Rangrez Indian Restaurant & Bar
Difficult to find a better curry in London! Top notch food and excellent service in relaxing surroundings. Lamb Rogan Josh and naans in particular were special!
Great food and good service. Worked well as pre-theatre venue.
Very good food and wonderful service with extremely nice staff
First time here and I have to say the food was amazing. A group of 4 of us and EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. We had poppadoms, starters and a main meal with rice and Naan, plus drinks - came in at £40 per head which was more than I would normally expect but having said that the meal was amazing.
The staff were really welcoming and made us feel at ease straight away. The service was prompt - no issues at all. I would definitely recommend to others and I will be back!
Excellent meal. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend to all
Superb meal with excellent service. Very enjoyable.
Food was excellent, very slow to clear the table.
We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was so tasty and fabulously cooked and the waiter very attentive and friendly. Excellent location just around the corner from the Hammersmith Apollo for a pre-concert curry of the highest order! Many thanks :-)
Great food and very friendly service. There are plenty of options if you are a vegetarian. We loved both the starters and mains. Usually very busy, so an advance booking is highly recommended.
we have a reservation at 5.00pm. it is good to reserve in advance, because many people are coming and had not enough capacity. The food was good.
but we have the impression to eat very qiuck, because many people want to eat. that is not our way to have dinner. we try to enjoy the food and have enough time.
Stayed in a local hotel but fancied Indian food . Booked through open table which was a godsend as several people were turned away whilst we ate - Busy vibrant place . Good food and service - very pleased with the reccomendation so I would definitely give it a try - some of the nicest Indian food I have had for a whole .
Lovely pre-show curry. Service fast and efficient. Food good. Don’t use the toilet unless you really can’t wait.
Excellent restaurant . Food lovely. Your toilets let you down badly.
Niced food. Relaxed atmosphere. Food a bit different to standard English curry houses. A good solid 7/10 from me.
This was a nice little Indian, nothing spectacular but also nothing at all out of place. Wonderful curries, crispy samosas, generally all you want from an Indian. I haven’t rated it as higher as I have had more sophisticated curries before, with a greater depth of taste and range of spice, at places like the Rajdoot. But otherwise really nice. And an ideal location for a show at the Eventim Apollo. No complaints, nice staff, would definitely go back next time I’m there for another show.
My second time at Rangrez- this time it was really busy with the pre-theatre Apollo crowd. Great food, friendly service. Will come back for more.
Supper before seeing Bill Bailey at the Apollo - so the location was perfect. All of us chose the house specials and none of us were disappointed. A couple of beers and we were happy. Friendly staff, with service charge added to the invoice. Toilets are to be found down some steep steps next to the kitchen, this the only downside. Wouldn't hesitate to go there again if in the vicinity
Pre-event meal before heading over to the Apollo. So handy. Quiet at 5:30pm but heaving by 7:00pm. Glad we booked. Very happy to come back next time we’re in Hammersmith.
Everything was so tasty, we had curry plates and we loved it! The staff was very friendly and not expensive, about £25 each. I recommend it!
Delicious food, completely different flavours from most Indian restaurants! We were delighted to experience new tastes (everything is apparently cooked from scratch, hence the difference), enjoyed the ambience & excellent service which left us with plenty of time to get to the Eventim O2 on time. Heartily recommended!
Very slow service, food was good but when you're starving you'll eat anything.
We went there before a concert. Arrived at 18:15, it took them 15 minutes to take our order. 20 minutes later our shared starter arrives. Other people arrive, saying that they are going to the same concert down the road as we are and would like fast service. 15 minutes later they get served. 15 minutes after that we get served. More than an hour after sitting down to get our main course. Asked for the bill and to pay when the main arrived, had to seek them out after to pay. Should've walked out. The excuse for the late service was that we had a starter. 1 starter. Right.
Was a family group of 4 and had a very tasty & pleasant meal. The service is attentive, efficient and very courteous and not fussy or overbearing. Food was tasty and well cooked - tender lamb, chicken and fish as the signature dish. Sitting at the back we had low lighting which made it feel cozy. Would def recommend.
Great Indian food, will definitely be coming back - soon!
