huge disappointment. We did our table-reservation from Sweden for an after-theatre dinner in the restaurant at 22.45. We arrived promptly and was given an empty table in the bar, which was empty otherwise. The restaurant was full and we got the explanation: "First come - first served."
Then why the time-booking? We left and did find an other restaurant where we was welcomed shorty after 23.00. in the evening.
Loved it! Beautiful staff, lovely service. Everyone were really lovely and friendly. Will definitely book again!
Great place for drinks but food is just okay service was excellent
I was really excited to go to the radio roof top bar for a special occasion. I was really disappointed by the slow service which I could understand if it was busy but it wasn’t. The cocktails took about 40 minutes to arrive! We also asked for still water and the waiter offered to have it with ice and lemon but only water came. I had emailed ahead to organise a dessert plate for my friend which didn’t come.
I think overall the small things were missed and the service just wasn’t there for a venue which you would expect to have a high level of service.
We also felt the music was overpowering for the room and just couldn’t hear each other.
I would only suggest a visit if you don’t enjoy the company of who you’re going with and want to be there all day waiting for a drink.
