Every time I go here I'm blown away, the service, the food, the ambiance, the wine, the cocktails...simply outstanding in every way.
We have been coming to the Oban Inn for dinner for several years now. This time though it was definitely not a memorable occasion. The server was trying hard to help but unfortunately they were under staffed. It took 3/4 hour to receive a drink and another 3/4 hour to receive our food. There was no apology as to why. Did not come back to ask if we would like wine with dinner or dessert.
Under these conditions , I would not recommend this restaurant. We had dinner the night before somewhere else and everything was perfect.
Awesome staff, and food was top notch!
Food a good restaurant to visit before our evening at the Shaw Festive theatre.
Lovely room and good menue selection
We had a lovely time. The duck breast was a bit tough though. Everything else - great!
Restaurant Oban overall was disappointing. While my meal was fine, my 3 dinner companions were underwhelmed with theirs. The wine by the glass list is extremely limited. In general the prices are higher than expected relative to the quality of the food. The decor is lovely, and our waitress was terrific.
A must when in NOTL, a very welcoming restautant, fabulous service (Brian is very professionnal and friendly), outstanding food (best ever wild mushroom Risotto, kudos to the chef)! Beautiful garden view! Rita
Not a very big menu but remarkably well executed..
Food was amazing, calamari, spaghetti, and pork chop all amazing. Finished off with a great hazelnut creme dessert.. unfortunate when our food disappeared so did our server. Took an exceptionally long time to get our check and pay.
Wonderful dinner! I had the duck and my husband had the lamb. Delicious!
Always delicious, best n NOTL
The food was fantastic! The setting was beautiful! The restaurant seemed flawless, which is hard to pull off. Everyone in our party was impressed by the quality and service. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in a fine dining experience.
Of the fine dining we enjoyed in Niagara-on-the-lake, this was our favorite. Everything was simply a little bit better than the fine restaurants we also enjoyed. The Caesar Salad was a revelation, with double-smoked bacon adding a depth and richness that blew us away. The bone-in pork chop was amazingly juicy, with a wonderful, very light char that added smokiness and savoriness to each and every bite. The lamb was perfectly done, and the zucchini had a light crispness even as each and every slice melted in your mouth.
The rain outside was torrential, but the staff and atmosphere made for a very cozy, lovely pre-theater dinner. We were accommodated when we asked to split the scallop pasta dish as an appetizer. We would definitely return on our next visit to Niagara-on-The-Lake.
Everything was great. Our server, Alexa was spectacular. She took great care of our party of 4.
The ambiance of Oban Inn's restaurant is delightful. The service was also very good, our server Miranda checked with us often to make sure everything was okay. The one fault we found was the size of the entree portions. I had duck breast that consisted of four small slices. The vegetables accompanying the duck breast were the best part of the meal.
Lovely, quiet small restaurant attached to the Obama Inn& Spa. Service was friendly, nice selection of unique dishes and the scallops were cooked perfectly!
Good and creative food with quality ingredients. Excellent/personable service in a beautiful environment. An overall pleasurable and memorable experience.
Great food and great service.
My wife and I very much enjoyed our Sunday lunch. It was not very busy, so that kept the noise level quite low. Good for aging ears. :-)
The food was very good.
Our server, Christine, was professional, friendly and engaging. She added to the pleasurable experience.
We will return and recommend...
All 3 of us Had good muscles. (Though husband had 2 bad ones) Spring salad was excellent. Cold pineapple & cilantro soup was quite tasty. Bread is fresh & flavorful. We go back every year. Flowers in garden are gorgeous.
Lunch with my daughter. We ordered quiche. It was hard, overlooked and rather unpalatable. I so advised the server.
The food and service was great. Good prices for an upscale restaurant in Niagara On The Lake. Deffienetly will be back.
Gave 4 stars because everybody can improve somewhere. Service follow-up to see if we were doing OK happened near the end of each course, which was a little too late to rectify problems. We did not order drinks and were potentially smaller tippers than a larger table beside us. The other table got more regular/frequent follow-ups than we did once the restaurant started to fill up. Our tip was 20% of total bill so we were not cheap tippers.
The menu was both extensive and pleasing, offering a variety of quality selections from appetizers to entries.
The wine list contained a very good selection of wines from the Niagara region. Our server help with the selection of an excellent Cabernet Franc.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, as the presentation and quality of food was 91/100.
The ambiance within the restaurant was pretty much ideal for a quite dinner. The lighting was low. The garden view was ideal.
I definitely recommend the Restaurant Oban Inn.
The Obama Inn was excellent. The food, service and ambiance was great. We will look forward to returning. It allows you to be in Niagara on the Lake but a short but appreciated distance from the crowds.
We invited guests for lunch and looked forward to eating in a 4star CAA recommended restaurant. We were disappointed with our main entrees . 3 of the guests ordered the Quiche..it was very flat, certainly not fluffy and light as it should be. I ordered the Grilled chicken sandwich and it came with a very burnt and dark brown order of fries. Looked like they were fried in old grease. The chicken itself was okay but the bacon was black and crisp. Not sure if the pretzel bun it the right type of bun for this sandwich. Overall, really disappointed.
Wine selection by the glass was just ok. Food and service were great.
The food and service were excellent. Alexa, our server, was very nice and enjoyable.
Our meal was superb and the service spectacular. Mark and Brian were amazing. This was one of the best restaurant meals we have had in recent memory.
Had a very pleasant evening and experience
Restaurant Oban Inn is just off the main street in Niagara-on-the-Lake and the food was very good. We had Calamari, Lamb and Duck Breast, and everything was very enjoyable. Service by Jimmy was very good. I would recommend this as a stop before an evening play.
Slow service. Overall average food for night end restaurant. Lamb dinner was appetizer size.
Nice setting and excellent service. Everyone enjoyed their choice from the menu.
A favourite oasis in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Stunning garden out front, outstanding food and service inside.
Food and table servicer were excellent but restaurant was understaffed with very long wait for bar service
Was disappointed with plant based options. Online menu has soba noodles and veggie burger but only soba is still in the dinner menu. We would not have chosen this restaurant if we had known
The owners should consider more plant based options
Always an excellent meal and a great location for both business and pleasure!
Service and view were lovely, but the noodle dish was excessively salty.
