Food was excellent. Server...Jimmy was a delight and provided entertaining service!
Food is fantastic. Superb quality and taste! Their crab cakes is one of the best.
Amazing dinner. Always a little hesitant about dining at a hotel restaurant. The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had the duck. Again delicious. Desserts are made in house. Finished with a little ice wine.
The crab cake appetizer was wonderful---full of real crab! I also had the pasta with lobster and really enjoyed it. The wait staff were also very attentive and helpful.
Limited menu mostly seafood
Deep fried crab cake disappointing
A lovely restaurant for a special 10th anniversary dinner.
What a wonderful atmosphere! The food was absolutely delicious. I felt comfortable dinning indoors even during a pandemic and the wait staff was wonderful.
We were disappointed. The dining room was very noisy and cold. My wife’s salmon was overcooked. I had the scallops and shrimp dish. The scallops were quite good, but the shrimp was tasteless; it needed some kind of sauce. I was also disappointed in the dessert — a creme caramel that was quite bland.
Great food and great service.
The location is very good, the dining room very nice. The food was well prepared and presented but the menu is very limited. Wine list is limited to local wineries only. I would think foreign wines should be available.
Dining room was great and we used this for both breakfast and dinner during our stay. The food quality and service were great during the breakfasts and dinners and practiced great Covid 19 procedures. Very safe!
My partner had the Lobster Spaghetti and I tried the Duck. The pasta was a huge hit with about 4 ounces of Lobster. The Duck while acceptable was a little dry for my tastes. However we will dine at the Oban again for sure!
Alexa took excellent care of us. The food was outstanding and surpassed our expectations. The room was lovely and comfortable.
We felt at ease even with the restaurants thorough Covid-19 measures.
Excellent restaurant with a limited menu because of the Covid 19. Great selection of Niagara wines. Will go back.
I was disappointed to be shown a tiny table by the door. I declined the sitting and chose another table. There were only two other tables occupied. The mussels were very good. I thought my wine could have been colder. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The asparagus was old and chewy. Very disappointing. Dessert of creme brûlée was excellent. The ambience was nice but felt the seating choice was insulting. I would not eat here again.
The Oban Inn is truly beautiful. The dinning area is very stylishly done. Our server Alexa was awesome! She was so pleasant and professional. She also made a great wine recommendation! The food was excellent. The only reason we gave it a 4 star rather than a 5 star is that the noise level in the window seating area was pretty brutal at times. The room simply does not handle noise well- it seems to amplify it with all the windows and tile flooring. I wouldn’t recommend it for people with hearing issues. If you are ok with a louder volume of background noise then definitely enjoy a dinner out at this place!
Great food, service and ambiance. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
Great food and service. Location is a bit off the Main Street but that allows for less foot traffic around you.
Expected a lot better considering the cost.
Vegetables weren't very fresh, suprising considering it is in NOTL.
We dined at the restaurant on September 19th. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken shortly after we were seated. The cocktails were well made and reasonably priced. The food was very good. the server Alexa was very polite and accommodating and the atmosphere romantic. It was a delight to be able to dine indoors
and we had a wonderful evening. We would have preferred a larger selection of wines that would include wines from California, Italy, New Zealand etc.
Rude and unorganized staff. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Save your time and money, and book else where for dinner.
Great food and excellent service! We’ve already booked for this Saturday!
Very enjoyable dinner!
Food good needs updating and cleaning windows dirty no local flair
Minimum selection but food was of high quality, fresh ingredients and very delicious. Staff were friendly and customer oriented. For an upscale resturant prices were in line with others and wine was reasonably priced.
A delicious dinner, service was excellent. I’ve eaten at the Oban Inn on many occasions and I’ve always been extremely pleased with my meal and the service.
Our waiter Steve was wonderful and the food was delicious!
Sat indoors in a beautiful building. The restaurant is nicely decorated and quiet. The meal was well presented and cooked to perfection. Service was great.
I’m not typically a complainer but this one failed all around.
My wife had been a few years ago and had a great experience. When spending the night in NOTL for our anniversary recently we decided to have dinner here.
Cocktails were average at best.
Caprese salad had very little cheese and was absolutely drowning in balsamic. Caesar salad was fine.
Muscles were ok but portion size was small.
Chicken Supreme was terrible. Chicken was dry and chewy and the risotto had so much salt it was inedible.
Mentioned the salad to the server and got nowhere, didn’t bother mentioning the rest. Server should be more aware of an uneaten plate of food.
For the price and reputation this was a very disappointing experience.
Great food and service
Everything was excellent.
Great food...great service (Sarah)...Scallops were amazing!
Service was excellent. Food was good, but the ambience was a little lacking.
Our waiter, Alexa, was great! We enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious. Definitely a great dining option for Niagara-on-The-Lake!
A lovely dinner for a couples date night close to the lake and picturesque gardens. Comfortable enclosed and beautifully appointed patio seating.
Enjoyable smoked tomato soap and roasted chicken with mushroom truffle risotto. Spouse enjoyed crab cakes and seared salmon. All dishes were served promptly and piping hot. Jimmy was a fantastic host who served a delicious variation of the signature Oban cocktail for dinner and semisweet ice wine and espresso for dessert. Great value, exceptional service and atmosphere for an enjoyable dining experience!
Jimmy our waiter was very pleasant helpful and conversational.
One patron had their cell phone on and it kept binging which was disturbing but that’s not restaurant fault. With this level of dining maybe a cell phone reminder would be appreciated. Sad that people just don’t think of proper dining etiquette
We our locals and Oban Inn ,was our first night in NOTL ,loved it then and is our favourite restaurant
Service staff always make you feel more welcome than anywhere. Best food you can find in the area by far. Worth the trip to eat here!
Great service, food was fantastic and presented very nice.
