Good food, lovely staff, excellent value, what more could you ask for!
This was our first visit to the Red Chilli and it won't be the last !
Everything about the experience was good. Started with a warm welcome and poppadums and beer. Main courses and all the sides, naans and rice were top drawer and we all said afterwards how much we had enjoyed it all. The Open Table 50 % off the food bill was very helpful !
Our group of friends are all ex city workers so we only meet up about every three months but we will definitely be coming back here again at our next meeting in July.
Food was excellent very tasty good sized portions.
Staff welcoming and attentive.
Good local restaurant.
Tasty food and good, friendly service.
Would happily recommend.
The food was delicious and the service was fine, but with so many good restaurants in London, I recommend going elsewhere. From the moment we sat down, this restaurant smelled like a mix of mold and a strong perfume, and, the service was adequate, but not overly friendly. We were so happy when the food arrived because it smelled good and overpowered the bad mold and perfume smell of the interior of the restaurant. It's too bad they can't pick up and move to a new location.
I have visited Red Chilli several times and the food never fails, always tasty albeit pricey now.
However this recent visit i found the service not that great.
While in the middle of our starter (poppadoms) we were told our main was ready, we asked them to hold fire as we wasnt ready, after that the waiter kept hanging around. We had one beer in here because no one ever came to ask if we wanted another.
They have done the place up and it looks good but the staff need to be a little more a-tentative.
As i said, great food and definately worth a visit.
Great food and friendly service - quite possible one of the best Chicken Tikka Masala's in London
Unfortunately we were unable to try Red chilli because five hours before the table was booked for and we were due to meet our clients, the restaurant telephoned and said they were unable to honour the booking as they were closed for refurbishment. This was after the table had been booked for 2 weeks.
When we told the waiter about the food he was not interested never said sorry just cleared our plates and gave us our bill.
I would like a manager to address our concernes but nobody came to ask why my plate and cold dish was still full i paid for a meal i could not eat. This was my first time staying over in London and next time i will stay away from red chilli this has put me off eating currys which i used to love
I would have a guess and say this may be my 6th time at Red Chilli. The food never fails to disappoint and the staff are still as friendly as they have always been.
Very friendly staff, helpful and had a sense of humour!
Food was good, on time and well presented.
The portion sizes were bigger than I could manage, but my boyfriend thought that was great!
Starters were cold - main meal was better as they were served in metal pots and placed on candle heaters - we were not offered a sweet after the meal or coffee to finish - We felt as though the staff were rushing to get home - annoying to see the waiters popping out the front door regularly for a cigarette - Shall not return
This restaurant took our reservation. Confurmed it. And, then was closed when we arrived.
The restaurant didn't have our opentable booking, but seated us straight away and we really enjoyed our meal. There was a big group in at the same time but that didn't interfere at all. Service was quick without being at all intrusive and food was delicious.
Have eaten here many times and have never had a bad experience. Love the food, love the service and love the feel of the place - the ambience.
This is at least my 5th visit to Red Chilli and it never disappoints. The food is great value for money and always tastes fresh and flavoursome.
I tend to like my curry's hot so when I order a Vindaloo I tend to get funny looks from the staff along with "its very spicy", I think having a lady order this surprises them :)
Keep up the good work guys, I will definitely be back.
Booking for 8 at Red Chilli and we had a pleasent meal. Service was efficent and the wide menu choice meant we were able to choose some unusual dishes. Personally I found all the food good but nothing exciting to make it stand out for the price which seemed more City priced than the location but this was more due to the cost of beers and the usual over ordering of veg than the menu costs. Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.
Booked via the toptable app , only an hour and a half before arriving , this worked well & we were greeted & seated promptly .
Its a pretty standard looking, smaller place , but quite cozy .
Food was well above average & better than you would find in brick lane.
Two of us had two courses with a couple of extras & drinks for £40 , doubt if you could find better & only 10 minute walk from st Catherine's dock or tower bridge
Red Chilli is always a great place to go for a curry. Really pleased my friend decided to book her birthday there. We were not disappointed!!
had a very nice meal here - it's better than all the Brick Lane restaurants. each dish we ordered tasted distinctively different, rather than the generic slop one can sometimes accuse curry houses of serving up.
We came here because we saw it had good reviews on toptable & was only a short walk from our hotel
The food was LOVELY!! One of the best currys I have had!! Service was great! We had a nice private table
Would recommend to anyone!!
We will be back again - good value especially on on Sunday night, and curries were good, although sag paneer and tarkha Dahl were overly sweet and bland.
I loved the relaxed feel of this place - was buzzing but relaxed. Great food and a great overall evening.
Really enjoyed oue dinning experience at Red Chilli. We were a group of 11 people and the food came quick and at the same time, which is really appreciated. Good food, a lot of food for a good price! The decor was a bit different but didn't make us dislike the restaurant in any way.
As good as always. The food was very tasty - even the extra spicy stuff!
Red Chilli is my favourite Indian restaurant in London. Very tasty food, great service and always nice to keep going back.
We have eaten in many Indian restaurants and this one is good. Nothing out of the ordinary but good food. We didn't use the toilets so don't know if they are ok!! Friendly service.
Had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Good service, good food and a nice atmosphere. Pretty busy for a Wednesday. We were given a drink on the house which was a nice touch. We are thinking about having our work team's Christmas bash here.
My wife booked the table for us which is why there is a different name on the review.
A good reputation but I found it a bit tired and desultory. Service was on the slow side. Good cooking though...
Service not a s good as it normally is - we had a new waiter. Food superb as always
This nice restaurant is tucked away at the end of Leman Street, coming from Aldgate East station and has a very pleasant dining room with friendly staff and good food.
We have found it may years ago but judging by the number of diners, including large groups, on a Tuesday night, so have lots of other people now.
We particularly enjoy sitting at the balcony which is quite cosy.
All attendees were very impressed with the quality and taste of food and the services
We were heading for a curry on brick lane and read about the restaurant on trip advisor, it was alittle out the way but well worth the walk. Excellent food and service.
Interesting menu, more varied than standard Indian restaurants. Service and ambiance were pleasant. Food was very good. The only challenge was the taxi that the staff ordered for us at the end of the evening. it was a private hire vehicle which wasn't metered and insisted on charging us £15 to drive us just over a mile back to our hotel. Not a good end to the evening.
Fantastic. Great people, great food at a great price. A real hidden gem in the city
Excellent food with a fantastic lunch offer for £9.99 that includes, starter, main course with rice and a beer
Brilliant... They seem to have a way of making the most normal of indian dishes better... i dont know what it is but the food just tastes better??
anyway service as ever was top notch and very good value too....
excellent food and service as always
The menu is great and is what made me choose this restaurant. Lovely to see monkfish on the menu, although it did taste a little more like cod in my opinion. The bhaji's and samosa didn't taste too fresh and the chicken pakora was a little unusual. It was more like breaded minced chicken which had been fried. A nice offer of a complimentary short after the meal was a nice little added touch.
Fantastic place. The starter was absolutely delicious & the best prawn puree that I've ever eaten. The main was a little disappointing as i was expecting it to be spicy hot & it was actually quite mild, but it was very tasty nevertheless. My husband's meal was lovely. Again the starter was better than the main, but very flavoursome. The service was impeccable, non intrusive & friendly. The complimentary drink at the end of our meal was a nice touch. Overall very nice & good value for money.
