Longhorsley Restaurants

I bought this for a birthday grift for my wife as we have always wanted to try the event, having done various others, and ate at the restaurant a few times. The knowledge, and quality of the food and wine was incredible. The evening and other guests really helped and could not recommend the experience enough to others looking at trying. In the current climate, it feels like this is a really good price, for an amazing experience. It’s not something you can probably do regularly, but for a special ocassion or a one off, I really don’t think the price can be questioned. Chris, the chef, was very good at explaining each dish while he was there, but had to say that Will showed such an amazing love for this job! It’s fantastic when people have that much passion for the job, as it definitely impacts positively on the atmosphere for those there for the experience. Will definitely be back to Blackfriars again, and would not hesitate to come back for the chef’s table again

The Anglers Arms is a fabulous spot for dinner & drinks Maureen & staff are great hosts, food spot on.

Dinner here was the best in our whole week in Northumberland (and that includes dinner at the swanky Langley Castle Hotel). I had a special- sea bream with parmentier potatoes and green cabbage. Odd eh? Cabbage and fish? It was sensational with the fillet lain gently on a bed of perfectly cooked cabbage. My companion opted for the (30 minute wait while we cook it) steak and ale pie. Now he's fussy but reckoned he'd not had a better pie. Ever. The food was served piping hot (more than can be said for the swanky hotel) and looking appetising. Oh, and by the way, breakfast was a dream. All hot food cooked to order and served piping hot (again) on hot plates.
