Love the food here and the service is always great!
Our experience was great! Staff is amazing and food was delicious. Only thing I wish was different is that they had their regular menu on Valentine’s Day. They had a special menu which was good but only 2 choices under $30 and you could only order from the special menu. Food was still delicious as always!!
Spent Valentines dinner at this downtown Westminster delight and had a wonderful time. My wife and I have lived in Westminster for four years and have never tried Rafael’s and were wonderfully surprised.
The restaurant was clean and well decorated. The tables provided plenty of room for the three of us and the tables were decorated nicely with tablecloths.
For such a busy night the waitress was very attentive provided exceptional service.
The food was delicious and for me one of the best deals in town. I recommend the prime rib!
We will be back soon!
The food was great our waitress serenity was excellent charming and friendly . Would Recommend!
We booked online via OpenTable and received a confirmation, however the hostess was not given the information, and did not have it in her logbook. Fortunately, there were tables available. The food and the service were great. Definitely will visit again.
Great place for lunch!
I love the homemade chips.
Our waitress was the best.
We had reservations to meet our friends for dinner. We were seated in the bar. We questioned why we were not seated in the dining room and were told there was a private party in the dining room. The bar was extremely noisy and we would not be able to talk above the noise. So we left. Would not have made reservations to sit in the bar. Think Rafels should have called us to tell us the dining room was booked
The food quality is good. The speed of service was horrendous. We were sat at 530pm and finally out at 7:15. There was three of us and we ordered three cold sandwiches.
Have eaten there a number of times and have always found things very nice if a little pricey. Have even given gift certificates for Xmas. Lunch menu lacked anything of interest. Had to have a burger. It was made with meat loaf mix and I couldn't finish it. Was seated in the bar and was noisy. Waitress was attentive but soup, salad and a burger took a long time to come. Will probably not go back.
Always quick and always good. We eat here often and have never been disappointed
Food was awful. All 4 dinners were ok at best. If we go back we will stick with burgers. Forgot our salads and then brought them half way through dinner. Waitress did the best she could and manager comped a small portion but something was night right when she came out shortly after our orders were taken to apologize for the wait. Best part of the meal were the beverages
This is one of our neighborhood gems. We always get in right away and the food is always Devine.
Pleasant service and nicely prepared food on our first visit, prior to a show.
We arrived and Rafael’s did not have our reservation, even though I received text and email confirmations from Open Table. They were able to seat us. The server was very nice. However, food delivery was slow. Our salads were not served until after our main meal and not until our server was reminded that we had not received our salads. Other than that the food was good.
Great outdoor deck. Lost our waitress...
Thank you so much for your review and feedback. We are so sorry to hear that your server did not return. We will be addressing this issue and we hope that this doesn't keep you from returning.
Excellent meal. Starters were the stuffed pizza - it can feed 4 people for a taste and its worth it. The stuffed zucchini blossoms delicately fried with sliced zucchini. Main courses were fish special of black sea bass and bronzini. Both were nicely prepared but the sea bass was excellent. Wines are diverse, not the usual list of California standbys. Be adventurous and get a bottle of Italian wine. We will return.
Food is always great here. Employees are friendly. But service is always extremely slow. Need more wait staff.
Always enjoy an evening meal here. Very relaxing atmosphere in the dining room and tasty food as well.
When we arrived they didn't have our reservation. The hostess said that Open Table reservations were often lost and I should call instead. They had a table and we were seated, but it wasn't a good beginning. That said, the food and service were fine from then on.
When we walked in and said we had a reservation, they did not have a reservation for us. I showed them the confirmation, but the hostess did it write the open table reservations in the book. They accommodated us but was not pleased. The waitress was wonderful and made our dinner extremely pleasant.
Went on Valentine’s Day. Amazing!
It was great.
Food was great. Loved the crab nacho app!!! Our server and the bus person were very attentive. Just a note that when we arrived, they didn't have our reservation that we had made on Open Table. The hostess just shook her head and said "that never works". Fortunately she found us a table.
A little disappointed that it was a selected menu for new years. Nothing on the menu was worth the price. The food was not that good. Not filling
The Good: The food was excellent, esp. the appetizers and the seafood entrees.
The Bad: The service was extremely slow! The waiter completely forgot our salads and only brought them at meal end in carry out boxes! And the requested sour cream for our quesadillas didn't show up until the end!