Great food and helpful staff
Evidently short staffed so the drinks and food took ages to arrive. The food itself was okay when it eventually came - both the prawn dishes were particularly good - however the verdict of the serious curry aficionados among us was "not overly impressed" as a couple of the dishes tasted a 'bit bland' - but this was especially confirmed when the bill arrived at over £40 per head for a pretty standard Indian meal without starters or dessert. Won't be rushing back!
My husband and I was going to the donny osmond show the meal was absolutely lovely and staff very friendly was ideal around the corner from the eventrim apollo would highly recommend
Booked as part of a date night with the wife. Seating is quite compact but wasn't too bad. Food was prompt out and drinks where good too. Reasonable sized portions. Decent atmosphere.
A lovely place but Open Table never gave them our booking! Luckily they had a free table.
really tasty food with lots of different menu items than the standard indian restaurant offering - friendly service too
The crispy corn is an unusual starter which was very well done, but I didn't rate the mains at all, and it's quite expensive and empty-feeling. Wouldn't rush back.
The food was really excellent, amazing Punjabi cuisine! My boyfriend and I came for a quick meal just before a gig at the Hammersmith Apollo and it was delicious. We didn't order any alcohol, but the bill worked out to be about £25 per head. It's a shame I live so far away, otherwise I would be back here more often. Highly recommended.
We went to Rangrez Indian Restaurant & Bar for a quick dinner before a concert. The food was pretty average and way over priced. Wouldn't go back again.
Fresh and super tasty food! You could taste the array of different spices. Very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent choice of dishes. Understated, you wouldn't necessarily notice the place if just walking by so it was extremely helpful to discover it by reading reviews online. So glad we went. Would definitely be back when in London.
Don't believe all you read in the reviews. This one was not good.
Booked a table here for a meal pre a visit to The Apollo theatre. We had noticed when passing on an earlier visit to The Apollo how busy the restaurant was and thought that was a good sign. I went with my wife who is lactose intolerant and every care was taken to make sure she did not eat anything that could upset her. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and will certainly be dinning here again when we next visit The Apollo.
Although the food was ok it was very slow and we felt expensive for what we had. £86 for 3 people where one us had 2 starters and the other 2 had a starter and a main
Great to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine with fantastic flavours and spices of the Punjab.
Booked here for a special pre-theatre dinner out with my husband. There was no clear place to stand when you come in the door and there was very little staff (notice in window, looking for help). I had requested a table away from the door and high traffic areas, which was given to us. The table was directly below a heater fan but it was about 25 feet away from the door (without any obstructions) so it felt cold the entire time we were there. Gordon's gin was on the menu (my husband's favorite) but when he ordered it was told they hadn't received their liquor shipment yet and were out. After being served, the waitress came back and said that they had just gotten some Gordon's and did he want to swap it out. By then, the drink was partially gone and my husband opted to keep with what he had. We also ordered a bottle of white wine. It was brought out without the ice bucket and when they did bring the ice bucket, they did not wrap the neck of the bottle with a serviette/towel to keep it from dripping when poured. The poppodoms (spelling?) and dipping sauces were wonderful. We also ordered some onion bhajis and chicken tikka as an appetizer. The bhajiis & dipping sauce were delicious. For our mains we ordered the lamb speciality and chicken byriani. My dinner (lamb speciality) was good (not great) and had a bit of a special presentation. The byriani was a simple dish that was delivered without explanation. It looked so different than what my husband had experienced, that he had to call a waiter over (apparently one of the owners) to ask if there wasn't supposed to be more. My husband was told that this was what true byriani was (chicken & rice with spices) served with yogurt. It was good, but not that something special I was hoping for before our trip to the Apollo. We had gone to Cote Brasserie the evening before and the value for money and quality of the food was better there than at Rangrez. It's an ok place for pre-theatre.
I think most people are aware that Indian restaurants are of Bangladeshi style and staff.
The Rangrez is Punjabi. This shows strongly in a short but very different menu. The vegetarian choice is better than most restaurants and items such as mo mos are very welcome.
Service is very efficient and a meal in 75 minutes prior to a concert at the Apollo just around the corner is just right. Booking is advised if you are concerting.
It's good value too for that area of London.
We spotted this on Trip Advisor and wanted to get an Indian before we went to the Caro Emerald concert at the Apollo and boy are we glad we did - this is a real find - the food is fantastic, the menu isn't extensive but the food more than makes up for it, the flavours are stunning - we'd eat here all the time if we lived closer! The poppadoms are the best we've ever eaten !!
