We stayed at the Woodstock Inn and they did a great job at the hotel and in the restaurant. The food was great and we had a great weekend.
Superb menu, personal attention and ambiance set the stage for a perfect 52nd anniversary dinner! Will definitely return.
The experience of the restaurant was very satisfying. The host who greeted us was very pleasant and lead us to our table. The waiter came and made sure we were settled and asked if we wanted a cocktail. When he brought the cocktail, he announced that these drinks were on the house because it was our fifth wedding anniversary. The food was prepared perfectly and was served hot. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend the restaurant.

Everything was excellent.
Chef Jason prepared the most amazing tasting menu for us this weekend! It was 5 courses and I don’t think we could even choose a favorite because they were all so delicious! Each course flowed so nicely from one to the next and they were also paired perfectly with recommended wines. It was truly probably one of the best meals we have ever had! If I absolutely had to choose a favorite course, it would be the Ricotta Gnudi. It was out of this world good! He is such a talented chef and the Woodstock Inn is lucky to have him!

For the good news. The food was pricey, but very good. A total dining experience for me is food, service, atmosphere. The service was good for us, but we did notice some other couples struggling with this... as far as atmosphere, definitely a fail for us, as some other folks have eluded to here. Its been a few years since we stayed at the Woodstock Inn. The restaurant décor is very commercialized and reminds me of a chain hotel business traveler type . Disappointing, as it certainly does not support the historic charm of Woodstock. So for the kicker...20% service charge automatically added in. So service does not really matter and you have no say in it. I am a very generous tipper normally, but was so disappointed with this, I did not add more...too bad. Last trip to this restaurant for us, unfortunately...More good news, lots of great restaurants nearby!!
The food at the Red Rooster was excellent. However, for the money spent, the ambiance was that of a medium priced family restaurant. No warmth at all. Don't know if that's because of changes due to Covid, but very disappointing. Also, the service was great, but the food came out so fast! If we didn't get another drink, we would have been out of there in a half hour to 45 minutes. Disappointing in that you would expect more from a dining experience in the Woodstock Inn. Thank goodness the food was outstanding.

We had a delicious lunch at the Red Rooster last week. We started with apple cider drinks which we enjoyed and we shared an appetizer of pretzels. The pretzels were warm and served with a delicious cheese sauce and a stone ground mustard which we enjoyed very much.
My husband and I both ordered the salmon tacos which were very tasty served with an apple, cucumber, and feta salsa-yum.
The restaurant was very nice with tables very separated due to Covid and the wait staff were all very friendly. We enjoyed our lunch very much.

The soft pretzels with our own Billings Farm Mornay Cheese and Lawson’s Little Sip mustard are a big favorite; and you can never go wrong with the tacos, which change with the seasons! Nice dinner at Red Rooster. A bit loud (lots of young children), but the kids were cute and well-behaved. Food was very good. Portion of surf and turf entree was a little smaller than expected.

Little bit underwhelming, had to ask for more water, had to ask for bread for the table, asked for a double portion of pasta which was still small but double the price (same price as a salmon). Little disappointed. Not a very relaxing setting, I understand Covid and being 50 percent but things could have been more better

Service was very slow which is ok for the food but drinks from the bar took way to long..
My husband and I loved this restaurant. We both had the filet which was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent. We will return on our next trip to Wooddtock.