The dining room did not appear to be particularly full so I'm unsure what the problem was with the service.
Always enjoy our meal here. Courteous and attentive service. The dining room is cozy and comfortable
The food and waitress were really good. We love the Old Bay chips. The only complaint was the kitchen was slow with the food.
We do like Rafael's and dine here often. But twice, now, the hostess did not have our Open Table reservation. Also, a great draw is half price for select entrees on Monday evenings. 4 of us chose from this menu but were charged full price when the bill came. We always tip on the regular price as long as we have good service (we did) Our waitress corrected everything with no problem. Just make sure to check your bill before paying. Overall, a nice place, pleasant servers and good food. We will continue to patronize Rafael's.
It was a quiet Sunday. Service was sufficient considering we were the only ones eating.
The meals were over cooked. We were a party of three. Softshell crab was ridiculously tiny and over cooked. It looked lost on the oversized roll.
The crab cakes were tiny, tastless and over cooked.im fine with market price but make it worth wild. I had shrimp salad wrap with fries. The wrap was fine but my fries were hard as a rock, again over cooked. This was our 2nd bad experience here with food. It's a shame how it seems the food has went down hill over the years.
Resturaunt was busy busy. Watch a table walk out.
No one should wait for 3 hours to get their apps and food, on a table for 4!
Outstanding responsive and prompt service! Excellent Food.
Dinning very small area. Waitress forgot about us, had to ask another waitress to get our waitress. Wedding anniversary asked for kinda quiet table no luck on that. Steaks we're over cooked. Overall won't be back.
Rafael's is exactly what one might expect for restaurant on Main Street in a small town. It's not fancy, but it is very comfortable. The main entrance to the restaurant puts you squarely in the bar area, which was pretty lively on a Friday night. The "main dining room" is separate from the bar area by a wall with a glass door in the middle. Our server was new, so she wasn't fully up to speed on the menu offerings. What she lacked in base knowledge, she made up for in enthusiasm ad effort. She was very friendly and was also very attentive to our needs. The menu covers a fairly wide range of offerings and was made up of mostly comfort food items. My wife tried their signature salad and I led off with the summer salad. Both were very good. The menu touted the chicken spring rolls as a signature dish, so we split an order. They were very well done and the dipping sauce was delicious (but maybe a little too sweet). I tried the crab cakes for my main course and was not disappointed. The were all back-fin crab meat with just enough other ingredients to hold them together in the broiler. My wife found her fish tacos to be good as well. The owner of the establishment also stopped by a few times during our meal to see how things were coming along. It's a good place for a casual meal in a quaint location. Its not fancy at all, but they do a good job in preparing the menu options that are offered.
The restaurant was wonderful, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, the Ambiance is very relaxed and the food was very good and very nice portions. The only issue I have is that opentable does not inform the restaurant that I made a reservation - The only thing bad about this evening was your web site.
Great food, service, and value.
Only criticism: No single malt scotches! Stock Macallan 12 (or at least Glenlivet 12) and I'll become a regular!
A favorite casual dining spot in Westminster Maryland
I met my brother and his wife and my sister for dinner before I left the next day heading back to FL. The hostess was friendly and our waitress was very friendly, attentive and efficient. We took advantage of your 'half price burger' promotion, and all of our burgers were VERY good. Had a great meal and enjoyable evening.
The Food was great. However, The waiter seemed like he wanted to just throw in the towel. Maybe he had too many tables. I'm not sure if he was sweating due to his size or if it was too overwhelming. I didn't ask. I just didn't leave a tip. Plus my Cosmopolitan was warm.
Great meal! We were seated at the exact time of our reservation and were promptly greeted by our server. She shared the evening specials and took our drink order. She returned quickly and took our appetizer order. The appetizers were excellent. My wife's cream of crab soup was perfectly prepared and my Caesar salad was terrific. I had the meatloaf with redskin mashed potatoes and sauted spinach and itbwas delightful. The brown gravy was creamy and just the right amount for the dish.it was a good meal and i would recommend the restaurant to anyone.
This may be a stupid review. I always order my burger medium-rare, and never get it medium rare. it's usually closer to medium-well, as if the restaurant is afraid of the liability of serving undercooked food. I often wonder, since most restaurants deliver their burgers one way only, why even go through the motions of asking the customer what they want?
And so, I was somewhat delighted to actually get a medium rare burger. It was fabulous.
