This restaurant is permanently closed. Opened in 1990 by Hassan Ahamad, Thirsk’s Raj of India restaurant has garnered numerous accolades and awards during its more than twenty year long reign. Located in the centre of Thirsk, North Yorkshire on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Raj of India, a friendly, welcoming family venture, is named after Ahamad’s son Raj and provides both service and food to truly make you feel right at home and one of the family too. Classically decorated with both traditional and modern touches, the restaurant’s cosy dining room provides the ideal setting for anything from romantic dinners to business meetings over food and even larger scale celebrations.
