Restaurant Martin Wishart
A fantastic meal with great friendly informed service.
Would highly recommend
Lovely dinner - fabulous food, great wines and service - couldn’t ask for more.
Excellent menu, carefully served and wonderful atmosphere. Look forward to returning
Very imaginative tasting menu, food quality and presentation were superb, as was attentive service. Well worth it.
Lovely! Great atmosphere, excellent food and very helpful waiters and waitresses.
Incredible. Everything was perfect.
Food is amazing, especially with the selected wines.
This restaurant never disappoints, the staff are attentive, welcoming, informative and food superlative. Will be back again soon.
Wedding anniversary meal. We were looking for a special treat and boy did we get it. The staff were attentive without being overly fussy and the food was exceptional. Highly recommended.
Quite simply one of the best meals I have ever had. Delightful setting, super attentive but discreet staff and glorious food. Definitely coming back when I am next in Edinburgh.
Outstanding night, right from the meet and greet throughout the evening and leaving. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and always had a smile.
Lunch at Martin Wishart’s is always a delightful experience. As well as delicious food and great service, the restaurant, although quite formal, is very relaxed and comfortable. Look forward to our next visit.
A hidden gem in Leith! A delightful experience on every level! Food, wine and service are second to none. Be sure to book ahead.
Truly a memorable meal, beautifully executed ,using local ingredients some with a surprising taste sensation . Food prepared with exquisite attention to detail. We had the 8 courses, it is expensive bit the experience is worth every penny, just go!!
Went here with my girlfriend for a lovely lunch before watching a 6 nations game, the food was simpley beautiful, we were both impressed and had a lovely afternoon
Not a hint of Valentines night in the restaurant or menu on 14th February which was disappointing. Food colourful and flavorsome, although a little rich which left us feeling `full`. The fish seemed slightly overcooked in both our main dishes although the restaurant was busy and i assume Chef had his hands full. Service was very good, staff 1st class although you do pay for it.
Our fourth visit to Edinburgh from the states thus our fourth visit to Martin Wishart and never been disappointed.
Fantastic food and brilliant service, attentive without being intrusive.
Service was excellent & the food was ver good on some dishes. Extremely disappointed with the beef being cooked in a water bath. Looked & felt like I was eating human flesh !!!
A little treat with my wife. The food, the service, the setting - all fantastic. The flavours are stunning and the plates elegant. We had the lunch menu which is excellent value. We will be back for sure!
A very relaxing lunch full of surprises in tastes and creative dishes. The table service was excellent and does credit to the well managed restaurant. I hope to be back soon.
This was our first visit and we had a wonderful dining experience.
Consistently good service and food. Excellent cheese trolley.
We had just 1.5 hours for our dinner because of the Fringe and the restaurant staff took our order before our arrival and made sure that we had an amazing meal and left on time for the play.
This is simply the best restaurant of the many we frequent on many levels: location, service ambience and food.
Spur of the moment booking as we were in Edinburgh on business.
Friendly and efficient waiters, a great choice of four menus, knowledgeable sommelier.
Great food, we took the 4 course a la Carte menu and enjoyed Foie gras, scallops, turbot, ceviche of Halibut, rose veal tartare and angus beef, a superb cheese board and incredible chocolate desert.
Well worth the visit and I would recommend to anyone who loves good food.
The serving staff were lovely, attentive, friendly. We ordered the set lunch but overall the amuse bouche was the most amazing thing we ate, which was quite disappointing. Could do with some more verve in the ingredients!
I've yet to have a bad experience or even have anything to fault!
Dishes r very nice but the squid dishes is too salty for me
Brilliant service !!!!!
It was amazing! Beautiful portions and delicious choices for the menu.
Awesome food and service. Great tasting menus, fantastic wines backed up by friendly service.
Seafood tasting menu was superb with attentive, friendly service.
Went for a Burthday Lunch and it was lovely. Food and service was outstanding and I would highly recommend either lunch or dinner here.
Martin Wishart's restaurant in Leith, Edinburgh is simply the best restaurant in town. Moreover, the set lunch menu, which seems to change weekly and be tweaked daily, is a true bargain. You will have excellent food, beautifully presented with attention to detail, service, and the entire staff will focus on ensuring that you have a pleasant dining experience. I can't wait to return when we visit Edinburgh for the 2017 International Festival.
From the moment we arrived until we walked out of the door the service and the food was exquisite. The staff are smart, knowledgeable and engaging when appropriate. The food is immaculately presented, fresh and full of flavour. Highly recommended and we will be back.
Another memorable dining experience, with multiple unusual, interesting tastes and flavours. Service is outstanding, as is advice on wine.
Wish we were in Edinburgh more often, as we haven't yet discovered anywhere in London or elsewhere that compares.
A similar 3-course set lunch on Saturdays would be very welcome.
First (but not the last) time here. Travelled from friends in Dunkeld, via The Kelpies in Falkirk, to find a revitalised Leith. Superb food, as good as we've had anywhere.
We come EdInburgh on holiday once a year from London, partly to visit the restaurant. We were here for two weeks this year and visited twice for the set lunch. We are pensioners so our days of dining a la carte are over. This is no hardship as the set lunch menu is always considered and balanced for all tastes, and everything is delicious. Just to step through the door and be greeted with such perfect tact and friendliness makes me smile with happiness, and this continues throughout. Altogether a lovely experience. My favourite restaurant including some grand London venues. Never change, unless to open in London. The Galvin brothers have come here, so why not?
The restaurant is absolutely amazing to say the least! It is everything you would expect from a michelin star rated restaurant innovative, delicious, full of flavors and beautifully presented! The lunch 3 course menu for under 30£ is a steal!!! Plus 20£ additional for wine pairing is also a steal. The sommelier is very explicit explaining the reason the flavors pair which takes the experience to the next level. The service was exceptional! And if that wasn't enough we left an umbrella and a bag of souvenirs behind and they sent a taxi to our hotel once we called and advices them about it! Seriously do not miss it if in Edinghburg!!!
