First impressions are important. An early reservation for 17:45, we arrived early at 17:30 - not a problem. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff guided us through the tapas menu as it was our first time. After a small pilsner each, we both dined: escargot to die for, accompanied by delicious in house baked bread, served with a garlic olive oil dip; Pain à la tomate on sourdough was devine; Cromesquis au maquereau fumé ( smoked mackerel croquettes) and a generous portion of chunky pomme frites; Boeuf bourguignon was melt in the mouth, accompanied by garlicy gratin dauphinois. The wine menu was varied suited to every pocket. We chose a young, yet punchy Aubert & Mathieu red from the south of France. Perfect pairing for our tastes. All in all, a great experience, friendly, lively (for early dining). Certainly we will return. Great tasting food and wine, worth every penny.

The service was exceptional ; attentive and prompt but not overwhelming or intrusive . The food was good but the crepe for dessert was cool and not very light. The prawns for starter were delicious as was the steak which was perfectly cooked and still hit when it arrived despite being rare. The only thing that spoilt the experience was the room temperature which was cool bordering on cold! This would make me not want to return.
