The bar booths are only suitable for an afternoon tea for a maximum of 4 people and we were 5. That meant we had to remove all the water glasses and the water jug. Also we could only have one pot of tea on the table due to space, so had to keep asking for top ups. Very cramped unfortunately. The food was lovely.

We were greeted by very friendly staff and take to our table. We were not rushed into ordering. Service and food was very good. Large portions. We were not rushed to leave. Had a very enjoyable meal with friends. Will certainly go again.

This was my second visit to The Ivy Brasserie Norwich, both times with my mother who is older and has reduced mobility and as before, we were given a table that was easily accessible for mum, a great start. Jordan who looked after us throughout our meal was kind, professional, observant and good-humoured and made sure we all felt very well looked-after. Food was terrific, we shared zucchini fritti, then I had oak-smoked duck liver parfait (presented under a glass cloche filled with smoke which felt a bit out of place with the informal brasserie atmosphere but I'm sure other diners will find impressive!) which was delicious. Then I had Malaysian prawn curry vol-au-vent from the very good-value set £19.71 menu (it was no problem at all to order this even though I chose a starter and dessert from the main menu) which was wonderful, with plenty of prawns in a rich curry sauce. For dessert I had rum baba which was generous (and boozy!) with plenty of lovely fresh strawberries. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a lovely leisurely lunch. The restaurant is beautiful and I think the pricing is very fair for the high quality of the food. My only suggestions for improvement would be that it would be nice to be offered bread for the table, rather than it being chargeable at £5.25, and it's a shame that the toilets are three floors up from the restaurant - there is an accessible toilet in the main dining room but I am always reluctant to use these in case someone who needs it is inconvenienced. Thank you Jordan and team for making our special occasion lunch memorable - we will be back!
